I used these to construct a faux stump for a local theatrical performance of Wind in the Willows. I purchased four packs. They worked well for my purpose.

Head came off when I screwed the first screw into my work piece. Tried the second screw, same thing. Even had pilot holes. Cheap junk, don't buy it.

Purchased these a week ago for a small job at home - little did I know that these screws are junk. They break in half under a lightest pressure - I struggled to even get them into my kitchen cabinet wall by hand. Drilling a precise hole for the full depth and even applying lube on the screw - even those measures resulted in a mixed success. I swear, these screws must be only good for putting them into putty. Anything more dense than that, they will be breaking in half in your hands, right where the threading ends and flat surface begins.

These screws work if you're careful.
Having used many sizes of Everbilt wood screws over the years, I’ve gotten used to how they perform. They are not made of the strongest metal out there which means if you have to put a lot of torque, you should probably pre-drill AND use a screw driver that fits the head exactly. As long as one knows that going into a project, these screws do work and are a good value. For these particular screws, I only needed four but felt like the price difference between a small package and a 100 count package was a no-brainer. Now I have some the next time I need them.

I had a project involving street signs depicting our favorite teams' stadiums, a 4x4 post and 1/2 x 3 support boards. Hence the need to screw the boards to the post. And then the signs to the boards. Voila, a cool new addition to our backyard. I drilled some starter holes to keep the task of getting into the post a little easier. I countered them so as to not bulge out to the signs. A perfect fit for the job at hand.

The purpose of these screws was to stabilize the front door to the home. The builder used 1/2" screws for the front door. The 2 of the 4 screws I initially used, snapped where the unthreaded shank meets the threads. Therefore, as soon as I have time, I will be heading back to Home Depot to return the extra box I purchased that while it is a different size (#10), it was made by the same manufacturer. The only reason I am returning the box even though it is a different size is that it is the same brand I purchased elsewhere, and the same thing happened. I purchase a much more expensive screws used for decking and those worked fine. All in all, I love my Home Depot!
