The lining on the back is thin, they are definitely not blackout curtains. A lot of light comes through. They look nice, but will not work if you are trying for blackout.

This is NOT a BLACKOUT curtain. It is a curtain panel with a white back that still allows some light to come through. If you're looking for a true blackout curtain, keep looking. This is not for you.

Really really good, it doesn't quite 'black-out' the room, but it basically blocks out the light and affords you the privacy you are looking for. Good material and great color with as-advertised measurements. We have other curtains from Target that aren't even along the bottom but these are!
