This was just what I needed for my storage area. The width and height were the perfect size for the storage area. I loved the fact that it is black in color and don't stand out like the chrome ones. I purchased three shelving units and I am very satisfied with my purchase and the usage. They exceeded my expectations.

I purchased two of these and my garage looks so much better. Things go neatly on the shelves and are very accessible. These shelves are very sturdy and strong. It's exactly what I wanted.

I love this shelving unit. It is huge and gave me a fantastic amount of storage. Super quick to put together, and it is probably the sturdiest and beefiest shelving unit of this type (and I have several) I have ever had. Very satisfied with it, and recommend it highly.

Not as sturdy as i thought

Sturdy. Easy to assemble. Shelf couplers did not always fit together well.

Poor quality, one of the shelves was broken. The shelf edge support that surrounds each shelf was separated from one of the shelf itself on one side. The shelving was still usable, but not for anything heavy on the one shelf.

Good shelves. I purchased three of these for a basement storage area. I picked them up at the Home Depot and the boxes looked like they had been roughly handled with a number of tears. I feared that these units would have been damaged, but I was pleased to find that the boxes and packing had protected them quite well. The directions are simple and straight forward. When followed, the units can be completed easily. The directions called of inserting the adjustable feet, but these came with the feet already attached to the legs. The plastic wedges which lock the shelves onto the poles/legs worked well and snapped into place quite easily. I had to adjust several shelves after assembly in order to fit certain storage item and I had no trouble doing that. Also, there were spare wedges in every package. I did have one wedge which was broken in shipment and the spare was needed. I have a similarly constructed stainless steel model which cost three times this cost and these powder coated units are the best value, by far. The box is heavy, about 70 pounds, and having two people to handle is preferred, but not required. Also, two person assembly would cut the time by more than half. However, I did it all alone and it was not difficult. The only tool that may be needed is a rubber mallet, but I didn't need it and the shelves are working well.

It does take two people to put it together simply because of the size. Other than that, it was very easy to do and was exactly what I was looking for. The bottom of each post is adjustable so the shelf can be leveled out on an uneven surface (which apparently my garage isn't level).

In the past I have assembled several metal shelves with little to no issues. However, the shelf made by Excel company is horrible, the metal poles would not connect being that it arrived with corrosion inside the screw part and the plastic clips that keeps the shelf together does not fit properly and just kept popping out. Don't be fool by the low price, it is poor quality and metal has rust. To avoid disappointment and frustration do yourself a favor spend a few buck more, buy another brand like Trinity metal shelves which is the same size, has extra shelf / wheels and are much better quality. Would not recommend Excel shelf, Had to return item cause it was defective.

A very nice looking product for organizing my business cartons.

I measured the space where the unit was going to go. The measurements for the unit seemed perfect. Make sure you add about an inch to your measurements to account for the flare on the outside of the shelf mount openings. I'm not sure what the technical term for this would be.... but the corners of the shelves have openings that fit onto the posts. They are flared out wider than the 60" I ended up scraping up my drywall on one side trying to wedge this thing into place. I hope that makes sense. Otherwise the unit seems sturdy and well made. It is pretty heavy but i was able to put the unit together by myself.
