I've had this grill for a while cooks great ,the firebox needs to be made with a heavy metal to last a little longer my box rusted out and I can no longer use it. Overall I love it's proformance

When I bought this smoker, I thought it would be fun. Now I know it can turn out a quality rack of baby-back ribs as well as a pork butt and/or whole brisket. I enjoy using it and find it very gratifying when the people compliment the meat that I cook.

My wife bought me this grill like 2 months ago and haven’t been able to stop using it. I love it so much, I spend more time with my grill than with my wife!! Hahaha thanks for such a great product. Made so well and so sturdy. I’m a customer for life.

Just started putting it together today received it yesterday! So far I’m really frustrated because of the large dents and scratches on the grill lid of my new smoker!

First time use on Labor day weekend and the attached pictures speak for themselves. Half a bag of kings ford 11.6lb charcoal and a couple of pieces of wood for the smoker and Wa La the paint pealed off and the temperature gauge ship the bed.

On the first use, I started a chimney of lump hardwood charcoal, the paint immediately burned off the bottom of the firebox. (See picture) Yes, I had the grate installed correctly. My guess is the gaps are too wide for this type of charcoal and it fell through. By the end of this use, the grate itself was warped. My plan is to reinforce the grate with better steel and close the gaps. I might even repaint the firebox. As others have noted, there are serious gaps in this unit that lets the smoke out all over the place. The back of the smoker is the biggest issue. My plan is to work on sealing as many of these gaps as I can. Lastly, the temperature gauge does not have degrees. You are left to guess what the temperature of smoke chamber is. This is not a good way to smoke! My plan is to modify the smoker to take a better quality gauge. Once I have all these modifications done, I hope this will be a good entry level smoker.

It has good weight if you put it together right you should be ok.

I bought this grill on Saturday for a company bar b que and it got hot enough to with only a small amount of charcoal and two pieces of wood, that it peeled the paint off the smoke box. I don't understand how some people complain about maintaining heat if you adjust the air flow just right I can keep it in the "ideal" range easily enough.

Need to know why my first time using this grill/smoker and the paint is already coming off and not had it a week

After 2 years, at least 2 times a week BBQ or smoking my Char-Broil smoker is in perfect condition. A must buy equipment if you are a BBQ lover.

This grill is for our remote control airplane club. The chief really loves the large cooking area. It is almost twice the size of our old one. We fed over 100 people at our last event.

Charbroil company made me register the product first which was a bit of a magical with scanning proof of purchase and then wouldn't replace the missing bolts and hex nuts without a $4.95 shipping charge. Two bolts and nuts don't cost $5 ?!?!

I searched and searched all last year for a grill that I could enjoy. Some how I ran across this grill on homedepot.com and loved the specifications on it. Similar grills with the same specs run about 178+tax but i got this grill for 127.00. Its huge and just what I wanted. Putting it together was so freaking easy its almost scary. I would suggest doing a few modifications to it if youre a big time smoker/griller like myself. I ordered some high temp silicone to close up my gaps and its awesome. When I originally called the online store they were out of stock and weren't sure if they would receive anymore, but they did everything they could to help me get this grill. They even called charbroil to see if they were going to send more and when if they were. The customer service was outstanding. This grill is by far the best for the price. The material is better than the brinkman grill. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!

Simple to understand instructions, easy to assemble, good looking upon assembly. Cured for 4 hours the next day. The day after that, smoked a beef brisket. (5 hours at 270 or so), wrapped and cooked on the smoker for another 3 hours. Came out excellent. Bit of advice to minimize cleanup time, line bottom of cooking chamber with aluminum foil. Only negative that I see is that there is quite a bit of leakage of the smoke. I will spend a little time sealing up cracks and putting in an oven sealing strip around the door before the next cook.

Great product for a big family like mines, we all enjoy it very much.

I will never go back to Gas Grilling. This is one of the best BBQers I have owned. Thank You Home Depot.

I gave this unit an overall rating of five stars, because with minimal modifications it is a very useful smoker. Out of the box it is a great grill, but the quality of the smoker design is poor at best. The unit is difficult to maintain temperature, and it leaks smoke from everywhere. Additionally, the cheap steel bends with heat. With that said, if you seal the unit with high temperature silicone (food safe RTV) and some sort of high temperature rope, you can resolve the smoke leaks. To resolve the uneven temperatures across the unit I cut a disposable deep pan in half to use as a heat deflector, and then I used disposable cookie sheets to direct the smoke throughout the unit. The last modification I made was to lower the chimney using a three inch dryer vent. The end result is a unit that is a great grill, and the best value smoker you can get for the money. If you are looking for a smoker instead of a grill, you should get an upright or an electric upright. Their temperature is easier to maintain, and they are easier to smoke on. However, if you want a grill and a smoker, this one is great with a few modifications.

