The product does quickly and easily setup with standard hose without applying pipe cement, but using Teflon tap is a more preferable method to tighten the fittings, further more, it also compatible with Rain Bird RSD (rain sensor).

Product was easy to install if you read and follow instructions carefully. Just the right Timer for a small back yard garden. Have had no issues with the System.

I ordered 6 of these. 2 were dead on arrival. One of the replacements was also DOA. So it took 9 of these to get 6 that work. I have very serious doubts about their durability. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use these in areas where reliability is required.

Works great saves my customers money and it gives them peace of mind to know that if power goes off their landscape will still be cared for.

This is the third dig solar timer I have purchased, 1st one was great, lasted about 3 years. 2nd one barely made a year, so i'm trying a 3rd one...

The valves work very well. I installed 5 of them so far and only one of them is loosing time. About three minutes per week. Very easy to program. Well worth the price.

Mine has worked perfectly for two months since I installed it.

I have three of these at my house and will be replacing them all with a different product. Recently came home after a weekend away to find one of the valves had become brittle and snapped at the connection. Needless to say water was spraying all over my yard and resulted in a $400.00 water bill. DO NOT BUY THIS VALVE.

I purchased this item for a location I could not run wire to and so far it is working perfectly. It is easy to program and seems to be fully charged when in use. Execelent product!!

Thiis product resolved a major issue with controlling a remote area watering. the only issue that I had was having to replace an existing solenoid was having to adapt the water lines to accept this unit. After the installation was completed, programmed the timing and its work just fine..

DOA would not chage up, so no display.

Works great ... just what we needed for our vegetable garden.

No need to run wires from a panel, no digging a trench to run wires in, you don't have to remember which colored wire services which valve. Replace your valves with this when your old ones burn out. The only drawback is the color, they only come in black. The hot Arizona sun really heats them up and white would reduce that problem. I'm surprised that DIG hasn't considered this since they are based in Cali.

I bought this timer and valve to irrigate my small garden. After the first irrigation cycle, I had water running all over. It was the anti-syphon valve leaking. I elevated the valve on 8 inch risers to decrease the amount of back pressure. Still no luck. After inspecting the anti-siphon mechanism, I found it was a piece of flimsy plastic with a cheap rubber seal. Bad design and cheap parts.

Easy to install. Great idea and product. Allows me to irrigate an area that would have been terribly expensive, and perhaps impossible to irrigate without it.

I have four of these installed so far and there will be more! The first has been performing flawlessly for almost three years now. Its not the cheapest valve on the shelf, but if you are looking for an alternative to the traditional wired control this is good choice. Simple, clean installation. Put it anywhere. No wiring hassle. I've placed all of mine below grade by cutting a small round hole in the lid of an irrigation box and mounting the control head on top.

I have not had any of the grief described at all in the lower rated reviews. I am on my 2nd one because the first one started to leak after 3 years in the hot AZ sun. (The 2nd one I installed in the shade, since it only requires ambient light to charge.) I have zero complaints about this model, and love hove seriously programmable it is, I mean there are so many options, it would take an entire year to test them all. I love this unit and highly recommend it.

I had the battery (9 volt style- no longer offered) installed previously for about 1 year on my irrigation system, when the solenoid on the valve quit working. I wanted to replace it with a solar one, as it would be too much trouble to run power to the location. In my local area all I could find were the solar ones with the back flow preventer. I was very hesitant about purchasing this style model but went ahead with the purchase, as my time was short for leaving AZ. for the summer. As soon as I installed this, I hated it! As the back flo preventer wasted more water than I thought was necessary for safety reasons. I arrived back home in AZ. last fall to find this valve not shutting off completely. I have since ripped this model out and went with an Orbit battery one which, I hope I have better luck with. The Orbit unit seems much more quality construction than either of the Dig units I have used in the past.. Great Idea! just poor quality.

I think the dig solar timer is one of the best ways to water areas where wires for other valves would be a major task to install.

For those with dead ones, look at the sticker under the programming unit and see if it says SW 1.43. If so, its from a bad batch (from China? no, really?). The good news is DIG Corp stands behind their product 100%, so call them in Vista CA, talk to Felipe or Stuart in Tech Support, tell them what you have and mail it back to them, and they will send you a new one. Bad news for my plants that have suffered and died though.

With our water rationing this is more important than ever. Was trying to find my receipt - naturally it is gone. I had the cover open while I was changing a sprinkler head (to turn it on and off) and the thing just died. Don't know if it was the 105 heat that did it but it is good - as long as it lasts - but I don't think it is of good quality - design - materials? Can't say.

I have 4 of the battery operated version of this anti-siphon valve and when they work they are great. This new solar powered version is the same or better build quality. The issue I have had is that sometimes the valve wont shut off. I've tried cleaning them internally and making sure there is a full charge, it just doesnt shut off. one of the battery operated one does the same thing. be prepared to change them out until you find one that works and it seems like this is the only game in town for remote watering

I have two of these, and both are dead. After a while the panel goes blank and you have no control, and it stops working. It is a great concept, but these are very unreliable.

Easy to install. Instructions are clear and setup was a breeze. The most difficult part was waiting for the sun to charge it up so I could program it. I will be buying another as soon as my next watering zone is completed.
