It's perfect for my small workshop. I read all the positive as well as the negative reviews, and made an educated decision to go with this saw. I don't regret it at all. I know it doesn't accept dado blades and the miter gauge is cheap plastic. However, it's an awesome saw for it's price range. Having an accurate fence was a high priority for me, and it has exceeded my expectations in that department. The rack-and-pinion adjustment knob is very quick and easy to use, the fence stays square on its own, and the blade-to-fence measurement readout is spot on. I've used it for several projects already and I am not disappointed.

    Awesome saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Saw is great and has that solid DeWalt quality. The fence system is what sold the saw to me, it's leaps and bounds ahead of it's competitors. Dust collection system is good. Overall great feel. It was hard to find this saw as the industry seems to be going to the 8" blades away from the 10", happy I grabbed this one when I could.

      Great table saw
I sold my Ryobi table saw I purchased from the depot 2 years ago. No offense to Ryobi, I have a few other Ryobi tools and they are great! But there is no comparison. I used the DW745 today for the first time. Wow! I ripped a 2 x 4, half inch on each side. The thing I noticed right off the bat was how smoothly the motor started upon power up. It is also quieter too. Love what everyone else raves about, the rack and pinion fence. Absolutely beautiful! It was right on out of the box! So easy to dial in. And the dust control is great. I attached a Bosch collection bag to the dust chute and to my surprise there was hardly any dust on my garage floor. Yeah, at $279 this was a bargain! I am now a huge Dewalt fan. If you are thinking about this saw, don’t wait. As this is be phased out.

Its a good little saw but the fence doesnt want to stay where you set it, or at least when it's set at 3 1/2 inches. The exhaust port is really handy and keeps sawdust at a minimum. Changing blades is simple and the stand that came with the saw was easy to set up and it stays put. I've already run close to 500 boards through this saw and other than the fence issue I really like it

Actual dimensions with all the bits that spill over included. Love the fence on this thing. It makes me realize how crappy the rest of my measurements are. :-) It came absolutely square out of the box. My only real complaints are that it's noisy and (as others have noted) it won't take a dadoe stack. Including a photo that shows the dimensions (more or less), since the numbers I see online are all over the place.

This saw was perfectly calibrated from the factory. I was assuming that I would have to make adjustments for measurements and squareness, etc., but I couldn't improve upon the factory settings. The cord is only 6' long, so I bought a 25' 14 gauge extension cord to use with this saw. Attached is my first completed project.

Great saw for the money. Needed a compact table saw that can tuck under the workbench when not in use (tiny garage). The saw was light enough to maneuver around (love the grab handles on the side), yet sturdy enough to not feel flimsy. The sturdy stand is also great! Folds up flat!

Love this saw. Only had it about a week, and it works great. Checked it for level and squareness before I used it, and did not have to adjust anything. The first couple of boards that I ripped, I did not think that the blade was high enough, because I could not feel any resistance of the wood to blade. It cuts like butter. The blade height was fine. The adjustment scale was perfect. The saw mounts to the stand with four bolts and nuts, which makes it un-convenient to assemble at the job site, unless you want to carry wrenches along. I bought some wing nuts, painted them black, to replace the nuts, which makes it much easier and faster to assemble. The only thing which I did not like, was the exhaust port. I went everywhere trying to find an adapter to hook up my shop vac, and was not successful. It would be nice if the saw came with an adapter for this, so whoever buys this saw, does not have to waste the time that I did searching for one. I had to be very creative making my own out of pvc.

I bought this table saw because I needed a tool that could deliver straight consistent cuts. So far I am pleased. I was able to take a half sheet of plywood and rip it down perfectly. That is saying a ton for a tool with a 20” guard. I would recommend this saw!

I really like this saw, but there are limits. I really wish this saw could handle a dado. It has a shorter bed than I need and can’t support many jigs. With an expanding wood shop I need more, but it has served me well until I hit these limits.

I bought this light weight but very powerful saw last week because my older belt drive saw wasn't getting it done. I ripped some older 2"x8"16' long to build deck railing, and it never bogged down and the saw cut the pickets very clean and professional looking. excited about my DeWALT table saw.

The saw itself is fantastic! Works so well and the precision and clean cuts it's produced are what I was needing and looking for. The advertisement though is misleading... I only got the saw, no stand. I've not made big deal out of it, but it was disappointing when I did not get it exactly the way it is advertised.

