    Answer This Question

A:  I know thicker soaps are a bad idea unless they are thinned to the right consistency. I learned that lesson the hard way a few times but I finally got it (I can be hardheaded).

A:  Hi! Although, dishwashing liquid is not listed, our pumps can handle it.

A:  Hello Tree, Our compact sensor soap pump is specifically designed to dispense liquid hand or dish soap but some lotions will work fine as long as they are not too thick. Warm regards, simplehuman

A:  Yes, you can use this with foaming soap.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  I would say no but I haven’t tried it either. I’ve wanted to but I know from experience when these things are filled with incompatible liquids they can be a challenge to clean. I do know they recommend against beaded soaps and foaming soaps for this particular model; however they do sell one designed especially for foaming soaps.

A:  Hello JP, Your pump may be clogged. Try emptying the soap chamber and put a 1/4 cup of high percentage rubbing alcohol into it. Holding the + button continuously will prime the motor and force the rubbing alcohol to eat through the clog and solve the issue. Warm regards, simplehuman

A:  Check batteries, make sure sensor is clean along with rubber dispenser. Might have to take apart and clean, if over 2 yrs might have to replace.

A:  It may have gotten clogged. Try turning it upside down and running the nozzle under hot tap water. If that doesn’t work, empty the soap and fill about a quarter of the unit with hot/very warm and see if the heat will dissolve the clog and warm water should help to it push the clog out. Both of these methods have worked for me on the older models but sometimes it takes multiple applications depending on where the issue is but I would suggest starting with the easiest first, the tap. Good Luck

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes, as long as the consistency is compatible. If I’m not using their soap, and sometimes I don’t, I now always try to get one with a flow similar to theirs (smooth and not to thick) and I hadn’t had a problem since. However, with Corona I've basically gone back to their brand since I’ve been doing mostly delivery and pickup services. But again, if you turn the bottle over and the flow is good, it should be fine. If not you can always add a touch of water to thin it slightly but make sure to mix/stir it through.
