I've used the tape twice and it split down the middle.

Absolute garbage tape measure. Will not retract properly, the last time I used it the tape got wedged inside, can't pull the tape out now. Wouldn't matter anyways, tape is cracked at the spot it got wedged, useless now, never again buying a DeWalt.

The tape measure I received in not the tape measure that is in the pictures on the Home Depot website. The only reason I considered ordering this tape is because the tape in the pictures and the video showcased the big hook at the end of the tape measure and they advertise the tape having 1 1/4" wide tape I measured it to be 1 1/8". With all of the other problems I have had with Home Depot in the past 2 weeks I don't know if I will continue doing business with them. Bait and Switch is not good business.

Used it ome time, for about a 20’ measurement. Not only did it no recoil. It bunch up and is now stuck out 7” no matter how much i spool it back out

Functions great, lightweight, magnetic tip, up to 10' before the tape bends & I have multiple of these. Great buy for anyone.

So I’ve owned this just over 2 years with minimal usage. Bought to replace a Stanley that broke. I don’t know how the numbers are put on but it’s poorly done. A large section of the tape came right off. Now it’s worthless. The magnet is good but meaningless without numbers. Will probably go back to a Stanley.

This tape was hands down my favorite. DeWalt is now extremely limited on what the warranty will cover. I work in all weather conditions because the job has to be completed, no mater what. This tape fails when you use it in the rain or with wet material. A rusty and cracked tape is not covered and DeWalt won’t replace it.

Get stuck easily and already get broke because when it return the tape twist and don’t move at all

Own 2 of rhe 25ft tapes. Im a home improvement contractor so use tape measure non stop. Been struggling find a tape measure i like ever since stanley did away with the max steel. This tape worked/was my new favorite until i have 2 of them 2 months old and had one break off at 2 inch mark today walked to the truck grabbed second in pulled it out measure a board and it snapped off as well at 7inch mark. Wish it could be warrantied or replaced by dewalt as they are not a cheap tape measure ro buy

I bought this tape measure Saturday and the clip broke off today and the tape it self snapped and recoiled it's self. No i would not recommend this product.

It did not resist a fall from 20 ft and then I bought another one and after a day the tape bent so I don't think I will be buyinh another dewalt tape anytime in the future

What a great tape measure DeWalt has come up with. The rubberized exterior is perfect for somebody out on the field you can drop it and bang it and it's not going to get scratched or dinged up like old school tape measures.

Rigid for more than 10' and hooks the ends in all directions. Very satisfied!

For the longest time I kept getting longer and longer tape measures. The longer they got the heavier they got. Thirty-five footers have their place, but they're just too big for my taste. The DeWalt 16’ Made in The USA compact tape measure if anything is handy. It’s got a good feel to it. The tape is nice and wide at 1 1/8” and with only one measurement scale it is very easy to read. The tape has a rather deep arch but the arch doesn’t interfere with reading measurements or marking project pieces for that matter. The tape is glossy but the gloss doesn’t interfere with reading. What’s impressive is the strength of the tape. I extended mine nearly 12’ without support. That’ll come in handy sometime when I’m working alone. The hook is interesting. As with other brands, the hook adjusts for taking an inside or an outside measurement. The hook has a rather large couple of claws pointing upward. The claws help scoring work pieces. The belt clip works well and is neither too rigid nor too pliable. For my use, this is the perfect tape measure. Oh, and just take your time removing the DeWalt 16’ Tape Measure from the display card.

I own many Dewalt tools and that's why I got this tape measure when I needed one for work I could trust. Was dissapointed when it did not recoil as expected and broke down after a few uses. I dont recomend it for work usage.

After only a few uses the first 3 feet curls back and forth when trying to free measure a wall. It will extend out 12' - 13' but you must keep it very still.

These tape measures are great for rough carpentry and framing because it has a big hook. The actual hook has the ability of being thrown 10 feet without the tape measure getting locked up. I use it every day and dropped it many times and it still works great. Very sturdy for a tape measure. Maybe mine is faulty, but the tape starts to collapse around 11'6". I still love it though.

This tape measure is built well and looks great. However the hook end of it is very thick and beefy. If your thumb is in the way of the hook end when the tape is retracting it will tear skin off, draw blood and leave a blood blister. This happened to me several times within the first week of use. I recommend a different tape measure.

This tape is tough! It's the quality you'd expect from Dewalt.... which is why you'll pay more for it. Oversized clip is convenient and the tape is easy to read. I like that it is durable and can withstand hitting the ground. I tend to drop things regularly so durability is important (I should wear a helmut and steel toe boots 24-7). This thing is fat though (~1 3/4" without the belt clip) versus my old Stanley 25 footer (1 7/16" without the belt clip). It's also heavier which I'm sure lends to the durability. I tried extending the tape to 13' based on the claim that it wouldn't fall, but it bent just over 12'. That's good enough for me. It has lanyard holes, but no lanyard... they could have included a lanyard, but most of us use a tool belt anyway. No biggie. Great addition to my primary tool box!

This is a fantastic tape measure. It is sturdy, well constructed, and rugged. Definitely not flimsy in the slightest bit, and it is great for long range measure. The tape band width itself is about 1 1/4 inches which is great for reading the numbers. The end bracket on the tape measure is durable and has a great grip- won't slide off what you're trying to measure. So far have been using it primarily on lumber, but it has also proved to be quite durable outdoors and perfect for my projects. Great product!

Wish it would have a brake to stop it from sliding back in so fast