Grill has met my expectations. Was easy to put together. I sprayed it with high heat paint and has helped with rusting. Only bad thing it doesn't seal totally as you want fir a smoker but for the price you can't beat it. Did come damaged from shipping but was not anything that effected the actual grilling.

except for the lid. was easy to put together. Must have a production issue with the lid of the cooker, had to pound into place to get to fit correctly. I noticed at all stores, the demos looked liked they had the same problem, early. Now the demos in stores now look like they fit properly. Cooks awesome, and that is the reason for it isn't it.

This one is better and bigger than the last one. More space to cook. Helps out with big parties. Highly suggest this one.

I bought this grill to replace the one I use to have that was just about like it. This is a great product and I highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like about this grill is its thermometer. It only has words. No numbered degrees scale. I added my own thermometer that I bought at Home Depot.

The size of this grill is just perfect for me. I can BBQ a little or a lot and it cooks better and faster than the in doors oven. It was so convenient to have free shipping to get this grill home when you only have a car. Simple and quick transaction.

when this product got to my house i was super excited, i have been in the market for a grill of this type for a while and while i am fully aware that this grill is on the lower end of the quality price spectrum i did not expect the problems that i got with it. first off, it arrived damaged, i did not make a big deal out of this because the damage was aesthetic and did not reduce functionality, so i ignored it and continued. second, the heat in the smoker burned the paint off the outside of the smoker fire chamber the second time it was used. third, during the same use the heat also popped the weld on the lid to the smoker chamber. i am very disappointed in this grill and am contacting char-broil about it. the welds were pathetic and could have been done better by my 7 year old son and the fire i had in the chamber was well within what should have been acceptable limits. i must sadly not recommend this grill

6 years of usage, had to replace fire box bottom and bottom drawer combo.I added a piece of all thread across the center of the large compartment to stop warpage.The frame could be heavier! This tool gets used multiple times a week for cooking and smokes salmon and other fish often. It has held up well and the parts that have worn out have been in stock for replacement. The wear and tear are all heat and sea air related and to be expected.

I'm going on three years with my smoker and I have done a lot of cooking – from burgers and dogs to much more complex smoking of briskets and Thanksgiving turkeys. It's a great buy for someone who wants versatility but doesn't want to break the bank. My only regrets are the integrity of the metal and the durability of the paint. I live in South Texas where it doesn't rain a whole lot. The sun is quite intense in the summer. However, we can get some measurable rain. I'm having to replace the firebox (bottom rotted out) and also having to soon paint the exterior of the entire smoker for the second time. So for anyone who purchases this product, make sure to buy a cover or keep it out of the elements. Other than that, I hope to have this smoker for many more years. I LOVE IT!

I have had the deluxe offset smoker for 7 years now, and I couldn't be any happier with the quality of smoked meat I have smoked over the years. The cooking surface is spacious enough for a varity of meats. For the fist few years I was able to keep the smoker in the garage away from the outside elements to that point the smoker remaind flawless. After about 2 years of storing it outside the fire box has began to rust away to the point of almost falling off. I would encourage that you purchase some type of grill cover if you are going to store it outside. I have read many of the reveiws and I agree with most of them. You will loose a lot of smoke around the edges of the fire box, main cooking chamber, and smoke stack. Also the metal grate in side the fire box that holds the charcoal and wood is not very durable and will warp over time. Another flaw that the smoker has is the theromostat that comes with it. It does not guage actual temperture readings. It only indicates warm and hot. I am looking foward to purchasing this grill again. This time I will make some modifications to the pit to reduce some of the smoke and heat leakage. I will also install two additional thermostates on each side of the main chamber as the temp. varies across the smoker. All in all this is a great smoker for the price.

I'm by no means a pro at smoking, but this guy has helped me make some awesome ribs, brisket and pulled pork.

I have had this smoker on 3 separate occasions. All of them were great....easy to control hear when smoking and enough space to smoke ribs upright or multiple roasts. The biggest issues have had, is a leg rusting out....a cheap and easy fix though.

I love it. This is my second smoker, just recently replaced my old one after 10 years and many dinners. Easy to use and the perfect size to feed lots of hungry people
