Great unit, but don't try installing it alone.
This door is made of heavy glass and looks very nice after installation. I had an experienced contractor help me install this door and I am glad that I did. First, note, this is a very heavy door, make sure you are anchoring it to studs within your wall. Second, the hinges once mounted on the door have very little margin for error, so make sure your holes are exactly where you need them especially when drilling through tile as we did. Third, the free standing panel sits on the surface of your shower pan, it has no adjustment for height so install your door exactly 5/8" above the threshold so your glass will be even at the top. When installing the free standing glass there is about an inch of adjustment to make up for non plumb walls, be careful when you pull or push the metal frame as it can scratch the surface. The one complaint I have is that the instructions called for siliconing the glass to the moveable frame piece. When making the width adjustment the silicone bond was broken and we had to take it apart and redo that part of the job. Also, once the glass is in place make sure it is where you want it because you are drilling holes to permanently anchor it. I felt the wall was very stable once installed, but I did use the angled brace at the top to make sure it would stay firmly anchored. It is a little ugly, but not really that noticeable and actually makes for a handy spot to hang a wet wash cloth while showering. The door includes clear plastic strips that slide over the hinge side, closing side and bottom to completely seal the shower. They are a little confusing to cut around the hinges. Read the directions carefully. They are a little stiff at first and kind of make a squeaking noise but they limber up quickly and they do the job of sealing the unit. All in all it is a very nice unit at a very reasonable price, I have only used it for a week, but I think I wil be pleased for many years to come. The installation took about 4 hours, but probably half that time was spent carefully drilling holes through the tile to anchor the hinges.

Salamander
Excellent poduct . Very easy to install although 2 people should be used to install the door properly. This door seals very well, just make sure the walls are plumb because you do not have a lot of clearance between side panel and door.

High quality product
After receiving the door, I called a custom shower door installer because the shear weight of this door seemed like it required a professional. The installer was expecting a piece of junk when I told him I bought it at home depot. In the end, he was really surprised at the high quality of this door and the ease of installation. This door cost us about $500 less than what it would have cost for a custom door of similar quality. If you plan on installing the door, there are several things that should be taken into account. First, your walls should be relatively plumb. Secondly, the shower door is only 72" high. Third, make sure you are within the range listed. Our opening was exactly 46" and it was tight. Lastly, be sure you have support behind your walls. The door is extremely heavy.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, " All glass should be inspected thoroughly for imperfections upon receipt and prior to installation. Glass is fragile by nature and the edges of tempered glass are vulnerable, especially during installation. Care must be taken when handling tempered glass. Any trauma to the corners or edges with a surface harder than itself (tile, marble, another piece of glass, etc) may result in breakage. Any chips or cracks will compromise the integrity of the glass and installation or handling of the glass should be stopped immediately. Dreamline encourages the installation of our products to be performed by a professional, while having the assistance of another person, due to the size, weight and fragile nature of the product. Once the door is assembled and in place, the completion of the installation should not be lengthy. We are glad to hear that our expert Support Department was able to assist you quickly and replaced the damaged glass immediately. Please call DreamLine’s support department for replacement of the damaged glass. Dreamline’s expert customer support department is available to answer any questions the consumer may have prior to or after the purchase, in order to make a more informed decision. Whether it is size, finish or specification question, we will be there to help you decide what is best for your particular situation. Not so frameless shower door
This model came with a support arm that attaches to the top of the passive panel and the wall at a 45 degree angle. That takes away from the frameless look we were after. This bracket wasn't visible in the on line picture of the unit, or in the description. Anyway we opted to forgo using said bracket. I think it will be fine as long as excessive torque isn't applied to the panel, IE slamming door or leaning against glass panel. Install wasn't to difficult but if you aren't at least moderately skilled, you might want to hire this job out.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to the MFG for more information and below is their response. "Thank you for purchasing a Dreamline product, your feedback is appreciated! The support arm must be installed with the door to provide stability for the glass panel and is clearly visible in the photos provided, as well as in the technical drawing (also provided). Not installing the support arm may void the product warranty. We recommend contacting our Support Department with any technical or installation questions or for further assistance, at: 1-866-731-2244 or via email: support@bathauthority.com".

    Excellent Shower Door
I am a DIY'er and I installed it myself with the help of the manual. Anyone can install this as long as you can pick up the door (it's heavy). The quality of the door was excellent. I appreciated having the extra hardware they provided w/ the kit (I almost stripped one of the door screws installing it). This just proved to me that they want the customer to be happy with their product and I was. Some things to note: Its helpful to have another person there to hold the door to measure and mount but not required. The manual is descent but found myself looking things up online because it wasnt covered in the manual. No where in the manual did it discuss any of the door frame mounting gaskets. Use them as they were provided in the kit. The door is very heavy so make sure you have wood studs to mount the door frame screws too. The manual says to sink them in the framing 2X4's but the pictures show using the wall anchors. Dont use the wall anchors on the door! Also there was no waterproof gasket provided for the piece that anchors the side glass to the curb. Make sure to use plenty of silicon sealant on the screw hole and the underside of this piece to prevent water penetration. Overall.... I would buy this Unidoor shower door again. They make an excellent product!
