After much consideration, I decided to spend over $3000 for 8 pairs of solid maintenance free solid BLACK shutters. The slats are rough and therefore did not take paint consistently. I don't work at factory, but my hunch is that after the WHITE PVC board is milled, they go into the painting process and get 2 (maybe 3) coats. The finish on the flat areas are inconsistent and the slat area is gray (not black). No inspection or quality control before shipping? I will return ASAP.

They look great. Went with the pre-primered shutters. Easy to paint. Easy to install with help from my neighbor. Highly recommend them. Positively changed the look of my home with minimal investment. Get compliments from my neighbors. Very satisfied .

These shutters are good but there are severe problems with the installation instructions and parts. Please use these notes as a guide to save you time and anguish if using their supports to hang shutters. - Molly anchors are fine, but if you have to put them into brick be prepared to use a hammer drill and concrete bits; drill first with a smaller diameter bit and then a ¼ bit - Plexiglas hanging supports may not be pre-drilled correctly; only 6/12 of mine were drilled far enough away from the edge to prevent it from cracking and most importantly from drilling into the shutter too close to the front of the shutter and not the middle; despite making their requested 1/8 pilot the front of one shutter split. - These are composite, not typical wood so pilot holes cannot be 1/8 and must be 9/64 as the composite wood does not give and will split; the screws will also strip upon insertion and may not even be able to fully seat - Take note if you have a window sill as the predrilled spot in support1/4 is close to the end and you may not get access to the whole to place into shutter - If you have to make new holes in the Plexiglas either use Plexiglas drill bits or wood bits, put masking tape on both sides; start from a pin hole size bit and work up to 1/4 in size needed

I received these today and I’m very impressed. They’re sturdier / heavier than expected and the paint job is great.. they almost seem too nice to put outside. They arrived earlier than expected and were packaged well. Not cheap, but after seeing them in person I can understand why.

Be aware that the shutters are shipped in 2 packages (one with the shutters and one with the hardware, brackets, etc.)

These shutters add so much to the street side of our house. They are lightweight and easy to install

While the rest of the shutter looks great, the slats are a rough finished material so they do no take paint (even with two coats) smoothly. I would purchase so many more if they were the the smooth consistent finish. Disappointing

Shutters were very good. A challenge (solved with a long trip) to get hardware to hang the shutters.

Absolute garbage. Who in their right mind makes an exterior shutter out of particle board? If you buy these and live anywhere where it might rain (ever), then expect to pay mucho dinero for a primer that can expand/contract and a paint that does the same. Ridiculous the price they charge for these. One bit of moisture and your shutter will swell right off your house. Don’t buy these. Don’t just take my word- go ask a painter what it takes to make these usable.

Product was of very good quality. I had to return it because of the finish: primed but not painted, surface rough to touch like sand paper. Would like to order this product, but afraid I would receive again an unfinished product.

Once received, I was very happy with our purchase; however it took a very long time with frequent misquoted delivery dates. Called HD support and opened a case which quickly resolved the issues. The shutter is very durable and was packaged well.

The shutters were terrible. They looked like they had been sanded and painted over without removing the dust prior to painting. They had rubbed against each other during shipment and were scratched and looked terrible. Spoke to a store manager about the condition of the shutters and all he said was sorry. That they can’t control what’s shipped Donto them.

Complete garbage. Who in there right mind would make an outdoor shutter out of particle board. The amount of money and time to find a primer that will expand and contract and paint to do the same is very expensive and exhaustive. The ‘pre primed’ ones are worse as it is of such low quality you have to sand off the primer before you spray a decent primer on! Don’t buy these. Especially at the price they want.

Who in the heck would make an exterior shutter out of particle board? The lead time is a month so I was forced to find a primer that would expand and contract with the pressboard. The ‘primer’ you use is garbage so I had to strip that off first. I wouldn’t recommend your product to my worst enemy, especially for $207/pair. Complete trash.
