Disappointed in performance and in B&D customer service
When I first got this mower in the heat of last summer, I noted that it left a row of clippings ejected out the right side of the mower. This happened whether I was mulching or bagging (rear bag). The amount was annoying, but something I could live with. However, the amount of clippings ejected when mowing this spring and summer's more lush grass, was well beyond what I could tolerate. I always had to rake afterwards. I contacted Black and Decker, who provided the location of an approved local service center. That service center sent it to the nearest Black and Decker center, who after 3 weeks, told me they found nothing wrong and returned it unchanged. My previous mower (also a cordless electric) did a good job, and my back-up reel mower does as good or better a job than this one.

Great Mower for my small yard & bad shoulder!
This mower is great! Comes almost completely assembled, easy start (no more killing my bad shoulder trying to pull start mower!), battery was ready in a couple hours after unpacking & putting it on charger, and mower has more power than I thought a battery powered mower would have! Mower did not have any problem cutting down the 10 inches of grass that had grown since I mowed last! I had to go slower than normal and empty the grass catcher often but it made it through the whole yard without recharging the battery. Great that mower folds and stores upright. And no more gas and oil - or running the mower until it runs out of gas so it doesn't go bad in the mower. Have mowed several times since initial mowing and mower now zips right through the grass. Definitely glad I made purchase - hopefully mower will last for years.

Does a great job, exceeds 1/3 acre rating
So far so good. I have a half acre, most of which is mowed with my riding mower, but I still need a walk behind to get around the house perimeter, and between a large number of pine trees and other obstacles. These locations are too awkward for the rider to reach. Nevertheless, I wanted to see just how long this would last on a full charge. As it turns out I was able to mow my entire half acre, with the power starting to drop off only at the very end. No earplugs needed with this one. A battery gauge would be good, but you can tell by listening for the most part.

Exactly what I needed!
I finally decided to upgrade from the reel mower that I've been using for years. I love that I can mow my yard without breathing in gas fumes, and that I'm not attached to a cord. My first mow was through some pretty overgrown grass, and although I had to take a couple passes over it, the mower did great and my lawn looks beautiful. It is pretty heavy (especially coming from a reel!) and my yard is really bumpy, so I think I'll eventually regret not spending that extra money for the self-propelled model... but I'm happy for now. And I love that I can fold the handles down to fit the mower into a tight spot in my small garage!

Battery operated.....YEAH!
We are so pleased to be rid of electrical cords! The mower did a wonderful job on our lawn for over 30 minutes, and we never felt the battery was loosing steam.

Love this electric workhorse
When I had a smaller yard I had a lighter, quieter, green mower. Now that I have 1/2 an acre I needed to step up my mowing game but still wanted a rechargeable electric. I've had the Black and Decker for 2 months and it does everything I want it to do. I can get the whole yard done on one charge and it makes a nice wide and even swath through the yard.

Second one, Fit my needs perfectly
Strong points include easy height adjustment, no fooling with gas or oil, and consistent instant trouble free operation. This is my second B/D electric mower. After 7 years the first one has nearly worn out so it was probably about the same price to buy a new one versus fixing wheels, blade, skirt and a new battery. I have a premier grass lawn and also several larger areas that are heavy weeds. This unit handles either with ease. Although 70, I still like the exercise of a push mower, so that is not an issue.

Works Great!
I looked at a number of electric mowers, and this one is the only model I found that had everything I was looking for. Its a good size mower and is extremely easy to use. It might look in the pictures like it would be a heavy machine, but its actually very light and handles very well. Its easy as can be to switch out batteries for larger mows, I bought an extra battery for that purpose. Its also nice that it easily collapses to fit in an out-of-the-way place in my garage. All in all, I'm quite pleased.

Light, Sturdy, No stink
This is a replacement for our previous B&D cordless mower purchased 8 years ago – it rarely required any service but I have worn out the wheels, the battery is expiring and I finally broke the starter cable.
Overall, this one works great, just like the previous model. Lightweight, very sturdy, starts with no effort , runs quietly with no fumes and easily mows our city-sized lot with power to spare.
Great new feature – removable battery! This allows buying an extra battery so, after I mow my yard, I can loan the mower to my curious neighbor for his yard.
Disappointing features – and there were a few. No battery life indicator. However, you can tell by the sound of the motor when it is getting low on a charge. New starting switch also is slightly awkward – push a button on the side of the handle before compressing the bail (right term?) to start. I’ll get used to that. And the height adjustment – squeeze and raise/lower the deck – the ratcheting effect between settings was simple and solid on my old mower. On this one, it does not seem to engage so when I squeeze the adjusting mechanism and then release - it usually drops to the lowest setting. This may just be a defect in this unit since there is no positive engage/release feel when I squeeze or release the adjustment mechanism.
But overall – I love the mower and previously converted both of my grown kids to buy this style mower for their homes.

