Here are some tricks you want to follow if stacking. The design is poor if stacking and you’ll have a tiny 3” opening between bottom/top unit. I drilled holes in the side panels to allow 7” of space for top unit shelf and still 30” above for pants. The first image is for bottom unit and gives 12” between all shelves (use 1 shelf for top unit in bottom unit). The second image is how I did the side panels 7” from bottom of panel. Then use tape on drill bit to 1 5/8” into bottom unit to add dowel.

First things first: This corner unit is huge. It's gigantic. If you measure out from the corner of the wall along the side of the wall that it will be resting against, it's nearly 30 inches wide in both directions. To understand how much room this takes up, even the Impressions Deluxe Hutch, the largest hutch they make, is only 25 inches wide while this beast is eating up nearly 60 inches of wall space. I had three corners to occupy in my walk in closet and after using six of these, I only had space left for the smallest hutches they offer to fill out the anchor points for the hangar rods. I wanted to put a couple of deluxe hutches in the closet along with these, but they eat up so much of the floor space that it was impossible. Honestly, they're too big. They could do with decreasing the front opening and sliding the outside panels a good four inches inward on both sides which would make these far more suitable for more spaces. Secondly, they are very unstable and flex a lot. No matter how long I spent adjusting the feet and trying to make the towers in two corners of the room not wobble when I touched them, they never really got stable. This, of course, is a factor of how large they are. If they were more compact, they wouldn't flex and wobble nearly as much. At least until I mounted the shelves. This really helped stabilize them, so I don't recommend using these as standalone pieces unless you mount the shelves too. The more shelves the better for stabilizing them.

Really awesome space. We stacked them and added a curved rod hanger to the top. We will use the extra shelf from top to add more space to bottom. (We haven’t added it yet). Loads of surface to store items.

Despite knowing the dimensions, this unit is bigger than I imagined. The triangular space is awkward for some items, but works well to hold winter comforters, extra pillows, and other soft items. Small objects might fall out the back, since there's an unavoidable gap between the shelves and the wall. No wood-grain, cardboard backing is provided, but you might be able to devise your own if you're creative. Because of the size of the panels, it's not very easy for one person to assemble. A second person is definitely needed if you want to stack one corner unit on top of another. If you think you can use the curved corner rod (Model# 30710) between two tall units (Model# 30850 or Model# 30860), it might be easier than building and installing this unit. I can recommend this unit if you have the space and it meets your storage needs.

Easy to build... just make sure you construct on a solid surface vs a plus carpet . I wish they made a slightly more narrow version to provide more space for the hanging rod. My wife loves her new walk-in closet.

We recently installed the ClosetMaid Impressions series closet system in our new home. We had the builder credit us for all shelving in the house and used that money to buy this less expensive, still good quality closet system. We installed the following: - (2) Basic Plus Closet Systems - (2) Corner Units installed stacked (item this review is on) - (4) Shoe Organizers installed stacked - (2) Drawers This system was not difficult to put together but it was time consuming. You'll need the ability to follow instructions, drill holes, and maybe even modify things a bit. Again, none of this is difficult but it did take some time. Plan it out, get an assembly line going, take your time. Not too difficult. I've read some negative reviews that say their items were damaged during shipping. Easy to solve, just have it shipped to the store. My entire system came stacked on a single pallet, all shrink wrapped together in pristine condition. I had zero damage. The difference is that these will ship to the store on a Home Depot truck with the rest of their stock. This stock is handled very well compared to the handling of UPS/FedEx/USPS where it will move from truck to plane to truck, be handled by several people, dropped and banged. Again, ship it to the store and save yourself some hassle. I highly recommend this system for a professional, impressive closet!!

I was tossing up between corner unit and individual shelves. Getting two of the corner units was cheaper and easier than 6 shelves. The shelves aren't really adjustable but that's worked out. We use the larger shelves for clothes hampers (we will be getting nicer wicker ones in near future). I like it. Hope you do too. Here's a pic.

I purchased 2 of these from homedepot.com. The unit was larger than I imagined once assembled so I decided to use just one. I was glad that I purchased 2 because one of the tops was scratched so I used the good one and sent the other top back with my returned unit. This item is only available online, but it is very convenient to be able to return an internet purchase in a local Home Depot. It looks great in the corner of the walk in closet combined with other cherry wood ClosetMaid products and provides us with nice storage in an otherwise wasted space corner. (the photo was taken half way through the closet project).

