Works and good in low traffic areas but due to being plastic I would not use in high traffic areas

The inside falls out and the outside plastic brakes. Biggest waste of money ever. The slider...doesn't. Now I have to replace them at twice what I paid for these, I guess you get what you pay for except I don't like buying things twice. Don't do it unless they're in a wall or under something that will never be noticed, but on the floor where anything can be put on them or they can be stepped on it's crap.

My old steel grate left rust marks on my tile floor after time, I replaced it with this grate to eliminate that problem. The grate is well built and looks good, but I would not put it in a traffic area as it won't hold up to being stepped on.

Works well for what I need

The plastic register does not have any flaps to control its opening and look very cheap although it is very reasonably priced. I ended up returning it.

A well made affordable product. Nice clean edges and a working grate. The plastic is heavy enough to hold up for many years. The finish is usable as is or can be painted.

These grates are very attractive and fit and work well. However they are plastic(as advertised)and will break if weight is put on them just right.

The grates are lightweight and beautiful so far so good!

These floor registers look great, are dishwasher safe, and cost less than any of the comparable ones around. Buy them and you'll be glad you did!

Upon receiving four registers, I verified that they opened and closed. I installed them and they fit perfectly. However, after stepping on two of them (190 lbs), I found they would no longer open and close; the undersides which move were stuck. I removed and adjusted the registers so the undersides moved again. But after stepping on them again, they again stuck. Then one of the undersides fell into the duct. Not impressed.

Hard to open and close. So light it dislodges and flies out of the duct from the air pressure if I manage to close it. Uncomfortable to walk on.

Matched up well with our light bamboo flooring. It's out of the way so no worries about it being plastic.

I don't understand how anyone could give these registers four stars, because they fly off the floor when the heat comes on. Hilarious! The first time, anyway. So be advised that you will have to fasten them down to the floor somehow. If you plan to screw them down to the floorboards, be sure to cut your vent hole as small as possible so you have some lip room to work with. Otherwise, you may be able to use some temporary adhesive or tape. In one of my rooms, I weighted the register down with heavy plate washers, dangling underneath from strings. I think this is the best solution, as it is no impediment to removing the register for any reason. Also, the plastic is VERY lightweight and if you step on one or put a heavy weight on the little slider tab, the sliding part will get out of place and you will have to fiddle with it to get it sliding again. It's not a huge problem, but don't use one where there will be foot traffic. And they won't last forever, but that's okay since the price is pretty low. The good things about these registers (and why I use them) are: (1) the color and design is so minimalist that the tan color basically disappears on an oak floor (and the grey one matched another floor perfectly & you could spray paint them to match any floor); (2) they are very quiet when closed or partially closed (I bought & returned a classy, expensive, bronze grate because it was unbearably loud, open or closed); (3) they can be opened and closed instantly with a toe or a foot, no bending; (4) they are cheap, so you can just use them until you find your dream grates.
