If dishes are coming out dirty and water won't pump out of the tub, you may need to clean the air gap. Hey there - We understand your concern regarding the whining noise of your dishwasher. The pump motor of the dishwasher can make a whining noise while operating and is completely normal. Hey there, we're terribly sorry to hear your dishwasher isn't draining. We know how worrisome this must be and we're happy to help. We first suggest you disconnect power tot he unit for 2-3 minutes to reset the controls. If the problem persists, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. Hi - We certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have a new dishwasher not cleaning your dishes and truly apologize. We would recommend checking to ensure you have a minimum of 120 degree F inlet water coming into the dishwasher as hot water is essential to proper performance. To check the water temperature, run the hot water at the kitchen sink and measure the temperature of the running water with a candy or meat thermometer. Adjust the temperature of the water heater accordingly. If the incoming water temperature is a minimum of 120 degrees, we would recommend contacting an authorized GE service company.
