Nice quality machine. Started right up per instructions. A little bit heavy, so the harness is definitely needed. When used as a brush cutter it seems a bit under powered but continued use will definitely help with using it to its full capacity.

the two handle weedeater works a lot easier than other ones i own i love the easy start in the Echo brand

Works great! Saves your back if you have a large area to trim.

Wish is was a bit longer (~6-10"). I'm tall and would like the extra reach. Other than that, works like a champ, 21.2 cc is more than enough for busting thick ground cover around my trees.

It’s light weight, and Handel the tuff weed and grass jobs.

I should have gotten one of these sooner. I have have the regular ECHO 21.2 for years. In the last few years after using 2 tanks full of fuel with continuous use my hand on the trigger ( near the motor) would shake for a few hours after use. The new setup is great no hand shakes after use

Device runs great. Easy starting and cuts through heavy wild blackberry vines like nothing. Wished I would have bought one of these years ago. You will however need to buy additional adapter plates from Echo in order to use some of the other metal brush blades that are available.

I bought it so far its awsome every week i use it.

I didn't purchase mine at Home Depot because 5 years ago I don't think they sold them. It was more then $100 less then a equivalent Stihl when you factor in the steel saw blade which I needed. This trimmer works awesome, starts easy, runs great. No issues, have used 1 maintenance kit, Plug and air/fuel filters. I bought a double shoulder harness on amazon. The replacement Echo Line cuts really good also

Definitely would not buy this again. It works fine, if you can get it started. It took a while to discover that I have to take the spark plug out and put it back in to get it to start cold. I know 2-strokes can be finicky, but this one is down rough hornry. Overall, adequate brush cutter with a poor engine. Other brands must work as well and start more easily.

As a string trimmer and saw blade, the unit is very good. But to cut weed growth like runners, a scythe (as in a hedge trimmer) is necessary.

This is my second 225 the first now at my home and the new one at my rural property. Both great machines!

I purchased an SRM 225U on June 3. The included harness was missing. Instead there was a shoulder strap with no shoulder pad that was not only incomfrtable but cut into my neck while wearing it. I tried calling customer service over the next few days but was placed on a forever hold. So I sent an email. A week later I get a response that I was in error. It doesn't come with a harness. I responded by copying the text of the ad which clearly states that it comes with a harness and asked for ECHO to honeor the ad and supply the harness. I never heard back. This brush-cutter/trimmer is almost $100 more than an equivalent Husqvarna or Stihl. I assumed it was because of the included harness. It is a heavy machine and requires a harness to use. I would not recommend ECHO.

This tough machine is perfect for me to finally clear a vacant lot I have owned for 15 years in the FLA Panhandle. It is heavily wooded with thick undergrowth, tangles of briars, thick vines and numerous types of young 1" to 4" diameter trees. (The bigger ones, I cut around on both sides to bring them down...nice and low to the ground with no stumps.) String trimmers can't cut through this stuff. Chain saws do, but you can't reach in to the middle of thickets to reach central stalks without hours of using hand tools tediously cutting brush and getting scratched up. This rips through everything in the way. I had to make some changes to the basic kit for max performance for this job. Tried two different blades and found a carbon tipped blade, similar to a wood ripping blade, that works best. I also upgraded the harness to double-shoulder style straps for greater stability and comfort. For me, this machine performs like a champ. Like all Echo products, it is easy to start and runs smooth. I love it. When this job is done, I'll switch back to a brush-cutter blade for low brush maintenace which is very easy and fast to do. Great machine!

I've had my Echo SRM-225U for two years and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to start, idles nicely and cuts well. It's light weight and between the strap and handlebar setup, it saves my hands a lot of vibration and holding my wrist in one spot. I use it daily to keep over 5 acres manicured.
