Our bedroom windows face the brutal South Texas sun. Cheap-mid level blinds have actually warped from the heat. With one of us always working nights and needing to sleep during the day, we had to have a blind that provided darkness and would stop the heat.
These Bali cellular blinds are worth every penny. We bought the first set about 3 years ago and they still work perfectly, so we moved those to a guest room that also faces the sun and just picked up a new set for our bedroom. Since they first came out Bali has made GREAT improvements, including new hanging hardware that makes hanging super easy as well as small clear plastic pulls that make it easier to pull down.
While these blinds are a little more expensive compared to typical blinds....the energy they save you as well as the darkness they provide makes them well worth the price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Really blocks out the light! Saved $$'s by buying one of the more "standard sizes" available and then had it cut to size at my local Home Depot. As you can see from my picture, a small amount of light shines in on the edges--but this is expected with any kind of pull-down blind. The wider width blinds comes with two pull-down handles instead of one.

I ordered 71' x 72" and received 70.5" x 72". It's amazing how much 1/2" of light comes into the room. I ordered blackout for a reason and had I received what I ordered, it would've block out a lot more light!!!! My brother recommended these as he has them in his whole house. VERY disappointed!

poorly cut, poor quality
Very unhappy with my purchase. These were supposed to be the same size and came out two very different sizes with uneven jagged cuts. Returned in store and had them cut me new ones. Take the time to go to the store! Much more reliable quality.

Just finished hanging 7 of these in about 1hr in my office. After the 1st one, they all go fast. What i think I will like is the Bali lifetime warranty for defects in the event anything goes wrong that's not due to neglect or wear and tear. I originally brought home 1 shade of Home depots home collection series to see if the wife would like them. She did, but after reading the reviews on line and comparing the these Bali shades to the HD series, I decided to gamble on the Bali at about $7 a shade higher vs. the Home depot model. For 1, the warranty appears to be better as I could not find much on the limited lifetime warranty on the the HD series, and 2 they have the pull down tabs, which are not available on the Home depot series. Additionally, the hardware appears to be higher quality on the Bali and the instructions are much better. I will say however that comparing fabric, the Home depot collection series is softer vs. the Bali shades. So, while I like the Home Depot Fabric better, the Bali shades look nice and I hope to get many good years of service out of them. If we don't, I hope the warranty will bail us out.

I was in the drapery/shade business for 30 years. I needed these shades to darken a bedroom. They are perfect! The headrail is plastic but who cares, it snapped into the brackets perfectly. I am very happy with the shade material quality also. I installed this cordless shade as an inside mount underneath an existing wood blind that was not dark enough for the bedroom.

Valance & bottom rail all had minor dings (to 1/4") from being cut. Mostly covered by end caps but if I were really choosy, I would have returned one since you can see the missing chip. Although they are advertised as "Bali", and come in a box that clearly says "Bali" the company that gives the inside installation sheet and warranty is "Spring Window Fashions", not Bali. I had some issues getting the blinds installed. (1) instructions do not remind you to remove the 2 plastic blocks that are left in the top of the blind from when they cut the blinds. You can't mount them on the spring clips if the blocks are still there, slide them out and discard (2) there is no instruction on installing the pull tab, which I found necessary to slide over the end first, and pull to the center of the bottom rail (it won't snap on) then fit the end caps to the rails. It took a little doing to install, mostly because I couldn't figure out from their poor diagrams which way to put the spring clip. Take a close look at diagram #9 for inside mount and by the shape they show, you'll be able to figure out which way to install the clips.
That said, the material is heavy and darkening. I had windows 28" and 28.25" and I ordered the 28.5 and it just barely fit the 28" wide window, but it did, including the end caps which extend beyond the width of the blinds. Nice tight fit.
I just bought blinds from blinds.com and was not happy with them, even if they were aluminum rails and these are vinyl. They look find once installed and I would purchase again.

Before purchasing, I had some concerns over how these would look in my windows due to the limited lengths available. My front window has four openings, two which are approximately 30" long and two which are about 50". I decided to purchase two of the 48"s and two of the 72"s to be safe. The installation was foolproof and straight forward. All you need is a straight edge, some measuring tape, and a screwdriver. I opted for full blackout, and they certainly get the job done!

Blackout Cellular Shades that Make a Difference
We'd had some issues in our bedrooms with too much light from poor quality plastic venetian blinds that were letting light through, and also broken and sad looking. The new shades were simple to install (I even did it by myself), look nice, and had the added benefit of no cords, so that they'll make the room dark for sleep and safe for small people for years to come. My only issue was that I didn't look closely enough at the window casing, and so was forced to do an exterior mount when I had measured for an interior mount, but it still looks great, and the light blockage is still vastly superior to what it would have been otherwise.

