Thank you for your feedback. As you can see from other reviews on homedepot.com and other websites, DreamLine's SlimLine shower bases are very popular and most customers feel they exceed their expectations for quality and performance. We regret that this was not so in your case. DreamLine shower bases are mass produced and the drain location is predetermined for each base. The technical drawing accurately illustrates where the center of the drain will be on your particular shower base. If the drain location were incorrect on your base, it would be incorrect on hundreds, if not thousands, of other similar shower bases. DreamLine would have replaced the shower base for you, had we known of your situation. Every one of our shower bases is installed exactly the same way. Customizing installation manuals to each specific size would add to the cost of the product and is not necessary. DreamLine does place our Customer Support phone number on the front of every manual to assist with questions before, during and after the installation of our product. We are hopeful that you took advantage of this and was able to find the help you needed with your installation. If you are still in need of assistance, DreamLine's Customer Support Team can be reached by phone at 866-731-2244 or by email at support@dreamline.com. We are available M-F from 8am-7pm EST and Saturday from 9am-5pm EST. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback and for choosing DreamLine. bathauthority

Instructions not particularly clear (keep in mind that installation was by experienced people, including a professional renovation carpenter with nearly 50 years experience). Hard to understand why sidewalls are wider than the width of the shower base and require field trimming. Vertical seams between panels don't lay flat (about a 1/8" gap) and a lot of flex where they overlap requiring excessive caulking. Where the water control mounts on the left side, the center line is within a couple inches of the seam between the side & corner panels. The escutcheon for the control therefore overlaps the raised seam, making it necessary to shim the opposite side and caulk the large, irregular gap that results. Seems like this whole system was designed for corner unit and/or wider base installation and the 30" rectangular configuration was an afterthought. Whatever the reason, VERY disappointing for the price.

Thank you for your feedback. The DreamLine Acrylic Walls that you purchased are able to be used for several different sized shower bases. This is why trimming at the job site is required for you to customize the panels for your installation. When installed properly, there should be no gapping or flexing of overlaps. Once caulked appropriately, there will be no leaking. DreamLine Acrylic Walls have become a very popular and durable alternative to tile among our customers. If you need any help with replacement parts, we invite you to contact our DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866-731-2244 to discuss this further. We can also be reached by sending an email to support@dreamline.com. Our hours of operation are 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm EST. Thank you for choosing DreamLine and for your feedback. bathauthority

The first two arrived damaged on the corners. The corner shelves should be reinforced like the bottom shelf bevel with backing. I can see the shelves breaking in the future due to thin material. The side panels were cut crooked on both sides, so you will need to trim the joining side before cutting. Other than that it was a good project.

Thank you for your review. DreamLine Actylic Walls are intended to be installed over finished walls and are well within the industry standards for thickness of similar products on the market today. I would pass on this product
My contractor said the side walls were fine, but that the drain base was flimsy and would probably break within a year. I returned the product and bought something else.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your contractor felt that the DreamLine SlimLine shower base was not sturdy enough. DreamLine shower bases carry with them a limited lifetime warranty and have been used extensively in private residences and commercial properties without issue. We believe that had you gone forward with the installation, you would have been happy with your base, as numerous reviews on homedepot.com and other websites can attest to. We thank you for considering DreamLine and are hopeful that we will be your choice in the future. bathauthority

      Ontime
This walk-in shower will replace a full size bathtub and shower combination. I had to go online to Dreamline products to locate the installation instructions for the shower surround. Dreamline had included the generic installation instructions but not the specific instructions for the Q-3 shower wall. I will begin the removal of the old tub and shower next week.

      Good enough
Installed quite easily with a nice finish the only downside is a lack of trim or finishing edge for the top of the walls. I ended up using piece of vinyl edging material and caulking the voids then added asmall border of tile togive a more finished look

        Less than great
Solid base but junk walls. Would not pay $300, much less nearly $800, if purchasing again. Walls are thin, very flimsy but easy to install. I guess it depends what your after but for $800 I expected much more. Be sure to see it in person before making the purchase.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we have reached out to the vendor and their response is, "Our QWall kits are designed to be installed over drywall or tile and not directly to the studs, therefore the 1/8" thickness is adequate for this application. The thickness and durability is not inconsistent with what you can purchase from most other manufacturers products on the market today. This product is very thin, fiber glass backing in just the corners and if you want to properly install this you would need a drywall or plywood backing. not an easy install

