Overall, we are very pleased with this door. It looks good and has good features. Unfortunately, if you have a 32" door, white seems to be the only in-stock color. All other colors require a much more expensive 'special order'. And the Home Depot website is a bit confusing about this as it seems to combine the different widths on the same product selection page. So you can start with a 32" door and the product shows other colors in stock. But when you click those other colors, you get switched to a 36" door. So you really have to pay attention. It makes shopping for them pretty confusing. We got the low-e glass. But then we were surprised to find two stickers on the door warning that cleaning the glass can damage the low-e coating. It said you have to be careful and just blot, don't wipe. But what was really ironic about this is that removing both of these warning stickers left an adhesive film that we could not get off without wiping. The installation was not too difficult. But I did have to shim the door frame to make it fit. The manual says "For opening widths up to 1" wider, please call our solution center ... to purchase a special kit to accommodate your situation." So that's exactly what I did, and boy was that an experience. -First three calls, phone picked up and I could hear voices like a call center, but no one answered or responded. -Finally got someone, but they couldn't find the serial number for my door in their system. -But we proceeded only to eventually be told, there is no kit available for my door, despite what the instructions say. -At the start of the call, a message told me to stay on the line to leave a review for the service, so I was going to do that. But the agent that I finally got ahold of would not hang up. He insisted that I had to hang up first - thus preventing me from leaving a review. I tried to wait him out, but after a good two or three minutes, I just hung up ... he won. So I then filled out an online form at the Andersen website, expressing my displeasure. I did quickly get a call back (within the hour) apologizing and telling me someone would get back with me to address the issues. But I never heard from them again. So after adding some shims to the door to get it in range, the door went on pretty easily. There were some left over installation part that were not covered in the manual. But I reviewed it multiple times and am confident I covered every step. I think it has to do with the door handle coming as a separate kit.

Great looking door, very easy install, special order color arrived 2 weeks early. Cannot go wrong with this door.

Door looks very nice and the install is pretty easy. Unfortunately the door latches to the frame and not any type of reenforced strike plate. Within 36 hours of installing, a strong wind opened the fully closed door and bent the close arm and destroyed the lower part of house door frame that the arm was secured to. I contacted the manufacturer and was told their door was probably OK and my house door frame could be repaired and their door could be reinstalled.

I’m my neighbor has a storm door that replaced his security screen. When I saw his I had to have one too. We are in Southern California so we don’t need storm protection but this door is great because it adds sound proofing and weather sealing. It feels like there is no door there. The hidden screen that is attached to the upper panel that pulls down when that panel is pulled down is terrific. I chose the Anderson door because my neighbor’s only complaint with his door is that it has unique hardware so he now needs a separate key. Anderson hardware is compatible with Quickset or Schlage. This is worth it alone. There are other features that are better than the competition. It is easier to install and thee finishes are nicer too.

We have had this this door installed for about 3 weeks now, and have had nothing but problems with it. We are constantly putting the screws back into the closing mechanism every time the door is opened. The edges on the door have already warped and look terrible. I have installed screen doors on every house I have lived in and NEVER have I had so many problems. I would highly recommend not purchasing this door, until this company has fixed these problems. I am super disappointed!!!

We have had this door for about three years. Shortly after installing the wind caught the door and blew it open and bent the closer. We have now replaced the closer twice (at our expense because it is not covered under warranty) and are currently in the same situation. If the rest of the door was solid I could overlook this as being an issue with how the wind catches the door at our location. The very cheap plastic weather stripping and edging rattles when the door is closed, the paint on the handle has already worn off and the whole door feels cheeply made. We took off an original 100 year old wood storm door that was beautiful but unfortunately had reached the end of its life. We purchased an Andersen door because we thought it would be of comparable quality and would last a long time. Our door was special ordered because of the size of the opening and the cost was significantly more than the standard size. Please don't sell a door this big if the closer is inadequate to handle it. I would not recommend this door.

