The can/container itself is OK, and does it's job of holding kerosene fine ... the pouring spout is nothing short of a major frustration ... piece of "junk", not to put too fine a word on it (initially I had a better word than junk for this spout posted, that most people could, and would have, been able to better relate to, but you considered it "inappropriate language" and wouldn't let me use it .. too bad ... word was hardly "inappropriate", and described this useless piece of work much better) ... I'm giving this can/container a POOR overall rating simply because of this beautifully designed spout What I wanted to buy was a can/container with a traditional remote vent and strait through pour spout, but this wonderful new style is all you can find nowadays If all you want to do is fill a can/container with kerosene, and look at it, with no intentions of taking the kerosene out of it, this is the can for you ... because functionally as is, with this pouring spout, the can/container is just slightly better than not having a can at all

It is exactly what you think it is . A nice 5 gallon capacity receptacle, marked for Kerosene, with the modern "three hands required" nozzle system . Luckily I have a nice pump that came with my heater so I only need two hands to dispense the Kerosene . A great value .

This can would be better if it had two handles, but I find that holding the back edge while pouring also works. I love the spout you twist the green part (some are yellow) then push down to expel the kerosene, also it fits nicely into my space heater without a funnel. I have had many gas/kerosene cans in the past and they have all had design or quality flaws, so this one I like the best.

I already returned this kerosene can back to home depot because it only has one handle which makes it too hard to manage lifting and pouring. I already went to Tractor Supply and purchased another Kerosene can that has 2 handles, much easier pouring and lifting. But one plus was that I had no problem returning the item to home depot.

Perfect size and color coded and also labeled for kerosene. Heavy plastic material should last a very very long time. It is what I wanted and needed. Great product and fair price. Thank you Home Depot..

I don't understand why these blow molded containers are so expensive. This container does as it should and is color coded for kerosene.

Works great, love it.

There is no way to use this product, without physically touching the fuel in which it contains. The poor flow is painstakingly slow. Insuring that you will be holding gallons of fuel in the air as you look on in disbelief .

These new gas cans can be impossible to use! The new safety features require you to get the nozzle in place and locked. Sometimes it holds and most times it doesn't. The old cans were much better and if you're a responsible person were safe to use!

Good shape of the container but if only the spout made a good seal to the container. Leaks from the spout there. It does fit nicely into filler hole and is easy to turn the green lockout collar and push the spout to dispense. One other gripe is the cap on the end of the spout does not fit securely and when the spout is stored inside the container, it's easy to knock it off into the container when withdrawing.

What can I really say about it. It holds kerosene well. So far so good. I would recommend it and may even buy another one.

It got delivered today and I'm taking it to my local store tomorrow and returning it. It's the equivalent of working a Rubic's cube with the final colored square missing. This is unfreakin' believable. I can put together just about anything with or without instructions, but not this plastic nightmare. Maybe some of them have been made that work, but not this one. It says to press down on the green tab and turn it to the right until it clicks. It won't turn at all, no matter how hard you try. I'm not weak but I feel like I've pulled a muscle in my hand trying to turn that thing. It's actually aching from my wrist to my shoulder. Since I'm at the point where I want to take it out to the driveway and roll back and forth over it with my truck I think it's time to throw in the towel. I hope I get my money back because this hunk of junk wasn't inexpensive, just cheap.

This is a great Kerosene can. But the pour spout is difficult to use. It appears the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated some sort of no spill spout. Sounds like a great idea, but in practice it's not very doable. Also, the child safety mechanism prevented the fill spout from opening, I had to carve a little of the plastic away so I could open it.

The kerosene can was the best buy we made. In all we have purchase at least three of these containers to store kerosene in. We use these containers at least every day and we purchase kerosene in them at least three times a week. I am so glad we purchase these from Home Depot and the price we a little cheaper than else places. Thanks again!

I would not recommend this at all. It leaks everywhere when pouring into the kerosene heater. Put newspaper down if you decide to purchase this product.

I like the design of the spout, however, it is leaking, Ovall it is ok.

What can you say about a kero can? Does the job, doesn't leak, works for me!

Ok kerosene can but has a hokey locking cap feature that seems unnecessarily complicated

If you deal with kerosene, you need a kerosene can for storage fill etc. this products serves all that excellently. the spring loaded sprout is better than the one that comes standard in similar gasoline container. the price is the cheapest (around $4 cheaper than the next price) from home depot.

Don't waste your time, find an old style can with a plastic snap vent and a flexible spout. More kerosene ends up on the floor and on your hands than in the tank. I promptly returned this due to the difficulty I had trying to use it.

First, there is a toothed collar on the cap that is difficult to remove. I had to cut the cam that the collar rubbed against in order to remove the collar. Not sure if this is a shipping device or part of the safety design Second, there is no grip indentation area on the bottom of the car that you can hold as you pour out the kerosene. Five gallons is heavy and difficult to balance. Last, I do put kerosene in it for my kerosene heater and the end of the spout will not fit into the heater tank fill hole like my old can did. as far as the safety valve. you need to read the icons on the spout to under stand it. It does work nicely.

The locking / unlocking twisting mechanism is horrible. I decided to test out this "feature" with a gallon of water and regardless of which way i twisted the mechanism, i wouldn't get water to come out. There are much better and straight forward products out there, unfortunately, Home Depot only had this one in stock that was larger than the tiny 1 gal one...

I use this as a storage tank to put into a bigger size fuel tank that has a better spout. Just too hard to fill using the nozzle.
