Customer Reviews for BEHR MARQUEE 1 gal. #MQ2-47 Midtown One-Coat Hide Eggshell Enamel Interior Paint & Primer

I have used this color throughout my home in various sheens of the Marquee brand. I am very pleased with the outcome. I do wish Marquee offered Gloss/High Gloss as I had to switch to Behr Ultra which I felt didn’t provide as clean a finish. The other reviewer appears to receive a bad batch of this shade. It is not a pale blue nor pale lavender. The true color should be white with a blue undertone (which will be obvious when you stir up a fresh can of paint). The finished product will be white. It pairs nicely with Mainsail which is a pale blue. Attached image is Maui Mist on the lower half wall and cabinet. Mainsail on the wall.

First time I tried a one coat paint. I was painting a blue- green medium dark paint over a light grey color. Coverage was great, better than expected.

We wanted to repaint our room and this paint and color were a perfect match! I thought this paint seemed a little lighter than what I wanted on the pictures, but I tried it out. I love the color! The color turned out perfect and it literally only took one coat to do the entire room! I loved it so much we are going to paint our bathroom to match!

I've tried several types of cheaper paints that were supposedly one-coat and I ended up having to apply two to three coats. Once you spend hours cutting and painting a bathroom, getting behind the toilet and contorting to get over the shower and then realize the previous color (primer white!) is still showing through and that you're going to have to do it all over again, you'll realize the cheaper paints are not worth it. I save money with this paint because I don't have to buy as much paint because it actually covers in one coat. Make sure you do the measurements to the room size because I ended up buying an extra gallon, thinking I would need it and I did not. This wonderful paint means not having to cut and roll twice, saving me a lot of time and energy. Base of Ultra Pure White in Eggshell, room color in Dew Pointe.

Color I selected apparently wasn't one that offers the one coat coverage guarantee. As such it didn't coat the under color fully and left bleed through color. I would have rather bought 2 gallons of there regular paint, instead of extra on this. Staff didn't inform me of this catch to the guarantee.

So you know the painters tape that people use to tape corners, borders, etc.? Well as we finished painting & waited a long time for it to dry, we finally started peeling off the tape & this paint came off with it! We taped the walls so we can paint the borders white & as I started peeling, again, the paint peeled right off! So disappointed in the paint that we got (it was a 1 gallon). We also purchased 2 different colored paints in the 5 gallon size & those were perfect! They dried good & no problems with peeling at all. I don't know if they just mixed the forgot the paint wrong but it was horrible. Unfortunately, we had to start painting a month after we received the paint so I can't even return this gallon because of their "30 day return paint policy."

Wow. A beautiful real “Gray”. Would re-do my bathrooms (done in silent solemn which is a lighting blue) with this color but maybe later. Great Paint and color. Painted family room, kitchen, utility room, and hallways in “Eggshell” while Living room and Dining Room in “Matte”. Again, beautiful paint!

Went on well, very little splatter or dripping. Applied 2 coats to give better coverage and deeper appearance. Color match between the 3 gallons was perfect.

Love Behr paint covers in one coat. Loved the color!

this paint covered a darker paint with one coat, will buy again for sure. Less work involved

This the gray I was looking for. It is a very light gray with no hint of blue like so many other grays I considered. I used this to paint my garage walls and also painted a couple of large storage cabinets in the darker gray 'Shark Fin'. I'm very happy with the color(s) and the paint itself. It took about 2.5 gallons to paint the 2 car garage with two coats. It had finished walls but had never been painted.

I'll never use anything else. Marquee covers like a dream in just one coat. One quart was enough for this project covering steel blue.

If I could give this paint 4 1/2 stars I would. So the paint color is really beautiful and it has been the game changer in our master bedroom remodel. With that being said, the worst thing about this paint is that if you don't primer first, it will take probably 2-3 coats to truly cover any previous paint other than white or extremely light colors. We were covering a grayish brown color and we barely got by with 1 gallon of paint because we overestimated its ability to cover the old color completely. It still turned out great and the quality of the paint is really good but you will likely need more than one coat without primer. I do have to say we primered a different room and then painted with Behr Marquee and it did cover with 1 coat. Overall, we are very happy with the color and quality of our freshly painted room!

Beautiful color for the bathroom.

purchased 4 gallons to repaint bathroom that was previously painted a lighter color. Wanted to use same paint/color for attached bedroom and wanted a once and done. Not! Needed to hit the bathroom with 2 coats for consistency in color. Don't know what I'm gonna do with the other 3 gallons but I'm not using it for the much bigger bedroom. Very unhappy with quality. I've used Behr before in my kitchen and bath with no issues. Would not use this again.

The color exceeded our expectations for our sun room. It did cover in 1 coat but 2 coats made it really pop. We were able to give this room two coats with 1 gallon of paint but that was because the room was filled with 3 large windows and 1 large patio slider and 1 wall had a large open doorway.

I only wrote this review after looking at other paint brands and how they hold up over the years. Apparently the 3 years that this paint took to chip, crack, and flake is unacceptable for premium paints. It took three years after painting with this paint to require a new paint job. The south side, the north side - all sides of the house are chipping, flaking, and cracking. This is truly a terrible paint.

It covered my dark red wall with 2 coats!

It's a beautiful color. I painted an accent wall in my guest room. HOWEVER, it took 3 coats on a light grey wall to fully cover. I can only imagine how many coats I would've needed of the other versions of this. If you are wanting this red, be prepared to put at least 3 coats on.

I am so in love with this color! I painted an accent wall in my bedroom and master bath. It took 2 coats but it's absolutely stunning. I'm extremely pleased.

The paint was beautiful and made the room pop and stand out it took two coats per wall though but that may have just been because I had a little helper!

Great product love the primer mixed in with paint. Made it a nice one and done deal.

Behr will be my #1 paint of choice from now on. I used the satin enamel "Dayflower" on my accent wall and it exceeded my expectations! I actually enjoyed painting the wall because the paint went on so smooth and I still have half a gallon left. This color "Dayflower" is beautiful with natural sunlight or with the bedroom lights on or with the lights dimmed. It gives me the exact effect I wanted.

Good thing I got a sample because this color is definitely more of a blueish green than a green!

I like this paint, I’ve used it a few times. I got this color for the first time and despite this tier being considered “one coat coverage” it is not. It does go on nice and thick, but since I was covering a light wall, I had to do two coats to get full coverage. Since I needed to do that, I don’t think it was worth the price of the paint when I could have purchased the tier down and expected to do a second coat with that.

It worked Very Well!!!

Had to coat 2x for proper coverage. Wall started with a light blue. After I painted a second time around, it had like these weird streaks of unevenness, will have to do a 3rd coat. Area painted was 189 SF (with the 2nd coat, 378 SF Total, gallon is suppose to cover 400 SF). The gallon barely made it. For the price of the “Marquee” line, I expected it flawless upon the 2nd coat. 3 stars is for e beautiful color. The ugly uneven streaks in the sample image below are throughout the entire wall.