I bought this because I considered it to be the best storm door available. Installation was easy since the door is completely contained within its frame and you just have to screw the frame to your doorposts. Just make sure the door is level, something not specified in the instructions. The instructions were easy to follow with separate instructions for right and left hand doors within the one book. I have one issue and that is that the inside top of the door scrapes the door frame when the door is opened or closed. I sent photos to Emco support but have not heard back with a solution. I filed down the offending area, which is actually the cover for the rolled up screen. I think the holes for the two screws that hiold this part in place are just slightly too low, bringing the part slightly higher than the front door edge.

All I can say is wow had a very people comment already how nice the door is added protection on those colder FL days. It nice to be able to lock the door and drop down the glass and let air flow through the house. Super easy to install took me about a hr taking my time.

I love it. It has cut down the cold air draft from the door side as well. Perfect fit. Awesome.

We bought two left-hand and a right-hand door in this line. The storm doors were especially easy to install. We also loved the availability of the color Terratone for the door and Oil-Rubbed Bronze for the handles. The large amount of glass doesn't detract from our fancy front entrance door and the self-storing screen, which operates very simply, allows for fresh air when desired. The self-closer with the step on feature really works to hold the door open. We loved the first two storm doors we bought, and the third is set to arrive in January 2022.

We went with this door because it said 45min install. We worked on it for 1hr than gave up and paid someone to come install it. Took him 2 hrs. I would have went with the 2500 door that said 2 hr install if I had to call someone out. Door does look nice.

Originally I was going to buy a 3000 series door where you can swap out the insect screen and glass, but decided not to after reading a review that said water could get inside. Anderson replied to that review saying this about storm doors " It is not designed to be leak proof as the main door should be the main line of defense. ". So I decided to purchase this 3000 series self storing storm door thinking the bottom glass must be sealed in since it's fixed, right? Wrong.. Water leaks inside and gets trapped between the main door and the storm door by the storm door weatherstripping. But hey, no big deal, right? I had wiped up some of the water right before taking the attached pictures, and it just kept coming in. I just tried sealing the bottom of glass on the outside and inside with clear silicone, hopefully that fixes it, but I shouldn't have to do what anderson should be doing at the factory.

This door is amazing, it was the most easy installation I have ever dealt with. The overall feel of the door is nice and sturdy, way more heavy than the Larson door I replaced. We have Anderson windows throughout our home and I am happy to report that they don't disaapointwith their doors either. I love the upgraded styling of the door latching the frame instead of a separate catch plate that typically takes our your arm. The screen portion on the top is smooth and again, sturdy. I have no complaints about this door and highly recommend it to anyone whose looking.

we bought this door in brown and they had to order it it was to come in in 3 week it took 5 then had the door for a month and screen came out I looked at the door and the track was crooked I proceeded to call them . They said to me that all they would do is send me a new screen. I asked them if they were going to come out and fix it since it is a month old and they said they DON'T do that. Hopefully if you buy this door you know how to use power tools cause you have to take half the door apart to put the screen back in. For price of the door they should fix it. ps the screen will take almost a month to come to you.

The installation was easy, it looks great! Although one week after installing the door the screen is already coming out. I can't get it back in the track.

The door was not difficult to install. I needed a hand while I started the first two screws. After that it went according to the well written instructions. I had to move the latch side in because the latch wasn't positively engaging. I didn't have much room left in the trim to re-drill the holes per the instructions, putting the holes closer to the edge than I was comfortable with. The improvement is - make the latch side slots instead of holes. It would be quite a bit easier and make more sense than drilling another set of holes.

Very easy to install. Was the easiest door I ever installed. I like that the door was basically, completely put together. The only thing you really need to make sure before installing. Make sure you have a squared up door jam. Since I replaced new exterior door, ordered and purchased from Home Depot, it was squared and ready to go. Storm door aligned up perfect. Added screws. Handle. Done. Ordered door, and handle kit. The color of the door I ordered was called Cinnamon toast it matched the exterior door which was the color of Cranberry.

Took my adult son and I about 2 hours to install first time.

