I have installed on the door where children cannot reach, so that they won't open the door and walk away.
with less than $3 you can make your house doors child proof/safety.

Bolt Up Right!
It's a barrel bolt, so it's not very exciting. If you need to keep something closed, however, it can't be beat. It works smoothly, is sturdy, and can be locked into more than one position. The only caution would be about the finish. I bought online, so didn't see it in person before buying. It's called satin brass, but looks more like shiny brass that has been heated until it gives a slight rainbow effect. Worked out fine for my purpose, but if you need to match existing hardware I would recommend seeing it in person before purchasing.
