We can definitely understand the frustration and inconvenience this causes as this is not the quality expected from a new appliance. With that being said, what you have described does not sound like normal operation, and we would recommend that you schedule a service appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service Team so they can come out and take a look at this for you. Hello- We appreciate you taking the time to contact us. This ice compartment is designed for production of ice cubes and short-term storage (a few days at most). We will definitely pass this information to our engineers and design team though as we are always looking for way to improve on future builds. If you find that it is not making ice at all.
