We are happy to say that as of June, 1981, Armstrong Flooring, Inc. no longer manufactures commercial resilient flooring product or adhesives that contain asbestos. For your safety, if you have a VCT product in your home which was installed prior to June 1981, it would be highly recommended that you test them for asbestos. We hope this information is helpful. Good morning Stephen. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry this floor was not what you were expecting. If you were trying to match a floor from a picture it can be difficult to do from a photo on a computer. If you already had the Animal Crackers Excelon Vinyl Tile installed and you were trying to match the existing flooring you would have needed to order flooring from the same dye lot as the original floor. VCT is a very dye lot specific product, each run of this flooring is assigned a specific lot number because each run can have different shading. VCY installed from different dye lots will look like a different floor. I am sorry the flooring took as long as it did to arrive. Typically it is only a week or two for arrival. Each carton of flooring should not contain a drastic amount of color variation, the tiles should be very close in shading. If the color variation was from more than one carton of flooring, it is quite possible that you received flooring from more than one dye lot. With VCT it is important to stay within the same dye lot because different runs of the same flooring can have different shading. I do apologize for any inconvenience. Have a great day.

I am sorry to hear that you received damaged material, it was not our intention. We don't ship flooring that is visibly damaged, so it sounds as though the flooring was damaged during shipment. A freight claim should have been filed on the material so that it could have been replaced with good material. Again I am sorry for any inconvenience this issue has caused. Have a great day.

It is important for us to hear feedback from our customers, and we thank you for taking the time to write us. I apologize for the inconvenience; however, when installing VCT it is extremely important to make sure that the dye lot of the tiles is the same. Each time a new batch of VCT is mixed it is possible and likely that the shading of the tile can be different. The only way we can guarantee a shade match with VCT is to order all cartons from the same dye lot. The only recommendation we can make if you have two groups of tile and the colors aren't a perfect match is, you need to make sure everything is nice and clean after the job is installed and maybe give the tile a light scrub with a neutral detergent and a blue/green 3m scrubbing pad or equal (nothing coarser than that). Make sure you don't flood the floor with water. Rinse it carefully, let it dry thoroughly, Put on about 4-5 coats of commercial polish and possibly some high speed burnishing and everything should blend together much better. We are not saying you are going to have a perfect color match but it should improve things substantially. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience and I hope this information is helpful.
