While this may be an acceptable replacement for most models, it did not work on my GE Profile. There is a slight difference in the design where it locks into the refrigerator. This difference, at least on my GE Profile, did not allow the water to switch on to the filter and subsequently the dispenser. I have added a photo that shows a side by side comparison of the GE brand and this brand. If you can see it well enough, you'll notice the locking tabs on this brand are not as deep and they are not solid like the GE. There also appears to be a slight design difference internally as well, as you can see in the picture. Not sure which difference created the issue, just wanted to let folks know what I experienced.

The taste is good, I like that it meets NSF criteria for lead reduction and cryptosporidium. However, it slows the water throughput massively compared to the brand (the GE MWF filter).

Took some time to rinse out the filter so the taste was back to normal. But if you read the specs this is the best bang for your buck for a full-featured water filter

This was VERY hard to install. it does not turn and click in with ease. I almost couldn't get the second one to go in at all. I have never had this problem with the GE version or other brand substitutes I have bought.

More difficult to install that the original. Fit is not perfect and took some pressure. Seems to work fine. Water seems filtered. But that is anecdotal. I like that its NS2 rated highest or same as original.

Is filter fits perfectly, unlike other aftermarket filters I have bought. Flow is fine and I cannot taste the difference. Performance for the money I think this is a great value, we will certainly purchase again.

I needed to find a filter that cleaned up sediment and improved taste, but also filtered out parasites, VOCs and contaminants. So far, these have been working well, and have NSF 42 & 53 Certifications. They are a bit cheaper than the standard GE MWF Filter as well. 4 stars for now!

Difficult to install. Had to force filter into place. Manugacture replacement part did not have this problem.

Much more affordable than OE filters. They didn't seem to fit quite as well, but sealed up and didn't leak. I have good flow back out of my dispenser and the water tastes good. No regrets.

Ice cubes look bigger, cleaner, and taste better with this new filter. Much more inexpensive than original manufacturer.

This item says it replaces a GE MWF. But it would not fit in the GE refrigerator I owned that used a MWF water filter. The top of the filter is slightly thicker than the GE MWF where it snaps into place and so, it would not twist into place. If it fits your GE frig, great deal. If it doesn't, it was a total waste of money.

It's great to get a water filter for almost half the price of the brand name filter! It was a little hard to put it in place because there are no arrows indicating placement and it turned with difficulty, but once I got it in, it's working well.

I've been purchasing the name brand water filters for my refrigerator for the past 5+ years in the store at $40 a piece. I never realized that I could purchase a generic 3-pack online for the same price as buying one in the store. Great find!

Since I started using these filters I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of sediment that is in my ice compared to when I was using the more expensive GE filters. If I were to fill up a glass with ice and let it completely melt, there would be a fair amount of sediment sitting on the bottom of the glass. I don't use my refrigerator system for drinking water so I don't know how the drinking water quality has been impacted by using these cheaper filters. However, I can definitely say the ice is not as "clean" as it use to be. I guess I should have expected this considering how much lower the price was for these filters.

Bought these as an economical replacement for the GE filter. Had a difficult time getting it to fit in filter slot. Finally had to remove o-ring gasket from filter to get it to fit into unit. I have had to watch it closely to be sure it does not leak since o-ring has been removed. Not sure I will buy again. glad I only bought two pack verses the three pack.

I bought this product thinking it was a great value, half the price as the GE filter I usually purchase, however, the aggravation it caused made me furious. I had a perfectly working GE refrigerator, I only wanted to change out the water filter as I had done several times in the past, but within minutes of replacing it with this filter, the water would no longer dispense. The package and info on line says they are completely compatible and it seemed to twist into place fine, but it seriously messed up my fridge. I looked on you tube to figure out what to do. I had to leave my freezer door open for an hour to defrost the frozen line, stick a pipe cleaner up the hose and try again. I was relieved to see water flowing again, but at a slower stream. By the next day it was frozen again. After several days of unfreezing the line I returned this product and bought the GE brand for twice the cost and replaced the filter again, defrosted the line and now it is working fine again with a strong stream of water. They should not sell a product that causes such problems and is not truly compatible to the original. I will never buy a lesser brand again and am just glad it didn't do permanent damage to my water dispenser.

I have always used OEM filters for my fridge, all the while thinking they are way to expensive. . Well, I guess you get what you paid for because I bought these cheaper ones, and it takes twice as long to get a glass of water.

Got this filter just in time as my fridge light came on telling me to replace it. This item fit my GE fridge perfectly and after running water thru it for a few gallons we were ready to go..

This mulch lasts a long time and keeps its color fairly well. All mulch fades so get a shade darker than you really want. No odor so it's pleasant right away.