Cut ti size cellular blinds
I needed six blinds to cover three sets of french doors on the back of our house. We get a lot of sun between 11-3 and I wanted to protect our new furniture and carpeting. I researched many types of blinds and for the price these blinds can't be beat. My husband installed them in about 10 minutes per blind. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice look of the blinds. Thanks to Home Depot and Bali for some great blinds.

A good option for privacy shades
The blackout shades were relatively easy to install (compared with others I've installed over the years). Instructions were well-written and understandable. Strangely, one of the six shades that I purchased and installed was actually manufactured BACKWARD, with the internal winding mechanism mounted on the opposite end from the other five. With a minor adjustment, I was able to install it correctly. But I was surprised by this unusual quirk. The shades really do black-out all external light from entering the rooms, and the cordless version gives a nice, clean appearance.

Exactly what in as looking for!
I have wide windows in my bedroom and lights from the road bothered me at night. In addition, I wanted an easy way to provide privacy. This shade is absolutely perfect. It was super easy to install and took about 15 minutes. It looks great up or down and does a good job of blocking the light. I am sorry that I waited to so long to purchase one. I am planning to buy the same shade for other rooms. I haven't used it in the winter yet, but I think it will also provide good insulation because of the honeycomb structure. It was a great buy overall - price and quality! This picture is of the shade halfway down.

Did exactly what I wanted
I am a retired widow, but the shade was very easy for me to put up. Just screw the brackets into the window from & snap the shade frame into the brackets. It is wonderful at blocking out my neighbors bright light into the bedroom.

Decent Product with Budget Friendly Price
If you're looking for a budget price, these fit the bill. Great that these are cut to size to fit any width, but unlike the more expensive, you have to settle for the length, although I only have a couple exta inches at the bottom that does not look bad when fully opened. Ok, that being said, the draw back is the plastic frame on top and bottom just makes these look a bit on the cheap side, but dressing up with a curtain or shear will make them appeal more home friendly. The cordless is a huge, making the window pop with appeal. Nice, easy, up, down, stop where-ever you like works perfect and really a big part of why bought. Room darkening works perfect, especially as these were used in a bedroom and was looking for privacy without neighbors being able to see in and maybe a couple extra minutes sleeping in on the weekends. As for installation, really pretty simple as mostly done by 17 yr old son. Pre-drill the holes and a little soap on the screws made installation quick. Did 3 of these in about an hour, and neither I or son have done many do it yourself home projects. As for delivery time, received these way ahead of the guestamated time at checkout. Would I buy these again and would I recommend these? If you want to dress up the windows with a decent product with a lower budget in mind, I'd buy these again and would recommend them to a friend!

Very appropriate product for rehabbing an older property for resale in a hotter than average temperature.
These shades are very adaptable as the can be mounted on the outside and/or inside of the window casing. As a black out shade they make any room a sleeping room shutting out street lights, neighbors porch light and auto lights. We have converted two of the 7 units from an outside mount to an inside mount by saving the cutting blocks. This became necessary as we had new windows installed which required the change. Having them inside the casing places them out of the way so you won't running them. I do not recommend the special order units as you lose the versatility I just referenced and they are twice as expensive.

Quality shade, great value
We purchased 3 of these sandstone cellular shades several months back and just installed 4 additional. We have plantation shutters, however, we live in FL and we were looking for shades to combine with the shutters to further darken upstairs bedrooms from early morning light as well as help to reduce heat intrusion through the windows. Our goal was to find a quality shade that would still appear attractive when viewed from outside our home and would be an upgrade from the existing inexpensive vinyl shades that did not recoil reliably and were degrading with time. This product fit the bill. Keeps its shape and compresses to small footprint. We did not have to adjust the size and installation was easy. Shades are reasonably priced and are performing well so far.

Looks good, functional, great for a child's room
We wanted shades to go in our newborn's room. It was ideal to get the variety that don't have a cord for when he becomes in danger of being able to pull on it or get strangled.
This shade does a very good job of blacking out sunlight in the room, we are very happy. Additionally, it's up and down action is very smooth, feels very high quality.

Great Blackout Blind; Durable build quality
I purchased this blind to replace a 12 year old custom blind that had multiple problems; cells collapsed; drawstring system was broken for several years, For the high price it was very flimsy construction. This replacement blind appears much heavier duty, was simple to install and the blackout feature is very effective especially for such a light colored blind. I would highly recommend this product and will purchase again to replace other blinds in my home.

Shade arrived quickly. It was cut a little short and had a rough edge from sawing. Shade is doing what was expected. It matched other shades we had bought from Home Depot several years ago. Glad they still carried the brand and color.
