This a great addition to anyone’s mailbox. This mailbox post is 28” tall. Our height requirement is 46” overall post height. As you will see we built a rustic foundation 18” tall which added to th post height of 28” gave us the overall height needed. Now you can order your post to a select number of sizes. The material is 4x4 square tubular steel. It is extremely durable and has a powder coat finish. Hardware was included and yes, we strongly recommend this product!

Overall, a product I would certainly recommend. The post itself came with all of the necessary hardware needed to mount the post, which is definitely helpful as it is one less thing to worry about. The product is made out of steel, so it is sure to hold up much better than the customary wooden posts often used. We have had the product for about a month, and have had no issues with the quality. While one of the mounting plates came a bit bent (via the mail), it hasn't altered our ability to use the post. If you're looking for a sturdy post, whether for a mail box or other home improvement project, I would recommend this product.

After 25 years, I decided to upgrade my mailbox with an Architectural Mailboxes 28 inch Galvanized Steel Mailbox Post. The product came well packed and had no scratches or dings on the black power coat surface. The post is heavy gauge galvanized steel, which will resist rusting and should provide decades of use. The mounting instructions show it can be mounted directly to a concrete surface. If a concrete surface is not available, I recommend burying a concrete block and use concrete anchors to mount the post.

Very nice design that makes it easy to install. Mine came with bolts inside a bag with the instructions. The instructions are easy to follow, you need a concrete drill which you can rent at Home Depot. It's pretty simple to pre drill the holes just make sure you set this down and mark the holes first as you don't want to make a mistakes on concrete. It stays pretty sturdy, nice quality.

Got these not to use as a mailbox post but as a fixed post for an outdoor stand I am building.......I was actually pretty impressed at the quality from the time the boxes arrived........the packaging was so meticulous it seemed almost overkill.......these things were very well packaged and very well made. ....unfortunately it’s still winter here so you’ll just have to check out my unboxing photos but if you are in the market for something like this you don’t have to hesitate on this one.......also comes with hardware to install your project....whatever that may be

Nice heavy and well built post! Comes with 4 hex bolts, 8 washers and 4 nuts for installing the mailbox to the post. I'm actually using this post in my shed and securing the bottom to the wood floor. I'm installing a manual winch to the top so I can pull my large generator up and down the steep ramp of my shed. I'm also putting this post against the back wall and securing the post with a 2x4 so it doesn't lean when using the winch. I needed something really sturdy and this post was perfect. For using as intended (as a mailbox post), there are instructions included for in-ground or surface mount installation. It stands 28-1/4" high and the bottom & top plates are 12"x6" (the bolt holes are 4 inches apart on center side to side and 10" apart on center from front to back). The post hole is 3"x3". I really like how sturdy and well made this post is and, for a mailbox post, you won't have to paint it and won't have to worry about it deteriorating over the years!

I always seem to have issues with my current mailbox post coming loose in the ground. Every year I feel as though I am pulling the pressure treated 4 by 4 out and resetting it and compacting the dirt around it. This square steel mailbox post solves that problem. I had been thinking about putting some concrete in the ground and putting my current post in it but this is even better. I can make a nice pad and attach this to it. This post is high-quality. Quarter inch steel makes it nice and strong. It is only 28 inches high so you may need to raise your pad or add an addition depending on where you live and what the code is in your area. However this is a beautiful looking post that will last you years and years and years without the worry of it becoming loose or falling over or rotting. I cannot wait till spring to pour my pad and use this. I would highly recommend for anyone thinking about making the conversion.

This mailbox post is a heavy duty, well made product. The square post is 4" x 4" and the mounting plates are 1/4" thick steel. The mounting plates are pre-drilled and nuts and bolts are included. The entire post is powder coated in a nice bronze finish. The total height is 28" which is a little low, the post office specifies a height of between 41" and 45" so you will need to pour a footing that is 24" and 28" above the surface of the road. A pretty simple project if you have some DIY skills.

The black is my favorite color. The Architectural Mailboxes 28 in. Galvanized Steel 1-Mailbox Post is made of a 4 in. square cross-section of heavy-gauge steel tubing with a mounting plate welded on top. This post has a commercial grade, powder-coated sand finish for added durability. This mailbox post is designed to be surface-mounted on a concrete pad. The stand itself is very strong and not to difficult to install I would rather drive some screws into concrete then dig a hole with a post hole digger, Its easy to install a mailbox to it even if the boxes holes don't line its easy enough to use self tapping screws so it is versatile and looks great. I will post pictures when installed

This review is for a Standard post 4” square 28”. This pole is designed for a larger style box (drop style) being 28” too short for your standard style box. Very heavy duty 14 gauge Galvanized steel and mountable by either pre placed j style bolts 7/16, or by drilling and inserting red heads or like into concrete or the material surface. Top and bottom plates galvanized steel 12 x 6 with predrilled holes 5/16 “ for mounting box and 7/16” into concrete surface. Mounting plates are welded and the assembly has a powder coated surface for a finished look. Very well made , strong if mounted correctly, do your home work for mounting surface , mailbox selection and USPS height regulations before purchase to be sure you get what you want . They do make a longer version 38” to meet height requirements with a standard box. This brad also makes Mailboxes to match post colors.

