The plywood was made with no flaws and all cuts were exact and square.

First, I ordered this online, so I didn't pick it out myself. Otherwise, I would not have selected this particular piece for the job I needed it for. First, the good: it was not bowed, no open cavities, looked pretty good. Now, the bad: In looking at it, it's like seeing two different species of wood side-by-side. One half was darker and the other half lighter. I did prepare the wood for stain. When I began staining the wood I could see that one side was definitely darker than the other. I had to mix stains to get the lighter side as dark as the other side. Finally got them both fairly close. After they had dried overnight I began applying a wipe-on polyurethane finish. The stain on a large section of the lighter colored wood came off. Never seen anything like that before and I have done a lot of staining over the years. Just a waste of money and time on my part. Trying to make it work, but it will be noticeable. Doesn't reflect well on me for "quality workmanship". I may have to re-do the entire piece. Upon reflecting on what happened it may well be that something got on the wood somewhere along the line, preventing the stain from "taking", even though I used wood conditioner prior to staining.

Both sides had OK looking veneers. Not furniture level, but displayable, without unsightly knots. The surface veneer was thick enough to work with. Overall a step down from cabinet grade, but much better than the rest in HD. Biggest plus, formaldehyde-free.

Very pleased with the quality. Also impressed with the effort put into packaging this product to protect it from damage during shipping. Deserves my highest ratings.
