The 6 ft.Polarized Indoor Extension Cord is just what I needed. I don't require a long super duper extension cord. I just wanted a good well made standard extension cord for an old light with a very short cord. With a good six foot cord you can easily reach those receptacles back behind the sofa and have a couple other spots at the end for the vacuum when needed. The great price for something that you need and is all that is needed is great.

This Brown GE 9 ft. 2-Wire 16-Gauge Polarized Indoor Extension Cord with three receptacles is well made. The insulation is thick and the cord has good flexibility. The most surprising feature of this extension cord is its good electrical conductivity and low resistance, enhancing its safety in the home. The electrical conductivity or voltage drop of this cord was tested with a 12-ampere electric space heater and two Kill-a-Watt meters. The cord is rated at a maximum of 13 amperes. With the cord carrying 12 amperes, the cord's resistance was only a single volt drop. According to Ohms law, the cord dissipated (or was heated) by only 12 watts of electricity or a little more than one watt per foot at near maximum rated current flow. This means the cord will remain at a safe low temperature in the home as long as it is not overloaded. An extension cord that gets hot during use is not safe, should be replaced, and may not supply the proper current to the device it is powering.

This is a very good extension cord. It appears to be well made and meets our expectations. The specs are: - 12 ft. - Polarized - 2 wire - 16 gauge - 125V Max - Handles loads up to 13A or 1625W - Indoor Use Only It plugs into an outlet and provides 3 outlets with safety covers that rotate to open/close access to each outlet. It has one outlet on one side and two outlets on the other. It is a little hard to rotate the safety covers but that's fine as it makes it more child proof. See pics I posted.

It's an extension cord but different than the typical low end ones you find everywhere. First of all it carries the GE brand which to me indicates a higher level of quality. But what really attracts me to this one is the tamper guard rotary guards. It is SO MUCH better than those floppy tags on other extension cords. It is rated for 13 amps at 125 volts.

This GE 12 feet indoor extension cord makes a world of difference when you run out of available outlets in certain locations. Its timing was perfect. We were hosting a block party and of course everyone had a gadget that needed plugged in and charged. When the time came to take pictures, along came the need to plug in some extra lights. Turned out there were not enough outlets where we needed them, which is exactly when this extension cord came to the rescue. It was literally a life saver and worked perfect. With its generous length of 12 feet we were able to hide it behind the furniture and at the same time away from the guests and especially the kids, and plug everything in whenever necessary. Besides, its brown color looks much more discreet than white whenever visible to the eye. The problem is solved. This is a good quality extension cord. It has one male plug and a total of three female outlets, two on one side and one on the opposite side for user flexibility and convenience. The female outlets have covers over them that you can open when in use, and close when not in use. All of these plugs are sturdy and well made. The cord itself feels heavy enough that in itself speaks volumes about its quality. I like it that this extension cord is polarized. Its plug has two blades of the different sizes, each one is connected to a different wire; this was done with safety in mind, to reduce the chances of an electrical shock. This cord has to be used indoors only, away from water. It’s best to stay away from this cord while in use; pay attention not to step on it or place objects on it. Do not plug one extension cord into another; luckily with 12 foot length this was not a problem. Oh and don’t run this cord through the doorways. This cord is rated 13 amps, 125 volts, and 1,625 watts. These numbers are important, as the instructions advice not to plug anything that exceeds the stated number of watts into this cord. Overall, I have a high confidence in GE brand products, and this extension cord is no exception. Now we are definitely going to buy more of these cords in view of the upcoming holidays, and recommend everyone to do the same.

This is the standard, thin extension cord of home depot. It is light in weight, also does not have ground pole so be aware of your applications. But it is also handy to have several of these in the house because you never know when you will need one. Also because it is 16 gauge, so you should not use for more than 13 amps (which is around 1400 watts), I believe.

We always need extension cords, and this item certainly fits the bill. It is well made, and a good length. The three outlets at its end allow for several items to be connected. It will carry a full 15 amp load, but in today;s world - unless one is plugging an electric heater or hairy dryer - most items we use today are very low amp devices, and this item will work perfectly,

I like using a two prong extension cord sometimes by having a different size 2 or a 3 prong design. The electrical device can only be inserted by the electrical outlet receptacle way. The three prongs design are used as an extra safety precaution for electrical devices like a microwave or coffee pots. Polarized means a safety feature. I think you can never be too causes when plugging things in with correct cords.