Corner Unit not available in store. Delivered slightly damaged. Still able to install and works fine.
The corner unit was the last piece of the puzzle for my walk in closet. I didn't know I had to order this until I went to my local Home Depot to try and purchase it. When it did arrive, the boxes were damaged and the product was dinged up a bit. I still assembled and installed (since the damage was not very noticeable from the front). I highly recommend purchasing everything you can from your local store to inspect the boxes. This unit is very heavy once assembled. You will need two people (or one super strong person) to stack the units on top each other (like I did in my pictures). Make sure you do follow all instructions with regards to mounting to the wall. Also remember to install the corner units first. Overall the walk in closet turned out great and save me a ton of money by installing it myself. Please see pictures!!! P.S. I did call the Closet Maid 800 number to have them help me layout my space. They emailed 2D drawings and a list of items to order/purchase at my local HD. Plus they called me to go over all the details to ensure it was what I wanted. They provided me two different options for the floor layout. Everything on that end was extremely helpful and I highly recommend you utilize that free service. P.S.S. Light-fixture also purchased at homedepot.com (on line only). Madison 3-Light Bronze Chandelier. Internet #202800319. $99.

You get what you pay for
For my use, these were adequate and had a lot of storage space (the biggest plus). They look really nice. Few other companies provide a good corner unit. the material is cheap particle board. there are ZERO options to order more shelves to fit into this unit. so I bought an extra. The corner unit is nice regarding dimensions and it fits very nicely with the rods and shelves for a finished closet look with lots of storage. DON'T expect it to arrive without some kind of damage. they're heavy (relatively speaking) and every piece I ordered had dings or nicks from shipping. returning any of it would have been more of a hassle and the dings an nicks are tough to see unless you are nit picky. they are going in the closet after all.

              Be very cautious
I bought these corner pieces to complete my do it yourself closet. I designed the whole closet with the online tool. All the parts were available in the stores except for these corners which are only available online. I bought 4 and spent over $450. VERY DISAPPOINTED. They did not seem like the same quality that was in the store and every one of the 4 were damaged. It is a good thing I did not need the middle shelving to each of the units so I could pick the best pieces from each one to make do. I had an installer coming to install the shelves and that was the only day he had available. So we made do with what we had. I was so happy with the rest of the products by truly unhappy with the most expensive part. If you do order these pieces, make sure to open the boxes and inspect every piece before accepting the delivery. The boxes are VERY VERY heavy so they could have been dropped by 20 people before they reached your home

IMPRESSIONS 41.1 IN. DARK CHERRY CORNER UNIT
I bought most of the pieces to complete my new walk-in closet at local Home Depot stores, however to complete our plan required 4 corner units (2 corners, two stacked each corner) which had to be special ordered online. The quality of the corner units were not as good as the rest of the stuff bought at the local stores. There were damaged boards and one cam-lock that would not turn (ergo would not lock a shelf in place). fortunately the damage was hidden in back locations where it is not visible but the defective cam lock could not be removed once hammered into place and I had to secure the shelf with wood screws. Normally I would have returned 3 of the 4 corner units I ordered but I didn't want to wait another 4 weeks for replacements. I don't see how anyone can build a first class walking closet with out these corner units, so I really don't understand why they have to be special ordered (why are they not part of the standard offering?), nor do I understand why it takes so long to receive them. Oh BTW, building these cabinets and assembling a professional looking closet while not rocket science, is not for beginners. Our closet room has one wall that has a roof-line angle which the Closet Maid design team said would not be possible to build for. While I had to modify the units for that wall, it was possible to accomplish (with weekend warrior wood working skills) to provide for a custom professional looking closet. We love it.

                  nice product, average quality
I had purchased several impression products, including towers, shelves and shoe racks. I was a little bit skeptical about this product because of the bad reviews about the quality. But I needed it for my corner, so I got it. I was really lucky the UPS man bought in the home because it was really heavy. I had to unpack it downstairs and carry it piece by piece to my upstairs closet. Unfortunately, the review are correct. At least one board in each package was chipped. The good thing is once you put it together (which is easy) you will not really see it. So, its up to you whether you mind. Also, you need to put it together in the closet because it is quite large. So, if you have a small closet, it might be too big for you. Also, it would be nicer if the company added more shelves. Because the space between them is too big. But it may work for other people. Overall I am satisfied, it looks beautiful in my closet and I would get it next time.

