Definitely Recommend
So I needed a vacuum and I came back to the wind tunnel. I had one like 20 yrs ago, and it died and I have other brands that were more compact but just didn't do the job that I really needed. My biggest miss here (which is why I gave this vacuum 4 out of 5 stars) is there is no light!!! Every vacuum should have a light on it. I miss the light terribly.. Other than that the attachments are great, it was easy to put together and the cord is long enough for me. The removable canister is easy to clean and I like that there are no bags anymore. Very disappointed only because there is no light..

This vacuum doesn't suck.
That's not a good thing either! It leaves my floor insanely dirty. It pretty much pools everything up and when the vacuum is off. Everything falls out and my floor is a mess again. Awful awful awful.

Here are some helpful tips to improve the suction: check to see if the filter or nozzle is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove the debris. Also check the hose for any built up debris, and use the handle of a broom to remove. After checking the hose, please be sure to securely connect the hose to your vacuum. We also recommend checking the filter by removing it from your vacuum and tapping out any built up dirt/debris that could be resting on it. Rinse the filter with water until the water runs clear and allow a dry time of 24-36 hours. - OR - We recommend checking to see if your filter is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove any debris. While you have the filter removed rinse it with water until the water runs clear, allow dry time (24-36 hours). If the listed troubleshoot does not correct the issue, please contact our Hoover Support Team at 800.944.9200 with reference to this review and model number for additional assistance. Thank you!

This is better than anyother vaccum, but cant buy anywhere?,
I have a cleaning buisness and have gone through every make and model of vaccums. This light wieght durable hard sucking vaccum is def the best for its price. But its hard to find this model anywhere anymore

It's alright. I wouldn't buy it again. It is a pain to empty the dirt. It cleans subpar. I would say it's lightweight, so easy to push. We bought it because Consumer Reports gave a good review, but it just doesn't hold true.

Terrible vacuum!
Worst vacuum I have ever purchased. The cord keeper quit working within a week and the suction is almost non-exsistant.

My wife and I got this as a wedding gift about 7 years ago. It has been the best vacuum weve had. Its lightweight, and cleans exceptionally well. The extension allows for cleaning in hard to reach areas. Fantastic vacuum.

I have used a Hoover for decades. Works well but the cleaning of canister is challenging when full with pet hair. ReDesign could make that easier I think. I find myself sticking something in to extract and never fails make more to clean! Maybe their plan?!?

great value
its 6 years old an just ordering replacement filters its been strong an still going. Shuts down i believe do to motor overheating due to clogged filter. I'm a bachelor so i don't clean it out as often as I should but it picks up the hairs of my golden retriever who is a house dog. Satisfied customer in Texas.

I just got this vacuum from a friend so I cant say much about it yet. I can say, it did clean my rug pretty well! It has a few attachments to it that I havent used. I had a hard time trying to maneuver it. Maybe Im not doing something right though..

Love this vacuum - best we have ever have.
We have had this vacuum for several years and we clean it out frequently to insure it works at maximum capability. It picks up everything and we have pets who shed. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone as it works on hardwoods as well as carpet. The attachments work ok too. I come from a family of people who vacuum often. This one works and makes me know I am getting dirt out of my home.

Ive had this vacuum for 6 years it still works pretty good
Ive had this vacuum for 6 years it still works pretty good but I will be getting a new one sooner then later. Im very impressed with how long its lasted tho. Its pretty light weight and also is super easy to use. Hoover is a great brand!

Light Weight and it works great!
We have had this vacuum for about a 1 1/2 years and are very pleased with it. We just replaced the brush roller and belt; as the bearings were gone on the roller. The suction works real well and easy to empty and clean.

This works ok for vacuuming small areas of basic
This works ok for vacuuming small areas of basic carpeting. The canister is very small so it requires emptying after vacuuming just 1 room and often requires me to reach into the canister to free the lint. In one room I have a very short dense carpet & it is an act of tug of war to vacuum. There are no settings beyond "on/off" & turning the roller "on/off", so the suction on the dense rug is just to much that it creates a seal. For a cheap vacuum in a house without much carpeting I can deal. If my house was all carpet I'd look elsewhere.

Poor hose clip design
Have had this vacuum for 4 years now and are happy with its performance. But, the spring function of the green clip at the end of the hoses has broken and no longer works hold the hose connection in place. This is an essential connection, without it, the vacuum is useless. Have to wrap a rubber band around the connector and under the clip to make it work. The below question for type of surface cleaning does not have an option for ALL.

Hard to maneuver
This has a great suction motor, but it is very difficult to maneuver, especially when you are trying to clean carpets. It gets sucked so much that you need to use a lot of strength to move it back an forth. It would have been best if it has some sort of height adjustment from the floor. Also the extended hook due to the extra force required to move the vacuum it pulled out, and it is impossible to put back in unless you take it apart.

Hose Doesn't Work At All
I tried to use the hose on this vacuum for about an hour before I gave up and decided that the attachment for it just doesn't work. It's just not made the right size for the attachment to fit where it should.

Quite the sucker!
The Hoover WindTunnel vacuum is the greatest vacuum out there for picking up short, fine Pug dog hair! I have two shedders and the WindTunnel picks every single hair up with ease and very little effort on my part. It's lightweight, bag less and the best feature is the cord rewind. Great price for such a powerful vacuum! My new vacuum of choice for sure! Thanks to Hoover for making such a great product!

6 years of AMAZING
I bought this 6 years ago. I not only recommend it to all my friends and family, I have finally worn mine out and will be repurchasing the same one. Reasons I LOVE this vacuum: 1) price. Let's get real, I want a vacuum, so unless it's magical, I don't want to pay for a small car (I'll save that cash for a French bulldog, thanks). 2) function. Cord length- perfect, who is designing a vacuum with anything less than 30' minimum? I live in a small place and rave about "plugging in one place and getting it all"; but I also have used my vacuum at my sisters McMansion and my moms beast box of a house, again, perfect cord length. 3) power. All the fancy ($$$) lightweight machines I've used at my family's places don't do the job, they do about 25%. 4) weight. This is important, because if you've got a spoiled pet that sleeps on the couch- you need to lift - so again, a great workout, but perfect for getting the job done.

Handle
I bought this vacuum about a year age and I was using it and the handle snapped in half. Very cheap. I didn't like this machine as it was not easy to use on steps. very cumbersion, did not pick up dog hair well. Stair accessory does not work very well as it needs suction to rotate the beater bar. Not happy with this machine at all. Don't waste your money on this. The bottom door broke off when emptying the the canister a month after I bought it. Very difficult to disassemble unit to clean the entire canister unit. I just bought a Shark Professional. What a difference. I used it right after using the Hoover and it picked up so much more dirt. The machine comes apart to do stairs and it is so much easier and lighter to carry on the stairs. Very well designed and rugged. I would NOT recommend this vacuum as it is not worth the money as you get so much more with the Shark. I would never buy another Hoover product again.

WAS A Dyson gal
I have had a Dyson for 10 years, my husband brought this home I was frustrated thinking I would get me dyson as soon as I could, and just use this in the mean time, however this vaccum was just as good as my Dyson and it's just as user friendly for clogs and has tremendous power. I have had it for 2 years now and it works just as well as it did day one with the cleaning and care that I always did for my Dyson too at literally 1/7th the cost of my Dyson. I am so impressed and happy with this purchase and if it just stopped tomorrow I would still feel as though I got such a great deal, would only buy a windtunnel, never would I put that kind of money for a Dyson again!!!.
