This is a really great product and cuts tile installation time in half. This is the third time I've used it and again with great results! It is easy to apply, easy to remove the backing paper, and easy to apply the tiles. Make sure the wall is clean and dry, and once the Simple Mat is applied to the wall, use the grout float to press it into place before removing the backing paper. Once the tiles are applied, use the float to press the tile into the Simple Mat, then grout.

Very very very sticky but I was able to apply my peel and stick backsplash without any fear that they will ever fall off. I’d definitely recommend.

I was so excited to use this product. I have never tiled before and was nervous about it. I was 95% done with the project and had to stop for a couple days b/c of my schedule with work. During dinner 2 days after putting up all my tile, I heard breaking ceramic tile.... falling off the wall. I went up stairs to find tiles hanging off the wall and a whole section on the floor broken. Fed up with this material, I decided to do it the old fashioned way. Yes, it is ridiculous to get off the wall and it tears up your walls. I have included the pictures... I followed the manufacturers directions. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It is not user friendly and is easy to install but it doesn't stay. :( Needless to say, I took my box of left over material and empty box and pictures back to Home Depot. They gave me my money back.

My husband and I have used this product on 3 different backsplash projects and it has worked awesome every time! As long as you grout within a short window after hanging the tile we have never had an issue!

So I have to be honest, I was very weary about using this. I mostly do bathrooms and kitchens, but every once in awhile I’ll take on a backsplash job if I’m slow. I thought this would be perfect for a backsplash (absolutely nothing else) as it goes from 3 days to 2. Notes: grout immediately as that’s what gives you strength. No go for larger tiles or penny tile. Average subway should work great. Not forgiving with mosaics.

We install Canadian Soapstone products - this day, we needed to install a backsplash behind the stove. The kitchen was very close to completion, and we needed something that kept everything clean and tidy. The soapstone backsplash was installed and finished in 2 hours ( when we install this type of stone, we don't need grout ), so impressed with the strength of adhesion and how clean and quick it was. Super product!

First time I used these but I gave it a shot to install a back splash in my bathroom. For the little area I needed to install tiles, the 10sqf kit was very cost effective and mess free. The sheets are easy to cut with scissors and I installed them on a clean painted surface. If the tiles are pressed on lightly at first you can still remove them as corrections are needed. If pressed on firmly it is very hard to remove them without ripping anything. Overall great product!!

I was skeptical using a sticker for laying tile but gave it a try in my laundry room and it was a dream! I was able to cover a 9’x3’ area and grout in about 5 hours using 3x12 subway. The large roll does not com with paper on both sides so it’s a little tricky for cuts, I laid down a sheet of parchment and cut with a new blade. Otherwise very straight forward installation.

If you are using any larger tiles (8" on the longest side) your walls need to be perfectly flat or this won't stick. I checked my walls first, but there were bulges around the outlets so my tile didn't touch this backing and I ended up having to use thinset there anyway, had to wait to grout, and defeated the purpose of using this product, which was 5x more expensive than thinset. You're going to end up using grout, which is going to make a mess anyway, so I'd recommend sticking with thinset.

Spent almost $80 to ruin $200 of tile. Looks to be an awesome concept, however it DOESN’T work. This product seemed like an easier and cleaner way to install a tile backsplash. However, tiles started falling off the wall by morning, and never stopped sliding down and pulling away from the wall. I wish I could return this junk. Now I have to remove the tile, then remove this garbage product, go and buy adhesive mix and redo all that I have done. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

So I installed this product after seeing the 5 star reviews and I spend a lot of money on this product. The next morning I was going to grout and it was coming off the wall and sagging tiles everywhere. I would never recommend this product to anyone ever. After speaking to their representative, he stated I should just peal off the tile and replace the glue spot. And reapply the tile after. $80 is not worth the worry of having to remove and replace anything!!

Installed this correctly, followed all directions, removed all dust and tile has fallen off of the walls 3 weeks after installation.

Sped up install - holds tiles pretty well. A little weak on bottom tiles but overall happy and final product looks great

I spent 2 days putting this adhesive on my wall and then putting all the tile on for it to all fall off within 24 hours. I then had to rip all the adhesive off my wall which tore the paint off and use the traditional mortar method. Luckily none of my glass tile broke. Do not waste your time on this bad product.

This was my first time doing a backsplash and this product made the mortar process incredibly simple and mess free. As most projects preparation was definitely the key. But once you get your counters and tiles prepped, the tile mat process is just cutting the sheets to the proper size. I did notice the tile mat does not stick to spakle though it does stick well to joint compound. Also don’t play with the tiles once the grout is on because the moisture does seem to effect the sticky.

After first applying it looked beautiful! Went back to grout and as soon as I removed the spacers the tiles started sliding down the wall… I don’t have time for quick fixes that don’t work. I should have known better. Will never purchase again. What a waste of $60 and time.

Um, yeah, WOW!! If you have a custom tile where you want to spend the time and really choose tiles that give you that perfect look there is no way you can use traditional mortar. It would dry too fast. These are absolutely amazing to use and give you time to layout your wall just how you want it.

Pictures tell it all!!! Wall tile that i spent 400 on began peeling and falling off the wall two weeks after installation. Some tiles, as they fell, broke. I called the manfacturing company and they were no help.

Bought this for a tile backsplash in my kitchen. The idea behind this product is great and would be great if it actully worked. But it doesn't. Seems like any area around heat (cooktop) just fell off in a couple of weeks. Areas away from the cooktop are coming loose after a couple of months. Going to have redo the whole thing now the standard way. Thought it would save time but now I have another weekend taken up to fix something that never should have happened.

Wired as described. Will definitely be using this product again. PERFECT for backsplash!

This stuff recommend. I was so excited. But it fall off les then 12 hours. I have to clean the wall breaking my drywall.

Simplemat made laying / placing the tile on a backsplash very simple and fast. Make sure to grout within 24 hours to avoid any tiles coming off. Only downside was it does not cut well with scissors.

I am an experienced home renovator and someone told me this was a viable option compared to tile adhesive. The company’s YouTube videos are impressive so I thought I’d give it a whirl. I have central air but wanted to grout with the windows open because of fumes and it was hot as Hades outside so I had to wait for 2 days. Within 2 days, the tiles began to fall on the countertop and I will need to start all over with proper tile adhesive. The worst part of this is when you try and remove the adhesive paper from the wall, it pulls pieces of drywall paper off with it. If only the tiles held that well. This is an utter nightmare. I will NEVER try this stuff again. Beware!!

I used this on green board and hardi board and tile fell off both surfaces. Complete waste of time, i was hesitant to use this product so I waited to grout and glad that I did wait. within 48 hrs tile started falling off the wall. The product sticks to the wall fairly good but doesn't hold the tile.

This was a great, easy to use product. It was simple to cut and apply and once the sticky top was removed, there was plenty of time to work with the tile. Make sure to put a lot of pressure on the tiles once placed to make sure they stick firmly and apply a small bit of extra simple mat if a tile doesn't have adequate coverage. I removed one star because the instructions did not clarify proper procedure if you are using a wet tile saw: IF USING A WET TILE SAW, LET CERAMIC TILES DRY FOR AT LEAST SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE APPLYING! If tiles are applied that are even slightly damp, they will fall off several hours later. We found that we could re-stick the tiles once dry and they worked well!
