I bought this because it looks nice and I wanted an attractive rain barrel since it's on the street side of our house. It does look good, but, it's cheaply made and has a ridiculous design flaw. The spigot lever is so tiny that it's hard to turn, the spigot feels like it may snap off because the plastic is so thin, and now that it's full of water the sides all bulge out ominously. The worst, however, is that the overflow drains are ABOVE the top of the barrel in the area where air is trapped around the rim so they're totally useless. Water pools above the grate, which is perfect if your goal is to breed mosquitoes and have water spill into your home foundation. Criminally stupid and an utter waste of money.

The rain barrel filled quickly with our first storm event. Everything worked well. It also looks great and is jus what we needed. We now have three of them!

For the price, this is a rip off. If you decide to buy this, weigh it down with stones on the inside (the instructions don't tell you that), seal up the valve with silicone where it attaches to the barrel.

We had to return it. It had a large leak where the valve attached to the barrel.

No I was very disappointed We returned the rain barrel because the parts that were to come with it were not in the barrel as it stated on the box The rain barrel itself was very nice and just what we were looking for

My rain barrel was easy to set up and had been holding up, full of water, since I got it. It looks nice in front of my house as well.

One of the three I ordered is already leaking.

We have 3 of these and for the price I think they are a good deal but the quality could be better. One had a faulty installation of the hose bib attachment so it would leak and eventually came off. I repaired it but the hose bibs are made of plastic including where you attach the hose so the quality is not that great. One came without a hose at all (the 3-foot or so hose) and the manufacturer shipped a new one to us. The hose fittings are prone to leak as well. As these are for outside, a few drips may not bother anyone but a couple of ours are placed on pavers so the dripping is a nuisance. Finally, there is a way to hang the hose on the barrel but it too is very simply and not a good design to securely hang the hose. Cheap for the size and shape and color, cheap in build too. Very lightweight so easy to move when empty.

These are a light grey, not a charcoal color as shown. I had to return them.

Very pleased with this rain barrel! I bought one to try it out and then ordered a second one. I needed this because when it rained a lot the back yard would be under water. Now I can catch the runoff and slowly release it.

Can’t wait for a heavy rain for it to fill up!

I love our rain barrel. I did enhance ours with some textured stone spray paint, but I love the fact it has the hose attached to the bottom. Very handy. There is also a screen attached to the top, to keep out mosquitos. It also doesn't take a lot of room like a typical round barrel.

Easy to set up. Holds a lot of water. And it drains with a good water pressure, even without a pump. Not to mention that it is very good looking. I liked my first one so much, I now own 3 Algreen Madison rail barrels.

We now have tow of these and i am very happy with how they work.

Not clear from description that rain barrel comes with hardware for lower hose attachment, but nothing for the upper overflows. These need to be purchased separately or else the barrel will overflow if you have a heavy rain and the lower tap closed. Other than that as expected.

This bulges a little bit when it is full but I am not bothered! Does exactly the job it is for and I am going to try to trellis some squash up it with some wisely placed command strips and bamboo

Form over function. The plastic spigot is inset inside a 2 1/2 square hole. It is virtually impossible to fit your fingers inside the tiny hole in order to screw a water hose onto the spigot. You have to attempt to tightly grab the edges using only the tips of your fingers and twist. PAINFUL! If you set it on a level surface the spigot points downwards and nearly touches the ground making it equally impossible to screw any kind of hose on. So you have to go out and buy some bricks or something to prop it up on. You're supposed to wrap the threads with teflon tape to prevent leaking (supplied). After struggling to unscrew your hose a few times, the teflon invariably becomes compromised and starts to leak. How are you supposed to fix it now?? Transfer 80 gallons of water to your bathtub, fix it, then transfer it back? All you can do is helplessly watch all the precious water you collected in the spring slowly drip away, and it is bone dry by the time you need it in the summer :( I also got very sick trying to repair the thing because apparently raccoons had gotten into the water flowing into the top. That could kill you! The instructions indicate that you can daisy chain numerous water barrels together and there is a low grade drawing of them connected with some kind of hose. Unfortunately, they do not tell you what SIZE hose you need. After much searching, it turns out that it requires a 1 1/2" hose which HOME DEPOT DOES NOT SELL! The largest size they have is 1 1/4 which now comes in precut 10' lengths which are so tightly coiled that 1/3 of the hose has been flattened out beyond the point of being useful any longer. You'll have to cut of 1/3 of it off and throw it away. Considering you have to go to another hardware store to buy the fittings to attempt to make this thing work, you might as well buy your rain barrel there as well, since it seems Home Depot could care less whether anything they stock actually works or not any more.

I was happy for the 1st 4 weeks but then the Container developed a leak at the hose conception to the container. Upon inspection I noticed that the connecting plate was attached with a glue that was dripped around the plate. I will have to return it.

We purchased 2 and after one season, both spouts popped out. It looks like it was glued on with epoxy and the water put too much pressure on it over time.
