screen door was delivered to the store as promised on time. the installation was a breeze. there was a slight dent in the mesh from poor handling, but straightened out okay.

I ordered a door for 36" inside frame measurements, when it arrived it was 38" wider with assembly. The only true way to make this door fit was to mount the security door frame on the outer frame of the door structure which looks perfectly fine after installed. Just make sure the main security door frame is supported with blocks on the bottom to get the desired height before drilling holes, recommend using a level at top to insure its level, from there your on your way to a great installation.

It was the wrong size, so I had to return it. It didnt look easy to install though :/

make sure u measure good also found I that I couldn't put a door knob because it hit my main door, door knob so now I have to have it open in the opposite direction

The door does not come with a screen nor do they come with glass which is not expected. The mesh screen that is attached does not protect from bugs...a bird is not able to fly in but any type of fly, bee, or any other bug can easly get in. You definitely don't want to leave the door open to allow the air to come in. It did not come with door closures or door fixtures such as locks or door knobs. Spend more money and get a better door!

We really like the price and quality of this security door.

My husband had help installing this door. I did not hear them complain about the door being difficult to install but after installation the opening and closing of the door is rather noisy. It seems as if the perforated sheet metal is warped, nothing that a few extra screws couldn't fix. The concern we have now is locating and purchasing an attachment to keep the bugs from crawling in from the bottom since there is an approx. 1.50" gap between the door jam and the door itself. For the price I would definitely recommend it.

I gave a 1 score for each category because none of these count without a functional door. Spent additional time installing the door handle and dead blot lock (not included by the way!) and upon installing the one-way screws for the door frame I discovered that the door won't close flush with the frame due to these screws sticking out about 1/4 inch. Now I have one-way screws, which cannot be removed, preventing the door's proper installation. Called the store...we will see how much help they will offer tomorrow or maybe the next day...........

Product was what we needed and wanted and of course, the price was great....

While I like the appearance and heaviness of the door, there were some problems. There were several dents in the frame and some bends that had to be straightened. we had to have a contractor do the instillation. Also, there were areas where the finish had been damaged. Once installed, it does have a good look. Damage appears to be by the manufacturer.

This screen door is working well with keeping our dogs in place while we are able to have the main door open to the fresh air. We have not had the opportunity lock the door for our safety but I believe that it will give us more comfort. I really like the way that we were kept informed as our order was processed and the door shipped; we were also pleased with the service when we went to pick up the door.

easy to install, looks great. Everything needed to install comes in the box. Would buy it again without hesitation

I bought two of these for my mom's house. She loves them! I like the added security and the fact it keeps the bugs out. Good door for the price.

We picked up our security door, which was wrapped very good, opened it only to find some clown from the factory put a bent piece of the frame in with the door. There's no way that was an accident. We took it back to Home Depot. We only wanted the bent piece replaced, which they did and apologized profusely. I'm giving this high rating for Home Depot.....not First Alert Security doors. On the door, one of the spot welds came loose. Didn't notice until it was hung. Cheap door....cheaply made.

Door is WRONG SIZE ! Ordered 36x80 door, but actual size is two inches wider. Obviously doesn't fit the hole. Worthless. Too bad, looks like good heavy metal. Maybe I can chop it down.

Not very well manufactured as its welds make it difficult to hang properly. It was a nightmare to install to get it to swing properly (flush with door jam when closed) and close securely. It's hinges are welded and can be slightly off square leaving it mounted in a slight warp.

I have a gap on the bottom of door, about 2in., what product can I buy so bugs can't crawl under it?

This door is attractive, and functional. I wanted a security storm door, so I could safely leave the house door open, for air to get in. I had the door shipped, and it did have a twist and slight bend to it. We were able to straighten it out, and the door is pretty sturdy. We put a knob and bolt lock set on it, and it's nice and secure now.

I bought this door for 2 reasons. The price and the the look. I have been very pleased with both!! It was very easy to install. It provides the security that I wanted and is a very attractive addition to my home.

I ordered 2 doors, a 36" and a 32" online and picked them up at the store. I was surprised when I picked them up, they are pretty heavy. Once I got them home and unwrapped them I was really pleased with the quality and appearance, they are strong and look great. A couple of tips. Add a six inch vice grip to your installation tools. When you have the holes marked for drilling move the door and frame out of the way and drill the holes. Use the vice grip just below the bolt head and thread the bolts into the holes, then take out the bolts. This makes it a lot easier when you use a screw driver for the final installation. If you screw up the positioning of the bolts and have to remove them, no problem. There's a flat section around the head of the bolts. You can use the vice grip to remove them. Drill out the misplaced hole with a 5/16 or 3/8 drill and tap a piece of dowel rod into the hole. Your all set to go. For the real security minded person. Once everything is in place and your happy with the installation run a file around the bolt heads and take of the flat. If you ever need to remove the bolts at a later date use a thin cutting wheel to grind a slot in the bolt head and use a screw driver to remove them. Hope this helps out.

Door was made very well and was surprised at the level of quality for a lower end door...If you need security and dont want to spend big bucks I would go with this....Gonna get another for basement door now..

Specs say assembled width is 36in....WRONG...it's 38.5 like all the other 36in doors.....now I have to take another on back and probably have a custom one made because no one sells an door with an assembled width of 36in. Irritating....on saying yes on recommendation of the product due to the low cost and it'd be great in a place it actually fits!

My sons is moving out so I was looking for some security for my house. I love the mesh screen and lock support!!! I can now enjoy the outside view while I sit and watch TV. I have one in my kitchen so I can also open my back door to get some breeze while I cook!!!!!! INEXPENSIVE AND A GREAT DEAL!!! I LOVE IT!!!! great if you have small children

The door is very sturdy and is definitely living up to my expectations.

Not sure how to secure the door with a chain for when the wind blows up here on this hill, it might be a challenge. And finding a way to put a storm on it for winter. Other then that as I said I love the door and it is very secure. I could leave the main door open at night with just the security door locked and I would feel very secure.

I don't write reviews, but I love this door. I got it for my little apartment and it fit perfect. I like how you can't see in from the street during the day time and I like that it is a screen door. We lived where it is hot so it is great for that. I enjoyed this door so much, that I am getting another one for my house.

I will admit it was fairly easy to install but I had a bugger of a time trying to screw in the security fasteners that were provided. I couldn't find a screw driver big enough to fit the slot. It also had some damage on the top of the frame that won't hamper using it and just decided to installed it anyway. I tried to order this a few months earlier and would have picked it up in the store but they wanted to add a shipping charge to it so I said no. It surprised me when they offered free shipping to my front door ( go figure). I would have saved them money and gone to the store to pick it up.
