CLAREMONT 30 IN. W X 18 IN. D UNASSEMBLED VANITY CABINET ONLY IN NUTMEG OAK review: This is a quality cabinet that can hold quite a bit of weight. The components are good quality and the picture instructions are easy to follow due to the fact that all of the parts are labeled and match the diagrams. Assembly was pretty straightforward and all the screws and parts were really excellent. When I got everything assembled it was a bit loose so I got my impact driver and inserted a Phillips bit and tightened all the joints up - worked great! This thing is cavernous inside and does not have any drawers so you have lots of room. Once assembled, I mounted a large and heavy piece of furniture on it just to test how strong it is - it is strong! Glad we got it. There ya go!

This vanity arrives unassembled with all the required hardware included for a fast and easy assembly. Its got a solid wood door frame. That males it feel strong and solid. Assembly should take 30 minutes or less even for a beginner. Pieces are all well marked and though the directions are simple, they are easy to follow.. Makes for a great completed project that will be a nice addition to any bathroom at a good price.

Whilst the doors are solid and of a good make, the rest of the paneling is of fiberboard so if it is heading for your bathroom, be aware that some sealing should be done. Assembly took around an hour. Standing back to take a good at the `finished` product I was horrified to see Part `E` (front cross brace) leaning against the wall. There was only one option for me and that was to take it all apart and start again as the hardware was already installed in the side panel. Looking again at the instruction booklet I realized that I had mistaken the `F` as two separate pieces. I did find that the instructions are not the best at displaying where all the hardware goes, and commonsense is needed at times. (Like realizing a cross brace is missing before completion duh!) Cam lock screws were tough to screw in. I discarded the supplied wrench in favor of a Phillips screwdriver as the supplied wrench was damaging the head of the cam screw. The drill holes for the dowels are oversized and tend to fall out so I used my own wood glue., discarding the supplied small container of wood glue as substandard.

Recommend only for inexpensive utility cabinet. Looks good from a few feet away. The only part that is oak is the doors, everything else is low density fiberboard with a plastic cover. The packing was good so it was shipped with the damage shown in photo two at the back of a side panel that would show in some locations. Not problem for me as this is going in my shop. Did have problems with several cam lock holes not being chamfered and drilled out, also see below. The cam lock screws would not go in so you have to chamfer the hole first or the plastic coating and particle board will tear, then drill out to 15/64" to get a good fit. The cam locks included a 4mm hex wrench to install but the wrench stripped several of the cam lock hex heads but a #3 Phillips screwdriver will drive them in and out well. Also the instructions do not help you with the euro style hinges which have to have adjustments and the way shown to install them is the hardest way to do it. None of this is a problem for a handyman but would be for an inexperienced homeowner. If not experienced with euro hinges I recommend studying up on them. If you install in a damp space you must well seal the exposed sides of the particle board along the bottom as it will absorb moisture and swell badly.

Just came the other day and opened it and was quite surprised was better than I was expecting, is a little on the heavy side at right at 50 pounds, is well made and they did an outstanding job on most hole they drilled, was a couple treaded hole that were a little tight but that was way less that expected. doors and hardware they supplied is good quality. Took about an hour and a half to put it together, only thing I changed was the wood glue they supply is ok but mine is better so did not use theirs. Now I have to order a top as was waiting to see the unit before I ordered that, so is sitting in my shop for now. Is a good buy for a bath cabinet or any other use you have in mind

I like the solid wood doors of this cabinet. Even though the rest of the cabinet is particle board, the solid doors really make it look like a high quality vanity once it is fully assembled. The color is more yellow than I'd prefer, but I think we'll end up painting it once we redo our bathroom anyways, so the color does not matter to me. Assembly was very easy, and took me about 45 minutes. The dowel holes were oversized, but a little bit of glue solved that issue very quickly, and this didn't affect the final quality at all. The only tool that was needed was a phillips screwdriver. For the price, I would have expected a slightly higher quality vanity, but if you're looking for a vanity that looks nice and is extremely convenient to assemble, I would recommend this one. You could build one of the same quality yourself for cheaper, but this set is so convenient it will save you hours of your time. The only quality issue I had with my set was that the felt pads that are intended to make the doors close softly were not placed in the right location to contact the vanity. This was an easy fix, as I just had to move the pads so that they were lined up correctly, but it was slightly annoying.

Bottom drawer and cabinet door don't line up perfectly, but not noticeable if you are standing and looking at it. I only see it when I am in the tub. I also think it should have arrived at least mostly assembled.

