This model is much better than the one it replaced. Only uses .8 amps when running.
I made a list of 10 refrigerators that would fit our requirements. We have an oak cabinet that the fridge has to fit in. I chose this model because of the size and the Energy Star rating. It only uses .8 amps when the compressor is running. It is also extremely quiet. You cannot tell it's running unless you listen carefully from the back side. Home Depot delivered it for free. This model has reversible doors so they can open from either side. Make sure you do not let the delivery folks out of the house before that's complete. I looked outside and they were gone. In their defense, they came back 2 days later and switched the doors. It has a great light in the fridge section, but no light in the freezer section. It does not have an ice maker. A similar GE model offered an ice maker, but we found out it takes up a substantial portion of the freezer space and requires a filtered water connection. This model does have adjustable glass shelves that are very nice along with large door shelves. We initially had an issue with the freezer door popping open when we closed the fridge door. I sprayed the door seals (both fridge and freezer) with silicone spray lubricant and that seems to have solved the problem. Make sure you spray the small seal strip along the bottom of the freezer door shelf. It now takes an effort to pull the doors open. I installed a digital thermometer set that records the freezer and fridge section temps. Ideal temp is 0 for the freezer and at or below 40 for the fridge. I turned the fridge section up (warmer) one notch and it is at 38F and the freezer is at 0F on the delivered setting. We have had it two weeks now and are very pleased. It is much better than the one it replaced.

Stopped working.
Had this fridge for just about 3 years. It lasted a tad longer than the service package. The fan seems to have stopped and while the freezer stays frozen, the fridge is room temperature.

    Piece of junk!
    This refrigerator is exactly 3 years old & has stopped working. Frigidaire has refused to help in any way. The product is absolute junk. I have never had a refrigerator last me less then 10 years. I will never buy another frigidaire product again! The freezer seems to frost over all the products in it, no matter how full/empty it is (I keep experimenting). Never had this problem with any other fridge, some of which were quite old. The fridge part works fine, but it is barely big enough to hold a 12 pack box of soda. There is room for bigger 2 ltrs on the door, but you have to plan your space carefully.

Try adjusting temperature gradually: adjust the knob in small increments, allowing the temperature to stabilize. • For colder temperatures, adjust the knob towards coldest. • For warmer temperatures, adjust the knob towards cold.                   Failure after 2 years
                  I bought two of these units to replace older refrigerators that made minor issues that could have been address with replacement parts. Instead I decided to by new models that I hoped would last 10 years. Both have had serious repair issues within a 2 year period. 1 appears to be a product defect. Strangely this model has been discontinued shortly after I purchased it.

                    Refrigerator Not Working After Only 5 Months!
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since Frigidaire sent me an email inviting me to write a review, I thought I’d take them up on the offer. They’re not going to like what I have to report. We’ve owned the refrigerator for under 5 months, and it is barely working at all. We bought a basic refrigerator with the thought that with fewer bells and whistles there was a much lower chance that the refrigerator would experience problems. Wrong! The refrigerator worked fine for about 4 ½ months, but then the temperature in the fresh food section kept rising over a period of days until it no longer kept food at an acceptably cold level. The freezer seemed to continue working for awhile, but then it too started to warm up until nothing was frozen and it couldn’t make ice. I emptied the fridge, unplugged it, let it remain idle for a few days, plugged it back in, and it seemed to cool to appropriate levels. But after a short time the fridge discontinued working properly, warmed up, and once again became unusable. Naturally I am quite displeased with this performance, and can award the product only a single-star rating until and unless a permanent fix is implemented. I am willing to try simple things myself before calling in a technician under the warranty. So, Frigidaire, please respond promptly to let me know if there is something I should try. If not, please provide contact information for one of your recommended technicians in my area. I will add that I've thought positively about the Frigidaire brand until this experience.

You may find that the troubleshooting steps below resolve your concern: -Factory suggested temperature settings for your appliance are 37 degrees Fahrenheit in the refrigerator and 0 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer. Temperatures ranging from 33 degrees to 47 degrees Fahrenheit in the refrigerator and -6 degrees to 6 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer are within the acceptable operating temperatures for the appliance. Make sure that you have your refrigerator set to operate within the aforementioned temperatures. -You may find that adjusting the temperature setting to a cooler resolves your concern -Keep in mind that after temperature adjustments it may take up to 24 hours for the appliance’s internal temperatures to stabilize -Ensure that you are able to run your hand over the vents and that no items are blocking the vents. -Is the door closing properly or has the door been left open for an extended period of time? -Check if the cabinet is sealing properly. To do this, place a dollar bill on the cabinet and close the door? When you pull the dollar bill out can you feel any resistance? The bill should not slide out extremely easily.                       After fighting with Frigidaire for six months now to either replace or credit back my CC for a defective refrigerator, I must amend my first review. The refrigerator malfunctioned approximately 1-2 weeks after ownership. The lower compartment got so cold that soda cans exploded. The freezer works fine. After three visits from one repair company, who threw parts at it, and then 3 more visits from another repair company who ordered more parts, the refrigerator is still useless. The ordered parts are different from what the unit requires and will not work. Frigidaire is aware of this but continues to let this drag on. I firmly believe their stance on this issue is to wear me down until the warranty period has expired. Home Depot is not to blame but I do wonder why with so many bad reviews and terrible customer service on the part of Frigidaire why HD continues to carry this appliance. Buyer beware; do walk away but run from anything labeled Frigidaire. I tried to return this to Home Depot but because Frigidaire is involved they said they could not accept it. So now own a large white paper weight until Frigidaire decides to accept responsibility for a defective product. This has been an six month ordeal, still not resolved. I have contacted the Department of Consumer Affairs and the BBB in an attempt to compel Frigidaire to accept responsibility and replace this appliance. Their (Frigidaire) condescending representatives have mastered the technique of trying to pacify customers with pleasantries, but no results. DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

                                  I own an apartment complex and have purchased this refrigerator only to find that it fails within a few months or so. Trying to get warranty service is next to impossible. In addition to the unit failing, I have to refund the tenants for spoiled food, pay maintenance labor to swap out the refrigerator, and make amends with the tenants. I have about 7 dead units in the basement. A complete waste of money and resources

                                    We needed a simple mall refrigerator without a lot of fancy features for our basement to replace our 70 year old Crosley Shelvador (still running but the handle fell off). This Frigidaire is energy star rated and fits the bill. We've had it a couple of weeks now and it keeps a steady temperature in the freezer and refrigerator. It is very quiet. I'm sure it won't last as long as the Crosley (I bought the5 year Home Depot warranty based on the short life reviews I see for most appliances these days). The Home Depot delivery and set-up were excellent.

The ice tends to build up and then the fam stops working, causing the fridge to mop longer feel cold. However a technician was able to fix that for me and it's worked fine since. I have a small apartment and needed a fridge that would fit. However, given the choice I would not buy this size fridge for a larger space.

It would be nice to have the freezer hold -10°ƒ but I'll settle for ≈ -4°ƒ. Slightly smaller than what preceded was a good move. You really need at least an inch breathing room on all sides, 2" would be best. So, now I won't let things sit in there for months on end.
