It was great till it wasn’t the power went out in the area and now the oven doesn’t work because it always say locked and the oven is useless! The eyes on the stove are overheating even with new eye installed!

Very pleased. Shopped for over a year and fianally found this range. I love to cook but unlike most people who cook a lot I don't like gas. This range is perfect for me. I replaced a drop in with a slide in that required some carpentry work but found a good company (Kitchen Tune Up). This range is 1st step on an entire kitchen remodel. Good place to start!

I cannot believe no one but Jim from TX in 12/15 (see his review) and I have noticed that this SLIDE-IN range leaves a huge crack showing between the edge and curved back of the console and the counter top. My new corian counter top was cut to exactly 30" wide. The specs given in the installation instructions from GE for this model say the opening must be 29-15/16"-30-1/16". OK, passed that requirement. This is the width necessary for the back of the stove to slide into place, while the black metal lip rests on the counter top. The console in front is actually about 29-7/8" and the metal is not square in the rear. This has left a narrow crack on the left side of my stove and about a 1/8" crack on the right side. Not to mention the 1/4" hole between the counter top and the rounded off back of the console, plus the long crack all the way across where the console meets the stove top. Food is already splattering all down those crevices. You can see all the way to the floor on the side cracks! I'm not a messy cook; this is just your normal cooking splatter and spills. I had this same GE slide in stove (the 1997 model), and it had flanges on both sides of the console to bring its width up to equal the stove top width. Wish I had my old stove back, as it was more sturdily built (including side panels, which the new stove does not have - I know I could buy them as separate parts but that would require the installers to come back and take the stove out). Pictures are included of the ugly gaps and of the older version of this stove, which was flush with the counter top. I cannot give this anything but 1 star, because it does heat up and cook, but the appearance is awful. I'm considering jamming some shims down those cracks and caulking up the tops. Or ripping it out, giving it to Goodwill, and getting a Frigidaire slide-in which actually is advertised to FIT THE OPENING. This GE stove will not fit your formica, corian, granite, or any cut out area because the back is wider than the front. Don't make the same mistake I did and buy just from looking at pictures online.

The newer design in back caused the receptacle to be relocated, it also does not cover the front of the counter top like the old on. they need to have an accessory to mount on the side of control panel to totally cover the counter top. If there is an accessory , it is not listed, Much more work than the old stove same model but earlier design,

Every several months I have to replace one of the burner controls because the internal contacts are burned and sticking. Luckily I can replace them myself, otherwise, repair charges would have been much greater by now than the original cost of this range.

It’s ok for cooking meals, one of the induction grills doesn’t sit right so my pan is not leveled. I also don’t like the noisy oven. It takes too long to cool down. To speed up the process I leave the oven door ajar

I'm seeing that this model has been discontinued, which is a shame. For one thing, it is a coil stove - much better than those smooth top stoves. But the main thing for me was, the "over hang" on the sides of the stove. All stoves today are manufactured with a width mostly of 29.89", which for me, leaves a tiny gap on the sides. With this "over hang" it covers that gap. If anyone know where I can purchase this model, I'd sure like to know.

Beautiful, black and stainless range. Exactly what I needed. Spacious oven. It is the only slide in I have ever had with the "lip" on each side at the top so it looks great and doesn't leave an ugly crack for food to build up.

The cycle time for the burners is too long. Cooking is not even. Too hot and then to cold. The oven is nice for baking.

We bought this range with the coiled burners because we like using our cast-iron pans. It is an OK range, but the burners and catch pan seem a bit 'cheap and flimsy. I think this model was discontinued just after our purchase.

the numbers rubbed off after cleaning several times

I've had this range now for a little over a month and I've had many of the same issues others have. There aren't many choices in ranges if you don't want a smooth top and this one is the lesser of the evils available, in my opinion. The clock placement is annoying because you can't see it unless you are looking at it from above. The black top is difficult to keep clean. I find glass cleaner is useful. The fan isn't super loud and from what I hear it's not avoidable in this type of range. I upgraded from an older white GE drop-in and hoped the measurements would remain the same. Not so. Some modifications did have to be made in order to make this fit. Performance of the range is as expected. Sucks though that these days one has to pay more for a classic design since glass tops are so trendy.

We have had this stove for about a year now and are very pleased with it's overall performance. We didn't like the burner knobs that came with the stove because they were too tall. My husband went on Amazon and ordered some lower profile knobs that fit perfectly . We had a glass top stove previously and I really wasn't a fan for numerous reason. I was happy to go back to coils when we remodeled our kitchen. The oven preheats very quickly and cooks perfectly. The burners heat up rapidly and provide even heat. The coils when turned off cool much faster than a solid surface stove.

The stove is loud, the fan runs forever, the seam between the control panel and top is impossible to keep clean, and it burns through (the correct) bulbs in a week or two (or less — sometimes the bulbs short out almost immediately). I wish I'd gone with another stove, especially for the $1200 price tag.

We finally have a range that has an oven that works and at the appropriate temperatures that we select. Easy cleaning and looks great inner kitchen. Can not wait until canning season.

Easy to slide in and get started.

I have had this new GE slide-in range for 2-3 months now. It works very well, though the black top needs cleaned after every use. Nothing wrong with cleanliness! Controls are easy, and the oven is good-sized with more room than I initially thought.

I got mine 3 weeks ago i love it the black to is a Little hard to clean but invisible glass takes out the streaks

Good features -- Stove-top is easier to clean than glass-top stove. Stove is attractive to look at, but: Disappointments -- Oven light bulb burned out 3 months after installation, and replaced bulb burned out 9 days later. Sometimes, oven door makes popping noise when oven is heated. Oven light bulb in difficult location to be replaced. Stove-top coils are difficult to remove & replace. Would recommend this stove ONLY WITH RESERVATIONS!!!!!!

We were able without any effort to slide our new stove into our small 30 in. space. I can do so much with our coil heating elements then I could do with our smooth top.Our decision was not made in haste. It took us five months to decide on a G.E..There are no negative features - I love my new G.E 30 in. slide in range.

Oven is more accurate than my last one. Expect this to last til we die.

My builder purchased this for me during renovations. The top is made uneven and a fry pan does not set flat on one burner. I noticed after work done when I came back to unit 5 months later. Felt I would not be cooking that much because I eat out so kept it because it "looks" good.

You have to be standing over the oven to see the display. When it is on the pre-heat cycle it does not show you the temperature so you don't know how close you are to be able to use it.

I have always had a gas stove and was worried that I would be disappointed. I love it!

excellent design and features the controls are easy to use

my old stove was less efficient being 28 yrs old. This one heats up in jiffy time, esp the oven.......love it

Just purchased Dec 2015 - took me forever to find a model that would fit the area my old drop in went but this fit perfectly and the installation was much easier than I expected. Only draw back so far is the fan that runs while using the oven stays on longer than the time I actually use the stove. It stayed on over an hour after using it for 30 minutes. The noise of the fan is very low and not a bother. The fan running that long using electricity is annoying however.

This product leaves nothing to be desired as it cooks faster than any other range I have owned. I paid extra for the coils because I dont like the glass top versions.

We love our new stove. Controls are well-placed and features are convenient. Burners and oven heat up quickly. We couldn't be happier.
