I was replacing shades so I did not have to mount the holders, I just dropped the shade into the existing holders and was done in 30 seconds. But even if I did have to mount them, it is very easy and the shade goes up or down with a simple pull.

This shade lasted about two weeks before the spring failed. I roll it up by hand every morning

If you pull the shade all the way down it will not return - this has happened with two shades and I am keeping a spare on hand now in case it happens again. I suppose if you are careful not to pull the shade all the way down you may not have a problem. Shade is not of good quality, made in China. It is inexpensive and you get what you pay for. Best I can give it is OK for the price.

They just won't roll up or down. No matter what you do they will say in whatever position they are. You are better off paying a little extra to get better quality. Unaligned and super thin as well

Does what a shade is supposed to do. Simple installation, no problems. Very good value.

A lightweight shade that filters the sun. The winding mechanism is unimpressive, but I just leave the shade down all day, so it doesn't affect me. Overall, this is a "you get what you pay for" purchase - without the sarcastic edge that often comes with that statement! The price is more than reasonable, and the shade is acceptable.

I ordered a larger size than the window and went into my local store to cut the proper size because I didn't know how much to take off of the window measurement. Fits great!

I ordered these shades for a bedroom window. I just needed something to block out the Las Vegas sun but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I already had curtains up, but needed the roller shade behind the curtain to help block out the light. These shades are so easy to install, very simple. They look nice, but most of all they are doing what they are supposed to do. Can't beat the price!

I have purchased shades in the past with Home Depot and had few problems. However, this time I put the shades up and had broken springs immediately. Also one was not measured I returned the shades and got replacements, eventually (within a week) the springs failed again. It seems the vendor as either changed or the vendors quality has changed. Either way I will be going to Lowes to try their shades now.

We use this shade over a bay window for privacy at night. It was easy to install and a very good value.

Not very good quality. Covers the window for privacy. Next time will go for mini blinds. They will actually be cheaper than shades for my size windows.

This shade is being used horizontally to cover an audio mixer. It works great, rolls out of the way during audio use and keeps dust and debris off the mixer.

Bought 2 shades. One would not catch in the down position, no matter how I adjusted it. The other I found one or 2 positions (about a foot below the window sill). Release it, and is shoots up and slaps against the roll, then drops to more than half way down the window. You can hold it so it retracts slowly and it won't fly up, but still will not open more than half way. Turn it to reduce tension and it only catches near the floor and retracts to 1/4 window opening. Similar experience with roller shades from the other big box guys. When did civilization lose the technology to make a working roller shade?!? Only other options are cellular shades for like $60 per window, or vinyl mini-blinds if you have hours of free time to keep them dusted.

I bought this to replace the outdated medicine cabinet. I preferred a mirror only because it is modern and didn't find that I needed the extra space a medicine cabinet offers. Overall for the price it is a great purchase and the quality is good.

OK, I know how to install and use roller shades but these are a nightmare. One hem was nearly an inch off square at the bottom and the one I exchanged it for was only slightly better. The tension can not be properly adjusted which causes the shades to be either too weak to go up or too tight to lower without risking a hernia. Still, I decided to keep them and see if the springs would give a little. Bad choice. This morning I went to raise the shades and one wouldn't go up more than a foot. The other zipped to the top and launched out of the brackets like a javelin throw taking out my light, terrorizing my dog and skewering a lovely old cabinet before finally coming to rest an astonishing distance from the window. These shades do not function at all unless you want to use them in a window where they never have to go up and down. This is a bad product.

The product that I purchased was standard, off-the-shelf but needed to be contractor grade instead of consumer grade due to job considerations

Vinyl tends to curve inward once fully extended. Shade only glued to a cardboard roll which eventually pulls off of. When cutting yourself, be aware of the thin metal rod in center. Pulley doesn't set properly when fully extended so won't catch at certain lengths. Adding mounting brackets takes away coverage to windows so if looking for complete privacy, won't work.

I have a bonus room that from my backyard looking in I needed to make the windows white to match the borders of my house. Since the inside of the room is getting nice curtains, I was looking for the absolute cheapest and easiest way to shade the windows white. These worked to perfection. I do want to mention, if you are looking for a corvette at a kia price, this is not your item. I was looking for a kia at a kia price. It is a flat plain shade which was perfect for me. Thank you.

Arrived quickly in great shape. Cut to size exactly as ordered. Very easy to install. Mainly, I wanted to cover my windows at night and they do this perfectly, you simply cannot see in. Easy to raise and lower. Very nice product and Home Depot service!

I ordered 2 window shades. One was fine; the other had a small tear on one side just above the bottom casing. I've glued it and hope it will hold up since I'm putting it in a window that isn't used much. Then I noticed "made in China." Would you please supply "made in the USA" products!!!
