Love the look and the performance of this 36" cooktop. I found the lock feature to be a real bonus so I don't worry that I will accidently turn on a burner. It's also convenient to have a timer at my fingertips. I do wish the burners were a bit more visible but that's a minor issue. I have researched induction cooktops forever and then I found GE. Very Happy with my purchase!

We installed this cooktop about 6 months ago. We haven't had any real problems with it other than it seems the larger burner circles need a pot or pan that is about the same diameter as the circle in order to heat effectively and quickly.

This was truly the best appliance I purchased for my new house. Love the induction. Cooks so FAST!!! Easy clean up.

When I shopped for a new cooktop I knew absolutely nothing about induction cooking. I saw an induction stove on the showroom floor. I asked the sales person about it, and after his explanation about how it works I did extensive research on the internet about induction cooking, stoves and cooktops. I read many user ratings for the various brands of induction cooktops. The GE Model #PHP960DM2BB came up as one of the highest rated ones. After much research and consideration I decided to go with the GE induction cooktop. It looks absolutely gorgeous in my newly renovated kitchen! It is a dream to cook on and a breeze to clean. I can't imagine ever going back to cooking on an electric or gas range. I highly recommend the GE PHP960DM2BB induction cooktop to all who are in the market for a new cooktop. Some folks say the drawback is that you have to buy new cookware which have magnetic bottoms in order for the induction method of cooking to work. I didn't think of it as a drawback, but instead as an excuse to get a new set of pots and pans! BTW, it turns out that several of my favorite pots and pans do in fact have magnetic bases, and they work great on the new cooktop. For those who are in doubt, do the research. You'll be glad you did!

This new cooktop is absolutely beautiful. Cooktop cooks items in half the time compared to our electric element cooktop. Recommend to everyone that induction cooking is the best.

I did a lot of research and the GE Profile 36 induction cooktop got consistently good reviews. The on/off temp buttons are intuitive to use and stove top cooks beautifully. We had to buy new cookware which we expected. And our existing countertop opening was slightly too big to accomodate the new cooktop. We needed to creat a support system to allow the cooktop to rest its weight on the metal frame underneath the unit, versus the glass which might not have taken the weight. Make sure to do good measurements before hand. We thought we did, but did not take into account the supports must accomodate less than the total inches of the cooktop that are spec'd out. Other than that, super easy install. We hired an electrician for an hour to do so as our house is older. Ordering from Home Depot was a breeze and the delivery guys were great. Happy with our purchase!

We just purchased this cooktop and already are so impressed with it. It was easy to install and very user friendly. We were amazed at how quickly it boiled water (about 1 minute!). I am very excited to start cooking with this.

Easy to install. Works great very attractive . This was a Gift for my daughter and she loves it! It may cost a little more then others but well worth it. DH from West Virgina

I bought this about a month ago and love, love, love it! Would not have anything else. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the options for pans. I had my mind set on Calphalon pans but not many options there. Wanted some colored ones. But still well worth it.

I have been using this cook top less than one month but it is living up to everything I read about it. Should have done this years ago. Most of our friends were skeptical when we told them we were buying induction but now they love it and will probably be getting one to replace their gas and electric cook tops.

I have always loved gas for cooking. I am now convinced that nothing beats induction. Fast, safe and a great deal of control. Heats very quickly and most impressed with how it maintains warm/simmer.

We have all GE appliances, and when we needed a new cook top, we saw this one. Induction cook top and said that's for us. All smooth on top and quick heating. Looks nice and we are glad we bought it.

BOTH MY WIFE AND I LIKE COOKING. WE HAD ANOTHER GE COOKTOP WHICH WE HAD FOR 52 YEARS, BUT THIS NEW ONE FAR SURPASSES THE OLD. WE BOTH HAVE COOKED ON A GAS RENAGE AND OUR NEW INDUCTION COOK TOP ALLOWS US TO FINE TUNE OUR COOKING SETTINGS JUST LIKE ON GAS.