Product arrived with a cracked housing, hopefully not a safety issue. Easy to put together, easily to use and provides a good cut for the yard.

Topped my expectations for an electric mower
Many positive reviews led me to purchase one of these. It had its maiden voyage in possibly the worst conditions as described in the manual: tall grass 12-15" high and moderately damp after a spring shower. I figured, however, that if the mower couldn't handle a bit of stress then it wouldn't be worth the effort to keep using it. (That and I couldn't wait any longer to tackle the jungle growing in our yard -- but I would otherwise be cautious about running an electric device in wet conditions.)
The mower surpassed my expectations. It took down the tall grass with two passes, and the battery lasted long enough to cut about 3,000 sq ft of yard. I recharged for about two hours and did one more run at a lower height setting to finish. I appreciate the height adjustment, which is very easy to use.
It is a bit heavy and difficult to maneuver at turns, so I would not recommend it for tight yards. The handle padding is also a little thin, so I would consider adding another layer for comfort. But the mower is quiet, starts easily (push button) and has none of the mess of oil/gas. It cuts fairly well and is sturdy despite being made of plastic. Can't speak to the longevity of the product yet - but I would be happy with at least four mowing seasons.
All in all a good purchase!

Works great for small lawns
This mower took little time to charge, and easily handled my lawn area with plenty of charge left. Blade cuts nicely, and suction into the rear bag works amazingly well. Starts and shuts off instantly; runs much quieter than the gas mower I previously used. Remote charging is great in my garage. Love the one-hand blade height adjustment!

4yrs and still going strong!
I love this mower. We have a relatively large yard and its still working great. It's just as powerful as my previous Troy Built gas mower. I haven't noticed any degradation on the battery, but I do bring it inside during the winter and put it on the charger a couple of times. It can mow the front, back and rear alley and never run out of juice. In the fall, its great for bagging. But I do run out of battery, but that's after 20 or so big yard waste bags full. If something happened to this mower, I definitely would run out and buy another one just like it. I think the key is taking care of the battery. Keep it charged and bring it in the warm house in the winter.

I have had this lawnmower for 6 years, and cannot recommend it or other Black & Decker mowers to anyone as more than a large paperweight. This lawnmower worked well for the first year I had it. After that, the battery's capacity dwindled over time. Three years after purchasing the lawnmower, the original battery couldn't hold any charge so I replaced it. That battery did the same thing as the first- worked well for a year, but its capacity dwindled enough that it's useless three years after its purchase. Through all of this, Black & Decker's customer support has been useless, and they don't seem to care that their products are of a horrible quality with warranties that aren't useful at all. Don't waste your money.

Good until motor dies
Worked as advertised until motor suddenly stopped working after four years. Drove hour each way to nearest service center to find out that motor replacement cost almost as much a new mower. Planning to replace with a different brand with a better warranty.

32v non-selfpropelled mower...Ehh, not great
I have had this mower for five years now. It was fantastic the first year and did a beautiful job as long as I mowed weekly. At this point, I can charge the battery for days and it will barely function. From Day One the chute would clog quickly so need to be cleared constantly as I mowed. Now, I am ready for a more reliable 80v Ryobi like my neighbor has.

Piece of Junk
After two years of moderate use, the battery no longer holds a charge more than 10 minutes. The blade rotor will not turn - there is no obstruction. Internal grinding sound heard when turning the blade. Unit always in a shed/garage. Very disapointed. Will never buy or recommend the product.

We live in NH with a 2 month mowing season and have a VERY small lawn 50X50'. This mower's battery had to be replaced after 1 year, then the motor seized up 2.5 years after purchase, just out of warranty... Very disappointing $399 purchase.

I purchased this product 5 years ago and it's still running great! I've followed the manufacturer advise of keeping the battery on a charge, even in the winter and it's kept it's charge the entire time. I'm able to do both my front and back lawns with one charge. The battery removes from the mower and charges using a cord to a socket. The adjustment pedal for the cutting heights are easy to use. I just leave the safety key in the mower, so I don't lose it. The wheels are not powered, so it's just the blades that spin.
I would say the only negative thing is the battery compartment can sometimes get grass and other stuff in it making it difficult to remove the battery easily because it's such a tight fit.

Disappointed
Disappointed. Ordered online and had it shipped to my local Home Depot. Picked it up and unpacked it to find a tire was off. Started to install the handle just to find it didn't fit. There was 1/2 inch gap on both side between the handle and the mounting bracket. Contacted Home Depot to return for replacement. It wasn't in stock! Not available on line ! They couldn't fix it. Returned for a refund. Very disappointed i Black & Decker. Where is the quality control?