I had my contractor install this vanity and the sink shown 21 years ago. I chose it for the honey oak color to match the moldings in my 117-year old house. It has held up very well over the years. I am buying the same product to replace my worn vanity and scratched sink basin. I did not care for the vanity finish with monthly use of cabinet polish, which I am going to with this new one. I believe I will paint it with a coat of polyurethane to increase its wearability. I am also going to make sure I don't pour boiling water down the sink or scrub with abrasive cleaners, which marred the finish. I expect this set to last for at least 20 years and probably more, with careful upkeep. I love the space behind the door, where I store all my cleaning supplies, body lotions, shaving lotions and mouthwash bottles. The drawers are spacious and still roll smoothly. I use them for my brushes, combs, mirrors, and my son uses the bottom one for his hair products, razors and shaving cream. I am very pleased with the look of these two products and would recommend them to anyone who wants a good value and good looks for the bathroom!

It was the right depth for our small bathroom. We paired it with a 18 inch unassembled vanity and a marble slab. Kitchen wall cabinets and a pantry were added for storage, also in honey oak.

The cabinet was sent to our home and it had to be assembled. Wish we had known that ahead of time. The hickory door on display in the store was wood but the”oak” that we ordered was particle board. We would have gladly paid more for the wood. We returned it and Home Depot kindly refunded our money.

This review is on the Claremont 30 inch vanity cabinet in nutmeg. We have a very small masterbathroom in my mother's house that was in desperate need of repair. We didn't have much of a selection for this size and then we saw this vanity. It came unassembled which was fine (I obvisouly saw the box it came in). It came with all the pieces and it did assemble rather quickly (about an hour) . I thought is was going to be kind of flimsy but actually to my suprise it was quite sturdy. The doors are solid but the rest is kind of an MDF or Fibreboard partical. So don't get it wet. I always lay a thin pan inside all my cabinets and put a water alarm as well (you can purchase at home dept for about 10 bucks).. This way if there is any excess mositure or any leaks the alarm will go off and you can save yourself from a disaster.

This is a nice vanity. The structure of it is made of what I call particle board, but the doors are solid oak. The rear wall of the vanity has no rear wall. I suppose you could buy a rear wall for it if you wanted to; they are generally only some thin material for that rear wall, like heavy duty cardboard, which is inexpensive. The vanity will be screwed into your wall anyway, so I am not sure it really matters. It is reasonably priced, and it looks nice. I have another vanity similar to it in another bathroom that is 34 years old and still looks great, could almost pass for new. I am not crazy about the fact that the walls of it are particle board, but on the other hand, I have custom cabinets in my kitchen; I paid more for the small cabinet over the refrigerator 34 years ago than this vanity is selling for in 2018. I have looked at vanities that range in price from about $150 to $1,000. This is an attractive vanity; it looks nice, and it has a low price. As for the particle Board, my maple custom, quality plus kitchen cabinets also have some particle board in them. I developed a water leak under the faucet, found the floor of my custom cabinets are all particle board which swelled when it got wet. The walls of my custom cabinets are solid wood covered by a laminate on the interior of the cabinet. My kiitchen cabinets are indeed quality plus, but I paid a LOT for them, so they should be. The $1,000 vanities are really nice, but if you don't want to spend a $1,000 on a bathroom vanity, this vanity may not be solid wood, but it is very attractive, it looks nice, and is sold at a reasonable price. Again, the one that I have had like it now for 34 years still looks great.

Overall, great product for the price range. Assembly was straightforward. The only problem I ran into was that the screw holes for the door hinges were not all located quite right. With a bit of tweaking, however, the doors lined up. Not that a big deal. It would be nice if the drawer slides didn't take up so much room so the inside of the drawers could be a bit wider.

Solid doors are nice, but the color is extremely yellow and not very natural. Great packaging. Dowel holes were oversized, and a few of the screw-in metal post holes were not under-sized. Used lots of glue. Only model of this style I could find. At the price, however, I wish I built my own instead.

    Sucks!
Holes not drilled correctly. Screws missing. Back of both drawers missing! I'm sure a lot of people mistakenly complain about "missing parts" however, my husband is a retired Carpenter and knows missing parts when he he sees them!

Limits options and decision to purchase was good.
As I only needed this one vanity in a small bathroom I had the choice between making a cabinet and purchasing a pre-cut unit and assembling. I'm happy with my choice. Quality is fair to good - I expected more solid wood and less particle board but it's solid where it really needs to be. Assembly was easy except the runners on one drawer were installed wrong and had to be removed and replaced properly. The instructions were thorough and easy to follow. I had no issues in installation as I anchored to the wall with cement anchors (TapCons) running through tile and cement block. I would have preferred all solid wood construction but it's a good unit and I would use it again if needed. Time saved was probably about 1/5th the time required to design, cut, assemble and surface a new build.
