All parts sent did not relate to each other...all different dimensions. The shower ring had to be customized with parts sourced from other suppliers...very, very disappointed. Thank goodness for This Old House who showed this befuddled would be plumber how to make this expensive mistake work.

fairly easy to install. still it would have been nice to get general instructions along with a parts list.....looks nice...valves dont operate real smooth.

My family love’s our new shower! Would have been rated at Excellent but for 2 things....no instructions were included and no adapter to attach the shower head. Wasn’t easy finding one at the hardware store. Went to my local Home Depot and was sold the wrong one. Waste of $9! Most of the shower is common sense to set up but had me guessing on some of the smaller parts...overall am very happy with our new shower for our claw foot tub!

I like the look of the product and it was easy to install

I really like this faucet and surround unit. It went together easily, with good directions. The only problem we found was that the shower riser was too short for taller folks, so we bought a 6” nipple and coupler to increase the height of the shower head. It’s a good product!

No installation guide. The one on line was inadequate. Plumber had to adapt water supply hookup. Ones included did not work. Looks good.

Exactly what I needed

Great replacements for old house shower. Home was built in 1908.

Based on previous reviews, the manufacturer changed the riser to include the 3/8 bushing necessary for the shower head to attach. Unfortunately, they attached the bushing backwards for my unit (which I figured out because the shower head kept dripping), so I had to get a plumber to strip it out and put in a new one. Another important thing to be aware of is that the main faucet has 3/8 inch pipes, so a standard 1/2 inch faucet flex hose won't fit without an elbow adapter. Finally, I decided to keep my existing overhead railing system, since the one that came with this unit was smaller.

I installed this unit for a customer. The faucet itself seams to be good quality. The rest of it is kind of cheap thin metal. For the price it’s an ok unit. Plus it doesn’t come with a shower head.

Quality look and feel, easy to install but had to hunt down ells to connect the hoses.

Pros: Looks great While I recommended product, it is with reservations. Cons: - No instructions. Would have helped if they included instructions with information about the accessories needed for the install - Difficult installation in that the holes in fittings and riser did not match up (screws don't go in all the way, and the faucet head, when screwed on tightly is in the wrong position (but does not leak.

As noted by others, there were no instructions, but everything went together easily. Looks great and is sturdy and well designed. Love the faucet.

The shower head I ordered was 1/2 and does not fit on 3/8 riser. I've had to order adapter, which has not arrived yet.

The product itself is great. I spent a lot of time researching and looking for the perfect look for our tub. This was done online because nobody seems to display them in their store. This one is made of good solid materials, very good price, fit's perfectly with our claw foot bath tub, and has the perfect look for our 1910 house. The downside for both the manufacturer and Home Depot is that it requires a 1/2' male to 3/8" female male reducer to fit any shower head I could find. I had noticed comments in previous reviews, but thought they just hadn't picked the right shower head. Nope: Standard shower heads have a 1/2" fitting and the end of the Barclay shower riser is 3/8" male. It would make sense to me that they supply a reducer with the product (a $3.00 part retail and much less than that for them wholesale/bulk). Then it took trips to 3 different Home Depot stores before I finally found the reducer. Frustrating, but I'm very happy with the final result.

I liked this product a lot after it was installed. It worked fine and looked great. Now, after two years a part inside has worn out and my plumber cannot fix it. I contacted barclay products to see if I can get a replacement part from them, and customer service asked me to send pics of the worn out part. I did, followed up twice, but never heard back. This is the first time in my life that a faucet has "worn out" due to use, so I think 2 years is way below expectations. Not worth the money and installation costs.

I recently installed this shower adapter on an old cast iron tub to make our guest bathroom more functional. Overall the installation went well. Note that the threaded pipe nipples are not tapered so if you need to use supply lines different than the ones sold by BarClay that can be a little annoying. I ended up using flexible hot water heater lines because of space requirements. Installed it looks good and the shower ring is stable enough, although we probably will add another wall mount on one side to stabilize it more.

My contractor had some minor issues installing. He said that the pipe fittings were not right. He said it was a pretty easy fix. I warned him ahead of time because I read the reviews before purchasing. It was a very good price compared to others that I looked at.

This faucet is beautiful (the chrome shine will blind you) & well made, and considering that it also came with a shower curtain ring, it blows away pricing compared to some of the other, comparable but much higher priced faucets. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to go searching for a separate shower ring and have to do a separate purchase for it. This was one stop shopping for this project. If you know anything about plumbing at all, installation is a snap. If you don't know or have no experience, it's still easy to figure out. The only "glitch" with the installation (and I was grateful to have been forewarned by reading the other reviews for this product before I purchased it) was that the shower riser size is smaller than all shower heads (and this kit does not come with a reducer), so you'll need to purchase a 3/8" male to x 1/2" female reducer. I bought the reducer at our local Home Depot store. The only downside was that it was copper, so it doesn't match the chrome riser and shower head. Once the reducer is screwed into both fixtures, though, it's barely visible, so it was no biggie for my wife and I. After all, it's inside the shower and covered up by the shower curtain. If you're a "purest," though, you might be able to order a chrome one in advance of your installation. The shower curtain ring and supports are also very sturdy. You may need to cut-to-size the shower curtain ring supports to length, according to the distance from your ceiling. You'll need a hack saw or small plumber's pipe cutter. This product allowed me to utilize my grandfathers 1921 claw foot tub (that I re-glazed) and keep a piece of family history alive. Two last notes: when I turned the faucet on for it's initial test, one of the faucet junctions leaked even though it was turned off. All you need to do is to out a wrench on the exterior nut between the handle and mounting nut and snug up the connection. I suggest placing a towel or something comparable over the nut first so that the jaws of your pipe wrench don't scratch the chrome. Finally, and although it states it clearly on the website when ordering, and just as a reminder, this product is for CAST IRON TUBS ONLY. YOU CANNOT USE ON AN ACRYLIC TUB.
