Bought this 2 years ago. Worked great until pump died. It will now cost about $300 to fix. Time for another dishwasher.

Hello Disappointed - this is Nancy at GE. We are very sorry to hear that your dishwasher is not working properly. First, please be rest assured that this dishwasher is very energy efficient, even for a 2-3 hour cycle. Also, if your dishes are not getting clean, please make certain your water enters the dishwasher at 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You may have to run the hot water at the sink a minute or two prior to starting the dishwasher. Next, please use the Steam and/or Wash Temp Boost options to help clean your dishes. If this does not help. please contact GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. Thank you for providing your feedback!

Looks great, works quietly
We replaced a dishwasher that leaked and moaned. This model is nice inside and out. And, it operates quietly. My husband had no problem installing it. GE is a name I can trust.

An Honest Review...
My thoughts after a month of use.
I'm very disappointed with this Dishwasher. The quality seems good, and it seems to function mostly as advertised, I just didn't get what I wanted and that's mostly my fault.
Where to begin...
This isn't the dishwasher I initially researched to buy, but last second changes to the other appliances in my kitchen forced me to make a new selection on the fly and I shouldn't have. I should have done more research. As it is, this dishwasher is a step back from the 13 year old Maytag it replaced
This dishwasher is probably perfect for a single person or couple, but it's small... much too small for a normal family. They show you how it can fit an 8 or 12 service set of dishes for washing. I've seen the diagram, it could work. But you better have all the food delivered, because this thing has limited room for cookware. I have a 14" skillet that I use almost ever other day to cook, that used to fit front to back OR sideways in old washer... in this one, I have to lay it diagonally across the top. Standard cookie sheets don't fit front to back, you have to put them in sideways. The list of won't fit goes on and on, and the reason is the silverware and accessories baskets that they have on the front of the top AND bottom racks. They are mounted outside the rack, so the racks are shortened. With a basket INSIDE the rack, you can take it out and you have more room. With these... that all they do. Less space. No silverware to wash... tough, the basket sits there empty and you are washing empty plastic and starring at the stuff in your sink that you are going to have to wash by hand.
Other tiny stuff... no indicator of where it is in the wash cycle is a pain, as it takes approximately 3 hours to run a cycle. Maybe that is normal, we used to let ours run at night, but now that I am running 2 loads some days, it's become painfully waiting for one load to end to start another. So it might be energy efficient, but I don't think I'll see any savings.
Also, they strongly recommend using the was pellets and not liquid. But then tell you that if you have soft water (like we do) that you should use less detergent. How does that work? Do you break off part of the pellet? I don't know, and I'm not in the mood to find out.
Finally, I knew this when I was buying it, but didn't realize the impact of actually having a dishwasher with an all grey and dark colored racks. It makes it very very hard to see into the dishwasher when you are looking for something you might have dropped etc. The old one was all white and very bright inside, and I took that for granted.
Oh, and as someone else said... sometimes the detergent door doesn't open if something shifted against it or something and there is gooped detergent on the door that never made it into the wash cycle.
So overall, not an awful dishwasher, but poorly designed in my opinion. At least for how I use it. If I realized how small the racks were, I would have never bought it.

Not satisfied - let the other reviews speak for themselves.
Be prepared for extremely L O N G wash times. With unit set to Normal cycle and Heat Boost expect wash cycle to run almost 2 hours, even before the dry cycle kicks in. It does an "ok" job on washing but if you do not select heated dry, expect to towel dry your dishes, even if you start the washer before bed and open it in the morning. For the "steam" feature, no great plus.
If I could return I would.

Hello Frank - this is Nancy at GE. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience. If your dishes are not drying properly, please check your rinse agent dispenser to be sure it is not empty. The new dishwashers are much more energy efficient and therefore will run a little longer. I hope this helps.

Disappointed
This has nothing to do with the product. The GE contractors are limited to installing the product at home whose plumbing outfits are made of PVC pipes. Most homes I know are fitted with PVC pipes for plumbing. I've selected this product because I owned several GE appliances that lasts for years and reliable.
Please review your contract requirements and restrictions. The contractors refused to install the product due to technicality or policy restrictions. This will only increase your clientele interest thus losing revenues.

Good mid range dishwasher
I really liked the look of how the baskets were on the inside but now I feel a need to zip tie the bottom utensil basket so it stays on when I'm emptying the machine. So far no food can be left on the dishes. Good for a mid range dishwasher. It's quiet. Not a lot of features. Gets the job done and I don't have to wash dishes by hand so I'm happy.

It cleans the dishes well, but it is a bit disconcerting that there are a lot of water droplets on the racks even with heated drying.

Dishwasher with upper and lower silverware racks
When I saw this dishwasher at the store I was impressed and loved being able to get a dishwasher with upper and lower silverware racks. However, once home and I have used it I realized one major downfall. The way the dishwasher racks were made were so the silverware racks mounted to the outside, and in order to do that they had to SHORTEN the length of both entire racks. So if you don't need to use both silverware racks you can't take one out and gain any space! They saved on some metal charges, but if someone who actually used a dishwasher designed it then they would have designed it so when the silverware rack was taken out the upper or lower racks would have GAINED SPACE. Seriously, they should take free advise from users of their dishwashers! Disappointed! Not to mention the dishwasher has started not cleaning all the cleaner out of the container on the door and we are only 6 weeks after installation. A service call has been set-up.

Soap dispenser door dosen't open
Automatic soap dispenser door is not so automatic; 90% of the time when we use the dishwasher the soap dispenser doesn't open during the cycle. The soap dispenser door opens when you open the main door to empty what you hope to be your clean dishes but instead the soap drips down the interior door surface leaving a mess...uh uh uha!

Very quiet and simple to use.
I really liked the look of the inside and how the baskets sat on the front until I used it a few times now they're a little pain but it's nothing I can't live with. Our hard water causes me to use vinegar with every wash which will shorten the lifespan of the dishwasher. JetDry and stuff like that serves no purpose. So far it's a decent, mid-range dishwasher that keeps me from washing dishes with my hands and is affordable. I like that it has 3 levels of water. I like that it autosenses. I like that I can wash light loads. I like that it was made in America.

Difficult to load
We had a fourteen year old GE dishwasher in our old house that was much easier and more efficiently loaded, Plates don't fit securely on the bottom rack and cereal/soup bowls don't fit any better on the top rack.

Dishwasher
I bought this dishwasher and it runs great. We do have one major problem. This is the toughest dishwasher to load cereal bowls. It seem to be built for large plates, any type of glasses or cups. I am going to rate it NO in recommending it to a friend but I would if they do not use cereal bowls.

good dishwasher - decent price
I bought the dishwasher about a month or 2 ago. I love that it is extremely quiet. The only thing I dislike is that it doesn't dry all of the water off of the top of the dishes. I probably need to read the manual to find out why.

new dishwasher
I am happy with the way my new dishwasher cleans and that it is nice and quite , love that it has two silverware holders! This being said the spacing of the pronges are far apart and makes it a little difficult to load, also the cup that you put the liquid drying product has very small hole so unless you have very good aim it is difficult not to miss.
