Hi there, thanks for your review. I'm sorry about any confusion regarding the size of our containers. Yes, the deep base for our Ultra Exterior paint does not have a full 5 gallons inside. This is to ensure there is enough room in the container to add colorant for your chosen color without causing the container to overflow. I hope this info helps clarify things for you. The paint should be a smooth creamy consistency and will typically cover in two coats over an already primed surface.
