PRO's - fairly easy install, especially if fitting into an existing cutout/ replacing old vent hood. powerful motor/ move a lot of air on HIGH setting, very good on LOW too. the exhaust damper with a hinged flap IS INCLUDED and it's temporarily stored inside the hood under the filter screens. Can use dimmable LED size PAR20 replacement bulbs instead of the energy hog Halogen bulbs. LED's are bright and there are choices in output color range such as Warm White, Bright White, Daytime. (for some reason the owners manual says ONLY Halogens must be used and so does The products Technical Support needs to educate themselves because the NuTone Customer Support Answer to a consumers question claims Halogens must be used, but that is 100% INCORRECT. There are replacement LED's available and it will not harm anything but be sure to use the DIMMABLE type LED's because otherwise there'll be an annoying flicker when used on Low setting) NOTE: this unit can be installed as VENTED through wall or ceiling to outside or installed as a Non-Vented unit. There is a vented slot above the hood for non vented so the air is moved from stove through filters then out the vent top which obviously does go back into the room but it is slightly filtered and moved away from stove top. BE SURE to READ directions about blocking off the vented on top front IF you are going to use this to VENT OUTSIDE. There is a baffle under the front of hood behind lights that can be positioned to either Open to vent through top front side for Non Vented installation OR turned around to block off/ CLOSE that vent for VENTED through a ceiling or wall installation so ALL the air is vented to outside. I learned the hard way because I did not read the directions first. CON's: the directions should be revised to correct the bulb type information to include LED PAR20 dimmable/ used with dimmer switches or Halogen PAR20 bulbs CAN BE USED I cannot think of any other complaints about this vented range hood. Recommendations: use a good quality 100% Silicone Caulking between the exhaust vent damper lip and the exterior wall for a good seal. I used a Master Flow brand spring door type damper and trimmed the length of the duct to fit exactly onto the hood's included damper flange and also made sure to BLOCK OFF the interior vent that is on top front of above the lights. As I indicated above, there is a Baffle inside the hood that can be positioned to Open or Close off the interior vent depending installation of Vented or Non Vented. Obviously if Vented and that interior isn't blocked Off then the range really won't Vent outside to it's full potential.

Range hood was as described and went perfectly with my almond stove and cabinets. The lights do not come with the hood, so they must be purchased separately.

My 30 year old almond color stove finally died. (Loved that stove and hood!) So I purchased a Samsung, 5 burner, stainless/black stove (which is my new love). We selected this stainless hood and we are very happy with it. It is a perfect pairing! The lighting on the hood is excellent, the low & high fan speeds are effective and quiet, the 2 exhaust vents encompass the entire hood (no gaps), it's affordable, and it just plain looks great. We are very pleased with this hood and would definitely recommend it.

I had ordered a much less expensive hood that the installer found damaged when he opened the box. I hurriedly bought one (at twice the price) from Home Depot so that it could be installed while he was still on site. The difference in quality was amazing and well worth the extra money..

We purchased this hood on sale, so it was considerably less expensive, but it is a very nice addition to our kitchen, very quiet and works well; even though ours is not vented to the outside and we had to substitute the carbon filters. I would suggest you investigate getting LED bulbs instead of the halogen floodlights the manufacturer recommends, our Home Depot salesman steered me in that direction and I am very glad that he did.

Great buy and very easy to install, energy efficient unit with out the noise. I would reccommend this unit to any body.

It was installed by my handy man and he did it within 30 minutes although I didn't know I had to purchase the electrical plug separately, it is still worth all the money I spent.

We have had the unit for several years and found it excellent except that the filters are held in place by weak plastic springs that are easily broken. This is, in my opinion, a serious design problem and makes the unit worthless when it breaks unless fixed. I was able to fix it by cutting a slot in the back of each filter and sliding a leaf spring designed for a window screen into the slot. I would recommend this unit only if you are prepared to repair this design error yourself.

Quality range great value...easy to install...works well as a ventless hood...nice double lighting feature.

My old NuTone range hood lasted a mere 50 years. What more can you say about a product?

This unit is so attractive. It made that part of the kitchen go from drab to handsome. The fan motor is surprisingly quiet.

The fan is twice the size of the old one, even though it is the same size of hood, and it is quieter. The two lights with low and high setting provide excellent light for cooking on high and the low is works nicely as a night light. We installed the hood through the wall in the previous hole and wired it in ourselves. It was very easy (just remember to turn off the electricity before doing the wiring). It is very attractive and well worth the money.

My nephew installed it for me, did not seem to be a problem. Fits right into the space allocated without any adjustments. The fan is much quieter than its predecessor and I really like the halogen lights, though I did not get the brightest ones recommended. That would probably be too bright. I am pleased with what I paid for.

This hood has a great modern look to it that really enhances the overall appearance of our kitchen, and absolutely love how easy it is to clean!The full lighting over the stove is a wonderful help when cooking and the powerful fan keeps all the steam and vapors where they belong. This product is all we had hoped, an excellent value!

With help from the online associate I am able to find a perfect fit range hood. The look and feel are better than the old one (more than 15 years old), more than I expected. The installation was a breeze even it required at least two people, with no modification required. The sucktion on the front is weaker than on the back burner that causes a little bit inconvenience for cooking using the back burner. Overall we are happy with the product, It would be better if the price is lower.

Good product. No problems with the fan or lights etc. However the metal mesh filters seem a bit flimsy. I was spraying them off with the kitchen faucet hose and when drying the smooth edges of the frame with a paper towel, it fell apart. Impossible to put back together. Other than that it is a good unit.

This range hood is stylish, however, the vent in top of it shoot the grease up to your cabinets making it sticky and gross. I am tired of cleaning the crease off my cabinets. I am quite disappointed.

This fan barely draws even light smoke off the range top. You get what you pay for.

Easy to install and fairly quiet

This hood was relatively easy to install. Had to take it apart to prepare it for my installation, but the directions were clear and that made it go much better. The fan is a little louder on the high setting than I had hoped but overall I am pretty satisfied with it and it really looks great.
