Most rails are pretty rough shape. Hard to find...
Most rails are pretty rough shape. Hard to find quality rail that is straight and not full of knots.
Rail groove will not properly fit over a 2x4.

I found this profile is now difficult to source. My...
I found this profile is now difficult to source. My original railings were installed in 1990 and needed replacement. After not finding them stocked anywhere local including HD I found them on the Home Depot website. Perfect match to the old and a better grade of wood. Easy install on existing posts and spindles which remain in good condition.

A nice product but had a few more knots than...
A nice product but had a few more knots than I would like and was somewhat warped, but I was able to work with it. A little pricey for a 6' length but was a nice finishing touch.

Handrails Update
After going to four Home Depots, I was able to gather the needed 8 rails. When you find them, you have to go through each one due to knots, bowing and/or cracks. Once you have the good ones, they look beautiful.

Really nice rails
I bought 2 bundles and found 2 sticks that were warped slightly over the length but my application allowed me to use them. I am very happy with yhe results.
