This pry bar was incredibly useful for me and my family when we were replacing the boards on our deck at home! The grind angle and thickness of both of the prying faces are just right for being forced between boards. The broad prying surface is forged at a very nice angle with respect to the I-Beam handle to give a significant amount of leverage when prying, and the 90-degree prying surface is an unstoppable force when driven between objects by a hammer. The steel that this is made from is wonderfully strong, yet surprisingly light, and hardly shows any signs of the outright flogging we gave it with the flat face of a heavy, ball-peen hammer (also an Estwing product) while we were prying up boards and stubborn nails with it! Really, the only complaint - and this is more of a suggestion for improvement - is that the I-Beam handle doesn't have Estwing's shock-absorbing grip molded onto it like many of their hammers (including the ball-peen we were using). If this had that grip on it, you could use it forever! Overall, I am very pleased with this and will keep it on my tool-belt when I'm doing anything similar!

This 18 in. I-Beam Construction Pry Bar is very useful and strong. It is very effective to remove the stubborn hard to reach nails. It grips the nail head well and doesn't slip i am able to remove most of the nails with one crank. Its been over a year i am using this tool and it still looks and feels like new. Very high quality material.

I love the style of this bar, but I've broken the flat end off of 3 of them in the last 5 years. I thought the first time was just a fluke occurrence. The second time I was definitely pushing the envelope on the tool, but the third one almost pitched me off a deck twenty feet to the ground. It snapped very easily. I'm done wasting my money on these badly designed tools. They break in the same place all the time, obviously a design flaw.

I bought the Estwing 18 in. I-Beam Construction Pry Bar at local Home Depot. I mainly used to pull up the weeds in my yard. The root of the weeds got so big that lawnmower could not cut them. I used this Pry Bar to uproot the weeds. This Pry Bar is really strong and light weight. After one month of daily usage, there was just a little dent on the head of the Pry Bar. I have used two other different brands Pry Bars before purchasing this one. Both Pry Bar's head have been deformed since they they could not stand the continuous hammering. So the bottom line this Pry Bar is outstanding.

Great pry bar shoulda bought it 30 years ago

Works very well. Able to get into narrow spaces and comfortable to either push or pull on. Just be aware that the edge corners are very sharp.

This thing is a beast! The claws are well machined and the I-beam construction is executed masterfully. This thing gets great leverage without flexing a bit. I strike it with a carpentry hammer to force my way behind nail heads when replacing siding panels that are rotten. It helps me be very efficient!

It’s heavy duty and does it’s job for residential small project.

The unusual shape and nicely ground ends make this took comfortable, effective and light for its strength.

Strong, light, I beam construction makes it extremely strong. You can beat on it, pry with it, the shape is perfect to easily hammer under a board and pry it up. The I beam construction also limits vibration. Great tool!

Sturdy small prybar.

Best pry bar I have used. I am a residential handyman. And I have used it to pull tac strips from concrete and tear off old decking boards off a deck. This thing was way better than the 9inch flat bar I was using. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good general demo bar.

Perfect shape. Would like to have an 18 or 24 inch one also