The Yin and Yang of it
We purchased 3 Corner Units on-line. Three packages arrived via UPS and all three packages contained damaged pieces. We returned them to Home Depot and placed another order. Again, all three packages contained damaged pieces but we were able to salvage enough pieces to put together two complete and undamaged corner unit. When the third order for the last corner untit arrived, minor damage was present but would not be much of an issue as the damage was located where it would not be noticed. Still, one expects that when you pay a considerable sum for a new product that it will arrive in perfect shape....even if it is made of MDF. There were also some issues with the engineering and the assembly instructions. The holes for the cams housed in plastic were much too tight. The instructions say to use a rubber mallet to pound the cams into the holes. Doing so caused the MDF to chip and crack and I had to use some wood glue to rescue the piece. Henceforth I used a c-clamp to force the cams into the holes which worked just fine. One shelf was also cut about 1/16" deeper than the side panels, which left a gap between the rear of the tower and the wall. A chop saw remedied this issue. We also purchased five tower units in-store, some boxes of which also contained damage. It would be easy to blame UPS's handling during shipping, but much of the blame should lie with poor packaging on Closetmaid's part. I must say though that Home Depot was very accommodating in getting all issues rectified. All in all, it took about three weeks to enjoy the benefits of a functional walk-in closet, what with all the re-ordering that had to be done. I must say, though that when assembled it looked absolutely fantastic. We knew going in that a product made with MDF would have a drop off in quality compared to real timber, but we don't live in our closet and few people will ever see it. And, when all is said and done, it looks great... like real cherry wood. It remains to be seen if it will stand the test of time.

least favorite of the impressions line
Overall, I highly recommend the impressions line. However, this corner unit is MASSIVE. Even though I measured my closet before ordering, I still was not expecting quite how large it was going to be. We stacked two on top of each other, and it seems pretty sturdy once you have it attached to the wall. My main problem is that I don't know how i'll keep anything organized within the huge shelves. If I could do it all over again I'd rearrange my design to take rods all the way to the corner, but it's already built and installed so that's not an option. It would be nice if closetmaid could design something a little better to handle corners that makes the space more able to be organized.

                    Great Purchase
The corner unit was easy to install in my closet. Looks great and fits well with the rest of the Impressions units that I bought in store. We did a complete remodel of the closet and these were the final pieces that are not carried in the store.. Really gives a very high end look to our closet, my wife and I couldn't be more pleased and we're getting a lot of compliments from friends and family!

                    nice but, a little expensive
Good unit albeit a bit pricey. The corner requires two corner units for ~$180. The ten foot closet sells for ~$160 with clothes rods. I will replace the adjustable clothes bars on the closet unit with solid bars soon. I also had to reach out to a European competitor (Ixxea) for a mirrored door for corner unit. Along with replacing the flimsy plastic wall brackets with 2" metal brackets to compensate for the floor moundings that I did not want to remove. the alternative would have been to remove a 3"x1" section of the lower portion of the unit to mount flush with wall (the units could have been manufactured with the lower3"x1" section missing for a better fit for installation into established homes).

Probably the most substandard ,overpriced junk I have ever bought!
I knew going into this that these are MDF and as such wouldn't exactly be top quality and basically you get what you pay for. However there is zero quality control. I ordered five of these things and every single box had issues. All the parts were there but the wood was ridiculous!! Especially where you had to insert metal pieces, the wood was very badly chipped and the most you could hope for was three out of four cam lock seats to be complete (the wood had disintegrated before it had left the factory. The edging is a joke all buckled and really looked tacky. For $80+ a piece these guys should be ashamed of themselves peddling such garbage. I did not expect solid mahogany, but I expected MDF that was not cracked and broken and the corners and ill fitting plastic trim. This stuff makes Ikea look like top class furniture, and thats one heck of a low hurdle.

                      Nice upgrade
easy to assemble. nicer version of the basic pressboard furniture, but its still pressboard furniture. we bough 4 of these corner units and every one of them had a weak spot, in the same place, around one of the holes where it ended up chipping. We thought it was just from bumping it during shipping, but it ended up being each one of them. So we figure its just a flaw of the design. They look great and seem pretty durable other than that. I love the darker color. I'm happy with them overall.

I love the finished look of my closet. We purchased two tall unit with drawers to go with the corner unit. I will say the corner unit cut out for the cams was poorly placed. The shelves cracked on all of the four shelves in the same way. Luckily it did not show and the unit held together but the design should be corrected.

This product is excellent. We installed 4 of them in our walk-in closet so that we didn't have any "dead space". It gave us a lot more storage which was great. It also gives the closet a more refined look. The instructions are very easy to follow and the assembly was also easy. For each corner, you will need to buy 2 of them because you stack one on top of the other to get floor to ceiling coverage which looks better.

I took a week off work to renovate our master bath closets, and now I can’t even complete it because 1 of 4 corner units are missing shelves. Now I have to wait another WEEK for a replacement!

Very heavy sturdy units. Only complaint is there are no adjustable shelves on it, and when I tried to change the height of the center shelf after putting it together the cam lock broke through the particle board and melamine cover.