It pretty much is what it is, a 6ft 2-wire 16-gauge indoor extension cord. Like many other extension cords it is light weight, convenient and can be used for multiple applications. Because it is 16 gauge, it is a little bit more durable than the inexpensive ones you find at discount stores. Overall it is a pretty decent little extension cord that if I had to buy another, I would.

its a thick sturdy high quality extension cord. it works for its job. I like it because its small and compatible with its job to make up for the lack of outlets I have in my home. It is nice and simple to use and to apply. I have used it a lot over time and it just becomes better and better to use. It could have been a little better if it was may be a little bigger but then it would not be so easy to carry around so may be not the best to make it bigger but I would to own a bigger one to keep at my home so I would use it just at home and not be very versatille with it. I like it very much and am very happy I ordered it.

this is hard having to write 350 characters on 6ft 2-wire 16 gauge polarized indoor extension cord.You can plug in 3 extra things 2 on one side and one on the other works great behind a sofa to plug in phone and a charger and a rotating fan to save on air conditioning.since the weather has cooled down. great product highly recommend if you need to plug something extra into ...

It's a good length (12 foot), good quality (2 wire, 16 gauge), extension cord made by a great and well trusted company, General Eletric. I do like the way they use the 'spin closure' safety covers for the outlets you're not using at the time. In my opinion, if you're going to run extension cords (which likely all of us do), it would be wise to go with a quality product from a quality company. This is one of those occassions where the old adage of 'it pays to get the best' comes into play.

Sturdy, well designed extension cord with a fairly low profile. We used it behind a couch to plug in lamps on two end tables on either end of the sofa. I really like the brown color which blends better with furniture, flooring, etc. so much better than white which stands out and looks really tacky in a living room or den. It's made for indoor use and light duty... I wouldn't plug a larger appliance or something that needs a lot of power into it.

This is a great, well-priced, short and safe cord for living areas. I use it in our basement as the outlets are too far from the couch. It helps charge my phone while I am watching TV. The brown color blends in well with the medium tan carpet and solid wood paneling. The length is perfect and I don't have to bunch it up in any spots. Each outlet has a turn cover as well to prevent tampering, especially from children. Of note, I run this behind furniture and not across the floor or under carpets where it can inevitably become damaged and cause a fire.

This is a perfect extension cord for light applications. The outlets on this are only two prong outlets. Leave your 3-prong heavy duty cords for a heavier extension cord. These also have twist receptacles so you will have to twist them to plug something in. This means that there will be no electrical contacts exposed until you need them. This is the perfect cord for a table lamp, low voltage charger or other light duty application. The brown color goes well with my dark hardwood floors and is much less noticeable than a white extension cord is.

OK, it's an extension chord. I wouldn't know it from other extension chords I've had for 15 years. The outlets can be turned off for safety by rotating them, a useful safety feature. If you have a 3-prong plug you'll need an adapter. There are three outlets, two on one side and one on the opposite side. A power chord with a transformer on it would have to go in the single plug

It is a very nice and long extension cord. You can never have enough of it. We use extension cords almost in every room of our condos and houses. Also you can use two extension cords together and make a very long one, almost 20 ft. long. This is a very high quality cord, very flexible, which guarantees a long life of it. Being 16-gauge polarized makes it a very safe one as well.

I'm currently using this extension cord for the master bedroom. With a newborn at home I have a lot of electronics to plug in and this cord has been perfect. We didn't need 12 ft in length but better more than less. It gives the option to plug in up to 3 devices with two on one side and one on the other. Also it is great if you have small kids since you can twist the face of the outlet, closing it so no little fingers can go in.

the indoor extension cord has been quite handy. It has flexibility to be used in many applications. Right now I am using it for two accent lights and it has allowed for more flexible designing options. I can see other potential applications around the house for these but also in the home office or regular office space. Since it worked so well in this application I am going to pickup a few more for similar needs!
