this is my 3rd device and all have failed . i bought this last device july 2020..it worked vgood for a few months. now it has gone the way of the previous two... wont come on.. started with flickering laser. now it simply wont turn on.

I can't find the instructions that describe how to lock it for travel. Could you please tell me how to do this?

I bought a new one about 5 years ago & it worked perfect every time for my remodeling business. IT was never dropped or otherwise mis-handled. But last week I took it out of its case & nothing happened. I changed the batteries & still nothing. I called the local Bosch repair shop & they said it "was out of warranty & probably can't be fixed". SO I emailed Bosch & within a day they responded that probably because I left the batteries in it that was micro corrosion & to throw it away. Maybe Bosch can add that little information nugget to their manual so no one screws up there expensive tools. Anyway, I liked it enough to buy a 2nd for the same reasons I bought the 1st one: it works great for various remodeling tasks, it fits in my tool bag while working (otherwise it's tucked away safe & sound in its case), has several options of how to attach it to something, etc.

Don't listen to the negatives, it's somebody who doesn't know how to insert the batteries! lol Have had it about 5 years in residential construction and going strong. My only negative is I need a new battery cover and they are hard to come by.

I bought this yesterday and im trying to turned it on and it don't work can someone tell how does the batteries go

I bought the laser level about a year ago. Used it to build a deck. Put it away in my tool box. Got it out the other day and batteries were dead. Put new batteries in it and now it comes on in the off position and and goes off when you turn it on. I have to take batteries out to turn it off so it will lock laser when not in use. Worked great the one time I used it.

After spending several frustrating hours trying to plumb columns in the wind with a plumb Bob, I gave up and bought the GPL5. It was a real pleasure getting the job done in a fraction of the time and more accurately.

Bought this for a job putting up 16 ft metal posts. We were previously using a 4 and then a 6 ft level but realized that still wasn't cutting it for a span of 16 ft. Used this and it made the job much easier and faster. Needed it for finding low spots on the floor and again it performed nicely. The only thing I didn't like was having to estimate the center of the laser dot at long distances. However this is a picky observation because if you're off less than a 16th at 30 plus ft, your still not off by that much. I would recommend this for a "step above home owner" person.

I clearly had not thought through how I was going to use this device when I bought it. It works as designed - and I may just not have figured it yet - but, as far as I can gather is essentially worthless outdoors. Unless there are walls or a "box" of some kind around it, there is nothing to focus on. The laser dot is incredibly difficult to locate and essentially requires two people to wander around until it hits them. The dot is also worthless in determining whether the post you are trying to position are plumb... For the right purpose I guess it could be useful but I have not yet determined that use.

I bought this some time ago and now that Im going to use it, it wont work. The laser wont turn on. What must I do?

I use this tool all the time in place of my old plumb bob. Its accuracy is excellent. I really like the magnet for attaching it to my telescoping pole.

Using 2 of these for large rectangular layouts is a massive time saver, not to mention being able to do it alone.

Originally, purchased for a home use and now I use it at my job sites, where my staff often drop the unit including me too, yet it keeps performing with a problem, extremely "Durable"!

Works great but I would like the green laser in some cases the red is hard to see. Very happy with the proformance.

I've been using this laser on a very regular basis for a couple years now and it has payed for itself 10x by now. Very accurate and easy to use. It's great for foundation and framing layouts. I can't imagine working without it these days. I focus on high end residential construction and the Bosch layout tools never let me down.

Doing a whole house remodel. Bought this to help line up can lights but have found many other uses for it.

All the details have been thought out on this one, works well for layout work. I am a GC.

WE needed a new laser and we cant open it up to get the batteries inside. Very annoyed,

I bought this laser level 3 yrs ago and it's a piece of junk. Can't see the dot at 80ft. The dot is too small and it is not bright enough to see. I can buy a cheap laser pointer that's brighter and bigger dot a whole lot cheaper. I rigg concerts and would not recommend this laser to anybody. At least the 3 point laser level can be seen at 117ft
