Just the ticket!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was remodeling my bathroom and instead of replacing the vanity, I had the sinks and tops reglazed and painted the bottom with Scuff Defense. It was a pleasure to use! It went on smoothly and dried to a smooth, sleek finish that has a slight shine. Exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to wipe off and is holding up well to regular bathroom use. It has a hard finish so is not affected by fingernails hitting cabinets while opening. I'm very pleased with my choice of Behr Scuff Defense.

Covered Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This paint went on great. Covered nice. Since it has been on it hasn't shown any scratches or gouges. This went on a table that is used in the laundry room. It looks like I won't have to repaint it for a long time.

Love this color and this paint!

I covered an ugly red door and did not need to prime prior to painting. It was smooth and easy to work with. You can feel the quality of the paint. I also love their color selection, Broadway is my favorite!

Blocks against toddlers

It’s not always easy but they come off!!! It could be dirt, food, paint scuff from a toy or even crayon.... it’s come off!

Not Impressed
I purchased this paint to be used by a professional painter on the new construction of my basement. The entire area was primed with PVA and after 3 coats of paint there is still not full coverage even though this paint states it has primer in it. The family room has areas where the sheen goes from shiny to dull on the ceilings. The one bedroom where we used the Ultra Pure White, you can see where it is cut in at the corners as the paint leaves brush lines and shows through as a greyish color.
The painter is going to go with a fourth coat (new construction should never have to use this much), but I will not be using this brand for any more of the projects as we go forward. Expensive lesson that will not be repeated!

A sheen inconsistency and poor coverage can sometimes happen when new drywall isn't fully sealed before painting. New drywall is very porous, and if it isn't sealed properly first, it can absorb paint at different rates, causing some areas to look shinier than others. I understand that everything was sealed with a PVA primer, but it's possible that some areas needed an extra coat.
When cutting in, we recommend working in small sections (about 3' wide) by cutting in and rolling on the paint while the cut-in areas are still wet. This will help prevent the cut-in areas from drying first, which can make them look darker than the rest of the wall.

Semi-Gloss Won't Go On Smoothly
This paint leaves the worst finish. If you are trying to get a somewhat smooth finish with a semi-gloss paint, this is not the paint to use. The directions indicate you should use a 3/8-1/2" nap roller and do not thin the paint with water if using a brush or roller. However, this paint is so thick it leaves a very rough surface. Any attempt to smooth it out only makes it worse. It's like trying to spread refrigerated butter on Wonder bread. I have sanded between coats and tried using a 1/4" nap roller and an applicator. Nothing works. Horrible paint!

Hi kingjd121, thank you for your review. I am so sorry the paint was so thick and left a rough surface. I recommend letting the last coat dry for at least 24 hours, gently sanding smooth with 180-240 grit sandpaper, cleaning the surface and letting it dry, then touching up and recoating as needed. Also, I suggest stirring the paint in the container for 5 minutes to see if it goes back to a smoother, creamy consistency. If it does not, it is best to stop using this container and get a new one for recoating your project. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Best paint ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Three houses always have used behr pain. Usually always start with the premium ceiling white. I sometimes use this on the walls as a primer for my satin or semi gloss used. Love them both equally. The deck cement paint is also amazing. Going to use on steps going to basement on new to me house I just bought.

RUNS DRIPS AND ERRORS!
This is the worst paint I've used in 30 years. Every time I turn around there is another scuff defense run! It doesn't cover either! See pictures. The wall was sanded prior to paint! The paint was mixed just prior to application.

To get your project back on track, we'd recommend sanding any rough areas on your surface, cleaning them, allowing them to completely dry, and touching up the affected areas. To ensure proper consistency, we'd suggest stirring your paint for 3-5 minutes before using it. Keep in mind that although our Ultra Scuff Defense Paint is self-priming, it's not guaranteed to cover in a specific amount of coats. Multiple coats may be needed to achieve your desired coverage.

Beautiful colors!

The previous owner had mismatching beige colors and it dragged the light down. We painted our living room a beautiful blue-gray color, mortar and did an accent wall with a rich dark blue, city steel.
