Works as it should to find the circuit you’re tracing. The switch, on the other hand, needs a guard to keep from turning it on unnecessarily. I added a toggle light switch guard for the fix. See pic.

The Switch is way to easy to turn on in a case. I tried the O Ring idea, and it worked but impeded the pressing of the Switch and was very difficult to remove. So I’m using a small paper clip and that takes care of the issue for me.

I was able to use this to trace a circuit from a screw-in fuse box to an outlet without removing all the fuses.

Doing engineering work on commercial building had hard time locating breakers for exterior GFI. This device located the breaker on the very first try over 800 feet away. Easy to use, light weight. The only thing I didn't like is the button will turn the device on when you move it around or put into your work bag ext...

On/Off button is a joke... who designed this thing? You can't store it or carry it anywhere that you might breathe on the button - it turns on and beeps instantly. You have to hold it for 3 seconds to shut it off. The thing works as advertised but is useless unless you want to unscrew and remove the battery cover and battery every time your done using it, then replace when needed...? It supposedly has an auto off, but I tried storing it in my bag with my other new Klein tester and it kept beeping at the slightest touch... RETURNING IT along with my Klein non-contact voltage tester, which after one day intermittently will not beep when voltage is located. In fact, I'm returning all of my newly purchased Klein tools - not impressed.

This product is extremely easy to use. It can quickly identify unknown or unlabeled breakers in moments. Great for inspection services, handy man and home owner. The price is more than reasonable as a first step indicating tool. It will turn a 2 hour, up and down the stairs job into a 20 minute piece of cake. I would recommend it for every tool bag.

It does what it's supposed to do. Easy to use (follow the instructions... especially about letting the tool learn the panel.) Nice loud tone and bright green arrow... Signal was strong enough for the 1800 Sq Ft House I was working on. The price is right. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the annoying on-switch function. The switch to turn it on is very touchy. You barely bump it on anything the unit powers up. (In your tool bag)... A hard case would be nice or an On-Switch that has more resistance or one that you must hold down for a full one or two seconds. It functions this way during the off-cycle to power down.. You must hold it down to have it turn off, but you can turn it on by barely touching the switch...

I had a series of outlets and some unused switches that need to be removed or renewed. I used this on the outlets to determine the correct breaker to turn off. This breaker was in a large panel of thin series 2 pole 110 breakers along with a few 220 V breakers. Hooked up the test leads plugged in the transmitter scanned the panel and first time found the breaker. On another attempt possible my fault I was mistaken by one breaker on the thin series 110 V. I think I was not careful enough to allow the breaker finder to beep on the correct half of the breaker. I wish that I bought this years ago. Small price to pay for the quick results in finding the correct breaker. As stated in prior comments, go slowly over the panel of breakers. I also a time or two turned off then back on the sensor to double check myself. My panel was in a back room maybe 60 feet from the switch/outlets.

Let me start by saying this unit works great if you use it correctly and follow the directions. It would at best identify two breakers side by side as the target but I'm fine with that...it's better than having to test all 50 breakers to find the one you need! I agree with the reviews about the on-off switch being much too sensitive, but there is an easy fix! Take a small o-ring and insert it under the lip of the switch, this secures it from being turned on in the tool bag but still allows regular operation (see photo attached) This idea cures the problem and makes this unit worth the money.

Perfect for when you are doing electrical work on your home and need to find a lost, unknown electrical circuit.

I bought this when I was starting out and it served its purpose very well. The only nitpick I can think of is that it constantly beeps inside my bag because of the placement of the buttons. I'm sure by now they've improved or maybe a case was available for it that I didn't know about when I bought it 10 years ago.

Tried circuit breaker finder at 6 different properties and does not pickup even 1 breaker. Just makes a noise. Don't waste your money on it, it does not work

AWSOME device. My circuits aren't labeled! This took out the guesswork.

Simple to use and worked like a champ. Only down side is the location of the power button makes it way too easy to accidentally turn on and off.

For the price it will do what needs to be done but this is home owner grade only.

seems to work as is suppose to... makes finding breakers easy. only complaint would be location of the button and or how easily it is activated - Turns on accidentally when you pick it up