This was a replacement cooktop, my other was ancient. I loved the upgrade! Smooth, easy to clean and easy to operate. The only thing I'm unhappy with it on is the touch sensors are quirky. Even in the lock mode, I can be cleaning it and the lights tend to flash and it beeps repeatedly

We purchased this cooktop in Feb 2012 when we purchased our new home and remodeled the kitchen. We love to cook, wanted a 36" 5 element cooktop with a contemporary design and touch controls. This unit fit the bill. Set into the quartz countertop, the cooktop is simple and elegant. Cooking is very fast. Touch controls are intuitive and easy to use. When running on H, the element will emit a low hum/pulse as the temperature in the pot or pan comes up. We did have do buy new pots/pans as our old set was not induction compatible. Easy trick if you have cast iron cookware - place a paper towel on the element, then your pot/pan, as this will avoid scratches on the glass top. First time users should be cautious not to place anything on top of the control area (pan, plate, tea towel etc) as this will cause the cooktop to go into fail safe - all elements will flash E and beep loudly - and you will have to remove whatever caused the alarm, and then wait a moment to touch a control to reset the cooktop. We would definitely stay with induction cooktops in future homes

This cooktop is easy to use and exceeded my expectations. It is very responsive and did not take long to learn the best cooking settings for various tasks. It is easy to clean. I actually look forward to using it!

I bought this a couple weeks ago to replace my gas cooktop. It is ABSOLUTELY everything I imagined it would be!

Within the first 30 days of owning this cooktop it broken. Repairman came out 3 days later and informed us the computer system was completely shot. GE refused to replace the cooktop and would only replace the computer part. The computer part wasn't in stock and would take 30 days to come in. After days of constant arguing (and i mean constant arguing) they said they would either find the part or replace the cooktop within 7 days. The part didn't arrive so a new cooktop was installed another 7 days later. So this cooktop has spent more time broken then working - great product GE. The experience with customer service and the total product failure made me call Home Depot and take back the GE dishwasher we had just installed because the water wasn't draining fully and i can never trust GE or their customer service department. so that entire GE kitchen suite was sent back and i went with LG and boy am i happy. so heed my advice skip everything with a GE label and just go straight to LG

I read and re-read the instructions before I attempted to use this cooktop. I was lucky enough that my cookware actually works well on it and I didn't have to buy any new pans. I LOVE it! It's super fast, and very energy efficient. Cleans up with just a wet cloth.

Am still new to using induction but would highly recommend it. Love everything about it so far!

The breaker is there to protect the wire not the appliance. You can run this on a 30 or 40 amp breaker. you just won't be able to run all burners on high at the same time without tripping the breaker. But who does that anyway?

Our first use of this induction cooktop was fantastic. I'm a guy and it was obvious even to me how to use it without reading the manual. (OK my wife read the manual later and confirmed I was using it correctly.) Water boils much faster than gas, frying bacon is much more consistent than with gas or electric as the temperate does not change. The area about the "burner" does not heat up and everything cools down faster so we don't heat the kitchen up-important in southern FL. We should have switched to induction cooktop earlier.

We switched from gas to induction. The induction boils water and heats much faster than gas. Induction also gives more precise control over the temperature. In addition, the smooth induction cooktop is much easier to clean than the gas cooktop.

Fast, powerful, clean, great looking. I was skeptical until I read the CR reviews giving the highest scores ever for any cooktops to the induction models. (Only negative is the stainless frame that got scratched up in the first week of use - look at the frameless model.) I was a gas-only cook before; now, I wouldn't do anything but induction. Kitchen stays cool no matter how many boiling pots we have going. Almost no lost heat and energy to the atmosphere as with gas. All the energy goes directly to the pan. Low heat is constant and as low as you want to go. Low boil is foolproof. Simmer is perfect, no guessing. My spaghetti sauce simmers for hours at exactly the temperature I want. Impressed with this cooktop daily. Really unless you must have the look of gas, you have to check out induction.

The induction cooktop is absolutely fabulous. It's easy to clean, the temperature control is instantaneous and it looks great in our newly remodeled kitchen.

When we did the kitchen remodel, I wanted this cooktop, gave up other wants to get it. Well worth the decision. I love my cooktop.
