Bought six of these doors for an interior remodel. Four out of the six had staples that were punched through to the interior frame and poor wood quality (See photo). Since I was on a time constraint, I had to remove and replace the fastening staples on the four doors as well as having to wood putty all of the wood that was in such poor condition. I was surprised that these doors even made it out of the manufacturing facility in the condition that they were in (No quality control??). If you are in the market for these doors, try to inspect them in store before purchasing them. Some of the defects are very difficult to see until they are taken out of the wrappers. $229 is too expensive to have to deal with this level of quality.

The 32x80 prehung interior door was free of defects. I installed the door myself. I needed to cut a small amount off the bottom to clear the carpet. I stained the door prior to installing it. I chiseled a small section near the door knob to allow for the strike plate. A router would have made this step much easier. I love solid core doors. This one looks great and it matches my furniture!

The door was definitely what I needed. It is a good quality fir pre-hung door ready for installation. Nickel hinges included and pre-drilled to accommodate a lockset.

I ordered this door online and picked it up at the store. That will be the last time I have someone else pick a door out for me. In the rush I missed the minor imperfections & less than attractive grain patterns, and that's on me for being in a hurry. Bottom line, I've replaced most of the doors in my home with these 6 panel unfinished doors with good results. This one is the poorest quality of the lot.

The first one of these we bought had a wider jamb stop on one side than the other, so there was a huge gap where it met the thinner top stop on the upper corner. If it had been facing inside the closet, I might have just kept it, but since it was facing out and would look ridiculous, I returned it. The door had a stamp on the bottom that stated it had passed inspection, but somehow they missed the fact that 2 very different widths of wood were used for various parts of the jamb stop.

Heavy door. While technically “solid", it is laminated which was not made clear. Still worked for our purposes,

Construction was poor. There was a 2" burnt spot on the wood jamb. When I went to install, I found the striker jamb varied about a 1/4" from top to bottom. After replacing and straightening the jamb I found the small upper panel cocked at an angle.

4th & 5th door of this type we've bought. Really like these doors, from appearance to construction. They install relatively easily, look great & sounds great and block more sound than hollow core doors.

The wood door appears to be of beautiful high quality wood. Unfortunately, the manufacturer chose to use lower quality wood with defect in the door jamb. Disappointing, and will surely be a reflection on HomeDepot and manufacturer's inability to inspect the products they sell.

I purchased six of these doors and clear finished them. Some of the doors had small marks and dents from shipping but easily repaired. Great value and improvement from the old hollow core doors.

Great product. Easy to hang and very good quality control. I have replaced all the passage doors in the house with these. Very little sanding required before whatever finish you may prefer.

Much better choice for a solid door then the hollow ones, heavy, sturdy, and nicely put together.

I replaced every door in my house with Builders choice doors from home depot. They are a solid door, easy to install, and a real beauty. Excellent quality, and I really enjoy a nice, Real, door.

Matched the grain pattern of the existing door.

Fair door for the price. Wood was "clean" with minimal to no marring to fix, door wood matched frames and feels solid, and easy to install. One embossed panel was not inserted squarely into the door, which is impossible to fix and wasn't noticed until hung. Bummer, as it probably isn't worth uninstalling to return, but will forever bug me. 3 star rating based on quality control.

It was ready for staining and a clear coat. No sanding required.

The door was installed by Home Depot. The installation was clean and done quickly. The door is just what my wife wanted.