Too short???
The post is very well made but if it's being mounted on a curb for delivery it may be too short. We had to add four 6 in bolts between the mailbox and post to get it high enough for the postal person to be able to place the mail into it from the delivery truck

Welded steel post....what could be wrong?
Built well...welds appear to be done well. Seems about 3-4" too short, however the mail carrier hasn't expressed any negative remarks.

Amazing mailbox post! This is just what we needed to install a mailbox at our mountain home in Tennessee . Our handyman said it was super easy to install into the ground. We really like that we were able to pick our mailbox "topper". It is super heavy. I think most people would need a second person to help install it. We highly recommend this mailbox post.

This is about as solid of a mailbox post you can get! The top and bottom plates are made of 1/4" steel, and they are welded together to a piece of 4" square tube steel. The height from bottom to top plate is 28 1/4", and the top and bottom plates measure 12" x 6" square with four 3/8" holes pre-drilled into the plates to attach to the concrete pad and to your mailbox. If you are in the market for a mailbox post that will last, this one fits the bill perfectly.

This is one strong handcrafted unit of steel. To call it a mailbox post is to sell it short. Speaking of short, it actually seems a little short to be a mailbox post. Seems it would need to be on top of a pedestal to be tall enough for a mailbox post. It can be so many other things. I plan to put an electric winch on top of it, anchored to the ground, for pulling carts of sand out of a creek bed, and up a bluff on my property. I saw where another reviewer used it to support a planter on his deck. I could see it used as the base for a table top or a bar stool if the bottom was anchored to a deck or floor. You could use it as the base for your neighborhood little library, A birdbath, or a garden sculpture It's heavy and strong. I would be interested to know just how much weight this could support. It held my 250lbs. effortlessly The welds holding this together are beautifully done, with nice even beads. We see so many products out there with sloppy welds that are "good enough". These are craftsman grade welds. The powder coating is nicely done. This could be part of an attractive, quality project you could be proud of. You're only limited by your imagination. Somewhere there's somebody and this is exactly what they need and they don't know it, yet.

I had the opportunity to evaluate this nice mailbox post. First overall eval was this is a heavy well builts post built with 3/16 steel post and fully welded top and bottom. a few bolts are included. At second evaluation it is noted a very well packaged unit in sand color.. The top and bottom are my only issue as welding has caused them to warp slightly and will not sit flat. I fixed thet with 1/4 outdoor plywood with a center cutout to fit. It is designed to bolt to a sturdy base and the best part is that it stands up to the drivers of snowplows who relish blowing mailboxes off their supports..

If you have a homeowner's association, you might know that seemingly little things can become big points of contention in the neighborhood. If your HOA has rules about the mailbox post color or look, check out this post. It's quite nice looking, sturdy metal, and protected with a heavy coating. The sand color is a nice touch because you can coordinate the post with the rest of your house's colors.

Love the look of this mailbox post! I do a lot of landscaping, and I really enjoy having everything outside look nice. The mailbox post often is the last thing people think about, but having a nice one makes your property look more appealing. This post is galvanized with a graphite bronze coating that is rust resistant and looks fantastic. Really pleased with this one.

Superior product for folks who want to stop painting their mailbox posts and have something durable at the end of their drive. The square post is fully galvanized in a matte black coating, so it won't rust or deteriorate. This post can be put directly into the ground or attached to an existing concrete pad. You can also pour concrete around the appropriate bolts and then assemble the post atop your new concrete pad.

Fantastic product. I love that you can use this on existing concrete pads, or you can pour concrete around the proper type of bolts and then, after the cement dries, you just bolt the post right onto the surface. The coated surface means that I'll be compliant with my homeowners association's requirement that all mailbox posts be white. No more painting the old wooden post!

My mail box was leaning. This is more study and awesome curb appeal my flowers look great around the bottom, got those from home depot as well. Just the right height my mail person love it as well. I had someone passing by to stop and ask me about where I purchased it from and how great it looks with the mail box I had installed on top. I'm so girlie, you can leave plain or dress up.