This is my 3rd compact saw and my best one yet. It required minimal adjustments right out of the box. The blade and riving knife were spot on as was the bevel. The only adjustments I had to make were squaring up the rip fence and the rip fence indicator. Once that was done it was good to go.I especially like the locator screws for the rip fence, no more need to square up the rip fence after each use and the fine adjustment knob is accurate up to 1/16" of an inch.I appreciate metal gearing for the blade height adjustment vs plastic on my older saw. My only concern was the 3,850 rpms vs 5,000 for my other saw. So far I've ripped a number of 2x4s with no issued, just use a sharp blade and it should be good to go. I decided to get the stand, it's durable but a little to short for me.

Considering the price paid, this is a pretty good deal. I don't expect a bench top table saw to have the stability of a big floor mounted cabinet saw; but for $300 - including a folding stand, this is pretty decent deal; and I dont have room in my current shop for a large saw such as I would like. I've been woodworking for years, and had an older Craftsman Radial saw (circa 1973) that finally bit the dust earlier this year, and I replaced it with a 12" compound miter saw and this table saw. I've had the saw a couple of days and have made at least 15 to 20 cuts on it, mostly rip cuts but a couple crosscut as well. The fence is adequate, and I like the fold over support for when you are ripping wider boards that it provides support for the wide board out by the rip fence. The supplied miter fence is poor quality; IME. I've read online that others bought a better one online at minimal cost. I happen to have a miter fence from an older Craftsman bandsaw that works fine on this table saw so I ditched the stock miter fence. Other nit picking items: the blade guard system & anti-kickback pawls can be finicky to attach and remove. I know allot of folks will discard these but I'm a fairly safety conscious person and intend to use the guards. Perhaps with continued use these will become easier to work with. Other critical items: the throat width is non-adjustable, and I did have the anti-kickback pawl drop down into the throat once while starting a rip cut and I had to abort the cut. I would like to have seen the drop in blade throat insert have some adjustment to the throat gap. The saw has decent on board storage for the blade wrenches, push stick, kickback pawls, and the blade guards, although getting the blade guard set onto the storage bracket is even more finicky than setting it onto the saw itself. The saw comes with one narrow profile plastic push stick that is convenient when you need to make a narrow rip and the fence is close to the blade; and the saw has a bracket that holds that push stick on the back side of the rip fence so it can always be close at hand. Don't expect this to be a saw for fine mitering or precision woodcraft, but for basic construction needs this serves the job well. I feel it will have adequate power for most tasks if you keep a sharp blade on it.

                  The best Table Saw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this table saw for 2 years and the only word I have to say about it is perfection! The only table saw on the market with a precise and reliable metering system. There is no vibration in the machine, which gives a more accurate cut and an amazing finish! There is no doubt, Dewalt's table saw has no competition!

                    Perfect For My Needs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is exactly what I wanted when buying my first table saw. It feels incredibly well made and lightweight. It was instrumental in my most recent DIY shiplap wall in the master bedroom. Precision cuts are a must when attempting a project like this and this saw delivered without question. I will absolutely be buying more Dewalt product in the future.

I am a weekend warrior as far as woodworking goes and this tool is perfect for my needs. Built incredibly well and accurate out of the box. I have cut 3/4" mdf all the way down to 5mm paneling and this saw has performed flawlessly. I rcently ripped 4x8 sheets of plywood for a shiplap wall I did in the master bedroom and it handled everything I threw at it. I would absolutely recommend this tool to anyone.

I had to buy a zero tolerance insert for the saw to use it for my needs. Other than that, it is a great little saw, very powerful and accurate. Every feature on the saw is well made and easy to use. I like the way it exhausts the saw dust away from the user and also that turning the blade raising wheel clockwise raises the blade. I mention this because my Hitachi saw raises the blade in a counter clockwise direction and this does not feel natural. The Hitachi also blows saw dust in my face. I like my little DeWalt.

I just got my DW745 saw and mounted it on the DW7440RS work stand. I love how these pair together for ease of use, storage and looks. The saw assembled easily and I made 1 change to the saw frame itself when I mounted it to stand. Where the rubber feet are factory located on the saw frame, The DW7440RS stand uses those feet holes to mount the rail hold downs to. Just inside where the feet are mounted is a hole drilled at an angle, I ran a 5/16 drill bit thru those holes to where I can move the rubber feet inboard to keep them on the saw for storage. I don't think I will ever be using the saw off the stand, But If I do, the removable rails has rubber feet on them to use on a flat surface. One other thing I think Dewalt overlooked on this saw was for the Miter Gauge. It seems Dewalt made a storage hold for each part but the Miter Gauge. I would have like to see that done so that I don't misplace, drop or loose that part. It would make for a nice addition to have a storage hold for each removable part. I did end up just sliding it down the gap on the front rail and the fence when storing the saw in a vertical position. My personal use for this saw is not going to be heavy use, but more a few cuts a year on a couple small home jobs.