I bought this door in July of 2020. It has had issues after 1 month of afternoon sun. The plastic material for the trim is so cheap it melts, causing trim to pull out and the latch to not release screen. This spring the screen all the trim is warped and has pulled apart and I am unable to use the door. I leave the window cracked 3 inches to prevent heat from building up, to no avail. It just keeps warping. It is almost curly now. They will not replace the door just parts. I asked them to put me on auto ship, because in one month it will be warping again. I should have bought a Larson door, many friends have them with NO ISSUES they have functioned well for years. I am not sure what I was thinking......

Love this door. It was easy install and looks great. I beat feature is the screen just rolls down when you lower the top glass.

Having trouble with the screen tracks bowing. Had a new screen kit sent and installed but looks like the new one is doing the same thing just not as bad as the first

The installation was a breeze. Instructions were easy to understand. I installed the door in less than an hour. The door looks great and we love the the self storing screen.

I had a contractor come and install my storm door. The door quality is not good. It is not the same on the bottom as the top. I had to have him come back and he had to grind some metal off the top of the door to make it close correctly. I probably should have sent it back, but it is hard to get people out to install. It should be correct when they send it. It cost me two calls to my installer. Not fair to me.

I purchased this door, and it was easy to install and looks great. The door was installed a little less than a week ago, and we have opened the screen a few times since the install. Today when sliding open the screen, the glass disconnected from the frame in the corner. I’m so disappointed the door was perfect and looked great. Unfortunately, the fix is likely to install a new door.

I have an old house where normal projects always have curveballs. I’m a mid-level type of DIY handyman. I was a little nervous about doing this on my own. This door was about as easy as one could expect from a project like this. I started with a back patio 32 inch, to see how things would go, before trying my front door. It went relatively well, final result was great. Had a couple bumps in the road, as expected, but overall was pleasantly surprised how simple this was. Couple of notes- I think the instructions are perfect for a newer house where every door frame is built correctly… but I would do a couple things differently with an older house and less than ideal situation. For example i wouldn’t drill and screw in all of the pilots on the hinge and latch sides. I prefer to wait until everything is in place, check that it’s all square (gaps, door closes square with frame, latches, etc). Then you have more freedom to make small adjustments before anchoring everything in place. The day after my patio 32 inch was done, I purchased the 36 inch for my front door. This one was really a breeze with the experience of the first one behind me. Pretty amazing how efficient this was. Only minor thing to note was the bottom spacer came off. There is a note on how to put this back on, in the troubleshooting section. I did not know about that until after it was done. I also had a frame that was not level on the top, I did cut off 1/8 inch of the hinge-side rail to make it all square on top. Something I probably wouldn’t have had the confidence to do if it were my first install. One other tip- be careful removing the door from the carton. Sound stupid, but the top of the door is anchored to the side rails with a couple small screws… this section can easily bend and get skewed. It’s not a critical component of the structure and can be fixed, but a headache you don’t need. The main takeaway here is that I had NEVER installed a door of any type in my life as of 4 days ago. Now I have 2 beautiful storm doors where if you came to my house, you’d have no idea they weren’t installed by a professional crew. The door itself is sturdy and of good quality. The pull down screen works flawlessly. This changed our whole house. I told my wife if I could go back in time, this would’ve been the first project I did as soon as we moved in 7 years ago. Great product!!!

The problem with this door is the hinge setup the door pulls on the upper hinge causing the hinge rod to bend. The door doesn’t close properly because it sags. Save yourself constant problems with this door by getting something different. Very poor design, constant headache to deal with.

I got this model, for its retractable screen, for the back of the house. I got the 4000, for its better sound proofing, for the front of the house. The 4000 has been great and given me no problems. This one, the lock keeps catching inside the box. I have to unscrew the plate, to get it to work again. Also, the latch will often not retract when closing. I have to turn the knob to close it. The damper screw keeps unscrewing. Every few weeks I have to adjust it, because the door is slamming (never had a damper do this). The retraceable scree has been great, and I use it often, but everything is a big regret.
