The shipment arrived well packaged without damage. Very well built and beat my expectations. I was surprised to see that it was built out of Sintra which should never require any painting. Easy material to scribe. I added a solar light with the solar panel outside of the unit. Absolutely beautiful at night. If I could afford to purchase a larger unit i would buy one for the livestock barn but out of reach.

I could not have been happier with my cupola. An unexpected surprise was the windows had 16 panes on each side which just added to its’ beauty. My contractor found it very easy to install and was impressed with how well it was packaged for shipping. I would highly recommend this product. Great quality at a very reasonable price.

I have had this for two years now and it’s holding up very well. I get a lot of compliments on it. I sealed mine so that it stays copper. Love it! I would absolutely order from this company again!

The Cupola arrived in 2 separate boxes and assembly was really quick! Set the pieces together and put a few screws in and your ready! Unfortunately I ended up not being able to put it on my house as after placing it on the roof it looked way out of place for my house. So improvised and used it as lawn decoration instead. I am going to add a light inside just to give it a little extra flash! There is a door on one side of it for easy access to place things inside. It has a hole in the top to add a weathervane which is on the list to add as well! Definitely a well made beautiful piece to add to your house! You won't be disappointed with your purchase!

This is a three piece unit. The roof if this cupola is copper and the frame is vinyl which will never rot. There is a removable slug in the center top of the copper roof which can be replaced with a weathervane and the roof section actually has steel hardware built in to receive a weathervane. It is very nice looking and is made of high quality materials. The manufacturer customer service was excellent when I contacted them. Don't hesitate to call or email them should you require assistance. Assembly and installation are not for the faint of heart. It is recommended that the ridge vent is cut out of the roof section for proper fit when securing the unit to the roof. The base must be cut out based on the pitch of your roof (minus the ridge vent), blocking (not included) must be cut to size and glued and screwed to your roof, the base needs to be screwed into blocking (caulking must be applied as well). The window section is screwed into the base and the the copper roof section is screwed into the window section (in that order). Not hard to do, but you must be able to safely traverse the peak of your roof and handle carpentry and some roofing work to DIY this one. Best bet might be to hire an installer if you have any concerns. Size considerations: My garage is 25 feet wide and this cupola looks tiny up there. Consider a larger size cupola if you also have a roof area this wide or larger. It would be very helpful for customers if there was a guideline for roof width and cupola size recommendations.

Awesome looking cupola. I still am having a hard time believing anything on this cupola is vinyl. Initially I was going to mount this on my shed. However, because it's such a high quality item, I feel it would be an utter waste of a fine product. So until the rain quits and I can mount it on my house, it will sit in the garage awaiting it's destination. What I like is the aesthetics for obvious reasons. Also it has one side of the windows and frame mounted with a piano hinge so you can get inside to complete the installation and to mount a weather vane if you choose. Being a three piece unit will make for an easier installation. However, I would recommend to either have an experienced carpenter or roofer mount it since climbing around on a structure can be dangerous. Formally being a roofer, I know how much damage water can cause. When I do mount it, I will use silicone and apply it to all glass where it's exposed to the elements. I seen no sign of protection around the glass, which causes me concern for water intrusion or letting water sit along the glass edges in the frame. This may or may not be a concern for rot. However, living in a cold climate, the freezing element or water sitting somewhere is always a concern. Freezing water buckles 14" of concrete roadway, so you can only imagine the damage potential elsewhere. This high quality cupola is a recommended product.

This coupola was a great addition to my garage. Beautiful!

Just added this to my 40' x 80' shop. It looks great and seems like it will last 200 years. I added cedar shingle siding to the sides of the lower section to match my barn and the look is seemless. Really like the curved, copper roof - it really stands out on our farm. I like it well enough that I have ordered another cupola to add to the other end of the barn. Really happy.

The quality and service by Good Directions was superb. The cupola looks great, meeting all our expectations. The help from the Home Depot personnel at the Chardon Store was excellent at the pro-desk and the gentlemen who delivered it to my truck. Arriving customers admired the cupola.

The cupola was put together well and was fairly easy to put it up. However, I purchased a Good Directions weather vane to go on it but found that the hole on top and the bracket for the weather vane post were severely misaligned which resulted in the weather vane being out of true. I spent 2 hours relocating the bracket to make it true and straight so that the weather vane could spin freely. This should have been just insert, fix and forget but instead changed to a major project.

I bought two of these cupolas when I had my barn re-roofed. They look amazing, adding a bit of class and visual interest to an old barn that now has a new life! I would recommend these to anyone. Be sure to add a Good Directions weathervane!

Waited weeks for delivery, only to discover the base is not nearly tall enough to fit our roof. Our peak forms about a 90° angle, which would leave a large gap below each side when nestled on the peak. I went back and read the description, and buried within it is a vague mention of "10/12 roof pitch." But I had no idea what that meant. Now I have no idea what to do. There seems to be 4 options: 1. Return it, and the weathervane. 2. See if Good Directions can provide a taller base and wait for delivery. 3. Try to modify it myself — but I don't have the same vinyl material. 4. Build my own taller base out of wood — which would not be maintenance-free.
