We use these locks on closet doors in our home. They do an excellent job, if installed to hold the door very tightly with no give, will wear out prematurely, in less than a year. They are adjustable, but you have to remove them from the door if they are on the top of the door, when there isn't much room between the top of the door and the ceiling. As long as they are installed with those caveats you'll be as happy with them as we are.