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we have reached out to the vendor and their response is, "DreamLine's QWall kits are designed to be installed over drywall or tile and not directly to the studs, therefore the 1/8" thickness is adequate for this application. The footrest for the corner piece is reinforced with fiberglass due to the amount of weight and pressure that is put on that particular area. We use quality materials to make our wall kits and trim pieces and stand behind all of our products 100%. The design of our product is not unlike what is on the market today for similar kits. a little disappointing
I'm a fan of dreamline shower pans. these are great ,well constructed items when set in a morter bed are fantastic. The surround however was a GIGANTIC disappointment. Im a general contractor and have installed 15 tubs and showers this year and this was by far the worst one. the packaging looked good but they put one of the panels in between a couple of boxes. (the rest of everything was packaged in boxes, foam and bubble wrap why this piece wasn't is a mystery.) It had broke in transport. the company was willing to replace it for free??? which all sounded good until they asked for my credit card. the reason I ask.... just $188 for transportation they say like I should be excited about it. The surround material scratches at the slightest touch and can't be cleaned with anything but soap and water or it will be ruined they say. It also should be noted that even though I ordered this as a package the side panels they sent were intentionally manufactured 6 inches too big and had to be cut in the field to fit leaving a razor sharp edge as I had to cut it with a razor which took 30 minutes per side and about 8 blades for the knife. For something that cracked when it flexed, scratched when it was touched and was basically poor quality in every way it sure didn't want to cut all they way through Buy the base but don't touch the walls in my opinion

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, "Thank you for your review and we are glad that you are please with the base you installed. We are sorry, however, that you had an issue with the panels. The DreamLine QWall kits are designed to be installed over drywall or tile and not directly to the studs, therefore the 1/8" thickness is adequate for this application. We use quality materials to make our wall kits and trim pieces and stand behind all of our products 100%. The design of our product is not unlike others on the market today. The panels are sent oversized as they are meant to be trimmed-to-size at the site. This is usually able to be accomplished with a straight-edge and utility knife by scoring the material several times. It is a good idea to use a fine grade sandpaper to take any rough edge off resulting from cutting. The walls are made from a Durable acrylic/ABS construction which will resist scratches under normal conditions. It has not been our experience that they scratch easily. DreamLine does recommend using warm soap and a mild detergent as many of the chemical cleaners on the market today can be harsh and have abrasives which may damage the finish. Our DreamLine shipping department takes great pride in how they package our products for shipping. Acrylic walls are fragile by nature and must be handled in a proper manner. Our products are crated and palletized for shipping to prevent any damage or loss while in transit. Unfortunately, once it leaves our facility we cannot control how the carrier handles the product. According to federal regulations, anything delivered via common carrier (tractor trailer) needs to be inspected within 3 days of delivery for damage and or missing parts so that a freight claim can be processed. If damaged and/or there is found to be missing parts beyond the 3 day window, the customer is liable for shipping costs of replacement parts. Because of the volume of product that DreamLine ships, our freight charges are much lower than if you would have had to contract a carrier to deliver the freight yourself. Freight charges are also calculated by distance and your item must have been going to the west coast for the freight charge to be that high. I am sorry if the freight delivery charge was delivered to you in an unacceptable manner. I can assure you that all of the Customer Support technicians search for the lowest rate, are aware that freight charges can be expensive and are sensitive to that. Should you have any other issues, or wish to discuss the issues in your review, please do not hesitate to contact the DreamLine Customer Support Line at 866-731-2244 or send an email to support@bathauthority.com.

        First time for this.
This can be installed by an average handyman. Things to watch for are the amount of caulk and construction adhesive that will be used. If having never done one of these as a replacement for a standard tube you need to be aware of drain size being difference (2"instead of 1.5" tubular pvc) and that the original drain for your tub will be under the pan. With this unit you will have to design your own edging. To do it again I would spend a little more on a unit that has a slightly raised shower pan and a more distinct outer edge. Also beware of your fixture location with this unit. Do to the shelves which are beneficial you will have to locate the fixture slightly off center in the shower area to allow the fixture trim ring to be flush with the side wall. This unit has a very low lip on the outside of the pan. A solid shower door would be recommended.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. “ DreamLine recommends the use of Liquid Nails 715 or 915 for the installation of our tub surrounds/backwalls. The instructions provided on the Liquid Nails tube will provide the approximate coverage, to help you decide how many tubes will be needed for your particular Q-wall kit application. When installing the Q-wall kit, please, follow the installation manual’s step-by-step instructions in order to make sure you have the correct and precise location for your pluimbing fixture when cutting the backwall. If your current fixture trim is too large, you may want to consider updating it to a more modern style. The Dreamline Slimline shower base has no lip on the outside of the pan by design and can be seen in the provided images and technical specification on the product listing page. A 2” compression fitted drain (not included) is needed to complete the installation of the Slimline base, as per instructions in the installation manual. Depending on your waste pipe size, you may need an adapter. Our bases come with a left hand, right hand or center drain location. If you are replacing an existing tub with a shower, please check the technical drawing carefully prior to purchasing, for correct drain location. The Slimline base has a lower profile sill, 2 3/4" than a standard base which makes it great for stepping in and out and is less obtrusive looking aesthetically. Dreamline’s expert customer support department is available to answer any questions the consumer may have prior to their purchase, in order to assist in making a more informed decision. Whether it is size, finish or specification question, we will be there to help you decide what is best for your particular situation. Good product, easy to install.
The shower stall arrived as advertised and installation was very simple. The only problem was the non perfection in squareness of the walls which was not the problem of the stall. However with some slight adjustments it went in and looked nice when finished.

