Plastic has an inherent smell that should dissipate after a few showers or with some fresh air. To help the mat stick to your tub, be sure your tub is clean. Wet tub. Place mat in center of tub. Press firmly to anchor suction cups. Continue filling tub and step carefully onto mat in 5 to 6 places to ensure mat is anchored to tub. Test adherence to the tub each time you use it. Always use caution when entering and exiting the tub, as well as when in the tub. Clean mat and tub regularly. CAUTION: For use on smooth surfaces only. Not for use on textured surfaces or bath tubs with non-slip surfaces.
