I bought this for cooling/heating of a 12x24 building. I work third shift from home and the building is designed as an office where I can quietly work. The cooling power is fantastic. A little loud but works fantastic. Nice and cool, filter is super easy to clean. Absolutely no complaints. The heating side I am not at all pleased with. It is a strip type heater and it takes a really long time to get warm and often the fan will kick on for a few moments and kick off before the heating strip is even warm (Which makes it seem colder for a bit). I figured its Memphis, doesn't really get that cold. Even at 40 degree it has a difficult time and takes several hours (or til the sun comes up and warms it up) Now there is another side to this. If you warm the area with a different source and depend on this to somewhat keep it at temperature you have a great combo. My solution on really cold mornings was to use a big buddy to heat the area up to about 70 or so then turn it off and the window unit seems to keep it at about 63-65. In all honesty though if I had known the heating side was so poor I would have saved the $100 dollars bought the ac unit stand alone and purchased an amish heater (which works fantastic in this same area) Overall if you really want an ac with a supplementary heater, this is awesome. If you are looking for a heater to stand alone this might not be the best choice unless your idea of chilly is 55 degrees. The remote has a nice simple layout with all the features (which is really nice). The layout is clean and simple, the filter is easy to clean. The reason I do not recommend and rated 3 stars is because the heat and air unit itself it misleading. It should read 12,000 BTW Window Air Conditioner with Supplemental heat and Remote. And after some digging to see if my heating side was not working correctly I noticed even on the Frigidaire site that this until is actually called "Frigidaire 12,000 BTU Window-Mounted Room Air Conditioner with Supplemental Heat" Bottom Line: Cools fantastic, fan is a tad loud but its trivial loud. Remote is absolutely easy to use, great layout, simple battery changes Unit has a simple clean design, smooth lines easy to operate. Installation was fairly simple. Even comes with weather stripping. Heating should be considered supplementary only.

It has all of the good features of my Frigidaire18000 BTU that I bought a couple of years ago, but with one exception: It is noisier than the very quiet 18000 BTU unit. I especially like the heat pump this winter.

The heat works great but seems to run continuously. Is there a Econ feature for the heat setting?

Works great, easy to install, love the remote. Nice and quiet! Old one was so loud you could hear it hum through the whole 2 story house. We are unable to install central heat and air because the pitch on our 1956 cinderblock home is to low. Wall units are the only way for us to go!

The noise level is what I had anticipated before purchase. It is August and I live in Texas so have not yet used the heating part of this unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are in Arkansas and the other day it was 108 Degrees, actual temp. We had the unit set on 70 and we are cooling about 360 sq. ft. The inside room temp. was about 73 @ the hottest part of afternoon! Pretty great in my book .

Sleek design. Runs quiet. Perfectly heats and cools my 1,000 square-foot home.

Works great, but fins were damaged in shipping.

Received 1 unit, AC portion works, heat did not. Returns 1st unit, received 2nd unit same thing heat not working and unit was dented from shipping. Returns unit switched brands to LG. LG works great.

The only thing I would like to have seen is a real time digital thermometer that shows current temperature. The remote is very nice.

It is a great unit. Just what I needed.

Quieter than most such machines. Has energy saver setting which permits compressor to shut off when temperature is reached. Very nice indeed. I've had it a couple of months, and it's been cold -- I'm using the heater.

So far so good. Just installed and using to heat a converted porch into a room. It's a little nosier than I wold like but does a nice job heating basically an uninsulated room. I have tried small space heaters that don't work well. Would recommend the 220 units.

Purchased three units. All three arrived with damage to the rear fins. Two were only minor, but one had to be returned. The return process went smoothly. The packaging for the units could be greatly improved. It wouldn't take much to protect the rear of the unit. Otherwise, these are decent units that do the job, both heating and cooling.

Heat kicks off before it even gets warm n the room.. very disappointed in what I get out of it at the cost of all most $600.

The first time it arrived it was damaged. I had to drive 40 miles to the closest Home Depot to return it. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ordered this same product again while at Home Depot. The second time it was delivered it looked like it had been rolled down a mountain and yes, it didn't work. I again had to drive 40 miles to return it. I had had enough and just got my money back.

I had to return the product. I installed it into a non-standard window so I had to construct a frame (hampered by the bottom rail). After significant effort and pride in the final result, I slipped the 12000 BTU heat pump into where a 12000 BTU air conditioner once stood. With a smile on my face and a dedicated outlet, I went to plug the window unit in. And discovered only then it was 230V. It would cost me another $700 to put in a 230V circuit. WHY was in not evident that this WINDOW UNIT is 230V? How many people have 230V outlets by their windows in the US where 115V is the norm?