Adequate, except plastic for shelves is way to thin
The plastic is so thin that a mischievous child could probably poke dents along the edge of the shelves. If you tap on them it sounds and feels akin to an empty 2 liter pop bottle. They should be reinforced with fiberglass from behind as the foot rests are. In fact I would recommend that anyone buying this do just that. Probably one of those foam filler would work (I wish I had thought of that before installing mine). Other than the shelves, the rest is supported by sheetrock so the thickness is not an issue there. The shower pan is of much better quality. It feels very solid.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, The Q-Wall acrylic wall system needs to be installed against a solid surface such as drywall or tile. The acrylic walls are to be attached to your substrate using an adhesive designed for this purpose and which is safe to use with acrylic. The shelves have a 3 degree pitch to allow drainage and prevent water from pooling in the corners. The walls and corners are produced square but if care is not taken when cutting they can be cut out of square. This model is designed to be trimmed to size during installation to allow for the customers unique situation in size and fit of the shower space. shower kit
I was disappointed in shower kit. first I ordered a 3 pc tile look. I got plain 6 pc with the base. should have send it back but husband said what a hassle. the package held a backside, 2 side panels, 2 corner shelves and base. had to rebuild back side and walls for more support. lots of cutting and caulking at least 4 tubes of caulk. also shelves not made to fit anything without falling off. no contour for shampoo bottles afraid the would slide off. not worth it. also slider doors we ordered fit very well except there is a gap of about 1/2 inch when closed. no strip inbetween to seal when taking shower. my other doors had strip to seal tight so water did not leak through. not to happy

Unfortunately, we are not sure what product you may have ordered, however, the kit outlined in the product details contains a shower base and backwalls with plastic shelves, as pictured. The Q-Wall acrylic wall system needs to be installed against a solid surface such as drywall or tile. The style of walls you mentioned (the style that includes a pair of acrylic corner shelves) are not offered with a "tile" textured surface. This model is designed to fit a back wall 31-1/8" (+/- 3/4") and side walls from 29-7/8" - 40-1/2" and is trimmed to size during installation. The acrylic walls are to be attached to your substrate using an adhesive designed for this purpose and which is safe to use with acrylic. The shelves have a 3 degree pitch to allow drainage and prevent water from pooling in the corners. (We have no record of your purchase of a shower door, so we cannot comment on your opinion about that.) If you have any questions regarding the installation of our products please contact us at 866.731.2244 or Support@BathAuthority.com

Could be better, could be worse
Other acrylic base's level much easier with shims where this one needs a lot of prep work or else it creaks like and old man's knees. The point of a product like this is ease of installation, the base prep work required ruins most of that ease. The walls are also very difficult to cut, a utility knife works but it takes some time. I actually used a drummel tool because the knife option just took way too long, not at all reasonable. Basically it comes down to paying $800 for something I took out of the box and felt like it was worth $100. But at least it functions as needed.

Dear Lemire, We reached out to the MFG with your review and below is their response. "The installation of our low profile base is relatively simple. It is designed to be installed onto the sub floor directly against the studs. The base gets set onto a bed of mortar or plaster to aid in leveling and does not get screwed to the studs. The fiberglass reinforced acrylic base is more than sturdy enough, but additional bedding material may be added to provide more support. Depending on the conditions of your floor, some shims may be used to hold the base level until the mortar sets. Using a utility knife is the suggested tool to trim the acrylic backwalls to size. You are free to use whatever tool works best for you provided that it will not damage the product. We cannot say whether the retail pricing of our wall kits is comparable to other manufacturer's acrylic wall products, but our wall kit is designed to go over drywall or tile. and the thickness should not be an issue once it is installed. Our Support Department is available to answer any technical or installation questions you may have and can be reached at 1-866-731-2244"

It is a nice looking shower stall.
This product seems to be fairly high quality and fairly easy to install but we had to send back both corners as they arrived damaged. The second time they arrived they were double/tripled packed. You would think that they would do that the first time around. This mistake set us back a week in the project. Make sure that you put something under the pan to support it as there was some give to the base that pulled the caulking away from the walls and the contractor had to go back and use some expandable foam to correct this installation flaw after the fact.
